质问耶稣的权柄
20 有一天，耶稣正在圣殿里教导人、传讲福音，祭司长、律法教师和长老上前， 2 质问祂：“告诉我们，你凭什么权柄做这些事？谁授权给你了？”
3 耶稣回答说：“我也问你们一个问题。你们告诉我， 4 约翰的洗礼是从天上来的还是从人来的？”
5 他们彼此议论说：“如果我们说‘是从天上来的’，祂一定会问，‘那你们为什么不相信他？’ 6 如果我们说‘是从人来的’，百姓会拿石头打死我们，因为他们相信约翰是先知。” 7 于是，他们回答说：“我们不知道约翰的洗礼是从哪里来的。”
8 耶稣说：“我也不告诉你们我凭什么权柄做这些事。”
利欲熏心的佃户
9 接着耶稣对众人讲了个比喻：“有人开垦了一个葡萄园，把园子租给几个佃户，就出远门了。 10 到了收获的季节，他差奴仆去葡萄园向佃户收取他应得的收成，但那些佃户却把奴仆揍了一顿，使他空手而归。 11 园主又派另一个奴仆去，那些佃户照样将他殴打并羞辱一番，使他空手而归。 12 园主又派第三个奴仆去，他们又把他打伤，抛在园外。
13 “园主说，‘我该怎样办呢？不如叫我所疼爱的儿子去吧。他们大概会尊敬他。’
14 “岂料那些佃户看见来人是园主的儿子，便彼此商量说，‘这个人是产业继承人，我们把他杀掉，这葡萄园就归我们了！’ 15 于是他们把园主的儿子拖到葡萄园外杀了。
“那么，园主会怎样处治他们呢？ 16 他必来杀掉这些佃户，把葡萄园转租给别人。”
众人听了就说：“但愿这种事永远不会发生！”
17 耶稣定睛看着他们，问道：“那么，圣经上说，
“‘工匠丢弃的石头已成了房角石’，
这句话是什么意思呢？ 18 凡跌在这石头上的人，将粉身碎骨；这石头落在谁身上，将把谁砸烂。”
纳税问题
19 律法教师和祭司长听出这比喻是针对他们说的，便想立刻下手捉拿耶稣，但又害怕百姓。 20 于是，他们密切地监视耶稣，又派遣密探假装好人，想从祂的话里找把柄抓祂去见总督。
21 那些密探问耶稣：“老师，我们知道你所讲所传的道都是正确的，也知道你不看人的情面，只按真理传上帝的道。 22 那么，我们向凯撒纳税对不对呢？”
23 耶稣看破他们的阴谋， 24 就叫他们拿一个银币来，问他们：“上面刻的是谁的像和名号？”他们说：“凯撒的。”
25 耶稣说：“属于凯撒的，要给凯撒；属于上帝的，要给上帝。”
26 耶稣的回答令他们惊奇，他们无法当众找到把柄，只好闭口不言。
论死人复活
27 撒督该人向来不相信有复活的事。有几个这一派的人来问耶稣： 28 “老师，按摩西为我们写的律例，如果有人娶妻后没有孩子就死了，他的兄弟应当娶嫂嫂，替哥哥传宗接代。 29 有弟兄七人，老大结了婚，没有孩子就死了。 30 二弟、 31 三弟、一直到七弟都相继娶了嫂嫂，都没有留下孩子就死了。 32 最后那个女人也死了。 33 那么，到复活的时候，她将是谁的妻子呢？因为七个人都娶过她。”
34 耶稣说：“今世的人才有嫁娶， 35 但那些配得将来的世界、从死里复活的人也不娶也不嫁， 36 就像天使一样永远不会死。他们既然从死里复活，就是上帝的儿女。 37 在记载有关燃烧的荆棘的篇章中，摩西也证实死人会复活，因为他称主是‘亚伯拉罕的上帝，以撒的上帝，雅各的上帝’。 38 上帝不是死人的上帝，而是活人的上帝。因为在祂那里的人都是活人。”
39 几位律法教师说：“老师答得好！” 40 此后，再没有人敢问耶稣问题了。
论基督
41 耶稣问他们：“人怎么说基督是大卫的后裔呢？ 42 大卫曾在诗篇里说，
“‘主对我主说，
你坐在我的右边，
43 等我使你的仇敌成为你的脚凳。’
44 既然大卫称基督为主，基督又怎么会是大卫的后裔呢？”
45 大家正在细听，耶稣对门徒说： 46 “你们要提防律法教师。他们爱穿着长袍招摇过市，喜欢人们在大街上问候他们，又喜欢会堂里的上座和宴席中的首位。 47 他们侵吞寡妇的财产，还假意做冗长的祷告。这种人必受到更严厉的惩罚！”

La autoridad de Jesús puesta en duda(A)
20 Un día, mientras Jesús enseñaba al pueblo en el templo y les predicaba el evangelio, se le acercaron los jefes de los sacerdotes y los maestros de la ley, junto con los ancianos.
2 ―Dinos con qué autoridad haces esto —lo interrogaron—. ¿Quién te dio esa autoridad?
3 ―Yo también voy a haceros una pregunta —replicó él—. Decidme: 4 El bautismo de Juan, ¿procedía del cielo o de la tierra?[a]
5 Ellos, pues, lo discutieron entre sí: «Si respondemos: “Del cielo”, nos dirá: “¿Por qué no le creísteis?” 6 Pero, si decimos: “De la tierra”, todo el pueblo nos apedreará, porque están convencidos de que Juan era un profeta».
Así que le respondieron:
7 ―No sabemos de dónde era.
8 ―Pues yo tampoco os voy a decir con qué autoridad hago esto.
Parábola de los labradores malvados(B)
9 Pasó luego a contarle a la gente esta parábola:
―Un hombre plantó un viñedo, se lo arrendó a unos labradores y se fue de viaje por largo tiempo. 10 Llegada la cosecha, mandó un siervo a los labradores para que le dieran parte de la cosecha. Pero los labradores lo golpearon y lo despidieron con las manos vacías. 11 Envió otro siervo, pero también a este lo golpearon, lo humillaron y lo despidieron con las manos vacías. 12 Entonces envió un tercero, pero aun a este lo hirieron y lo expulsaron.
13 »Entonces pensó el dueño del viñedo: “¿Qué voy a hacer? Enviaré a mi hijo amado; seguro que a él sí lo respetarán”. 14 Pero, cuando lo vieron los labradores, dialogaron entre ellos. “Este es el heredero —dijeron—. Matémoslo, y la herencia será nuestra”. 15 Así que lo arrojaron fuera del viñedo y lo mataron.
»¿Qué les hará el dueño? 16 Volverá, acabará con esos labradores y dará el viñedo a otros».
Al oír esto, la gente exclamó:
―¡Dios no lo quiera!
17 Mirándolos fijamente, Jesús les dijo:
―Entonces, ¿qué significa esto que está escrito:
»“La piedra que desecharon los constructores
ha llegado a ser la piedra angular”?[b]
18 Todo el que caiga sobre esa piedra quedará despedazado y, si ella cae sobre alguien, lo hará polvo».
19 Los maestros de la ley y los jefes de los sacerdotes, cayendo en la cuenta de que la parábola iba dirigida contra ellos, buscaron la manera de echarle mano en aquel mismo momento. Pero temían al pueblo.
El pago de impuestos al césar(C)
20 Entonces, para acecharlo, enviaron espías que fingían ser gente honorable. Pensaban atrapar a Jesús en algo que él dijera, y así poder entregarlo a la jurisdicción del gobernador.
21 ―Maestro —dijeron los espías—, sabemos que lo que dices y enseñas es correcto. No juzgas por las apariencias, sino que de verdad enseñas el camino de Dios. 22 ¿Nos está permitido pagar impuestos al césar o no?
23 Pero Jesús, dándose cuenta de sus malas intenciones, replicó:
24 ―Mostradme una moneda romana.[c] ¿De quién son esta imagen y esta inscripción?
―Del césar —contestaron.
25 ―Entonces dadle al césar lo que es del césar, y a Dios lo que es de Dios.
26 No pudieron atraparlo en lo que decía en público. Así que, admirados de su respuesta, se callaron.
La resurrección y el matrimonio(D)
27 Luego, algunos de los saduceos, que decían que no hay resurrección, se acercaron a Jesús y le plantearon un problema:
28 ―Maestro, Moisés nos enseñó en sus escritos que, si un hombre muere y deja a la viuda sin hijos, el hermano de ese hombre tiene que casarse con la viuda para que su hermano tenga descendencia. 29 Pues bien, había siete hermanos. El primero se casó y murió sin dejar hijos. 30 Entonces el segundo 31 y el tercero se casaron con ella, y así sucesivamente murieron los siete sin dejar hijos. 32 Por último, murió también la mujer. 33 Ahora bien, en la resurrección, ¿de cuál será esposa esta mujer, ya que los siete estuvieron casados con ella?
34 ―La gente de este mundo se casa y se da en casamiento —les contestó Jesús—. 35 Pero en cuanto a los que sean dignos de tomar parte en el mundo venidero por la resurrección: esos no se casarán ni serán dados en casamiento, 36 ni tampoco podrán morir, pues serán como los ángeles. Son hijos de Dios porque toman parte en la resurrección. 37 Pero que los muertos resucitan lo dio a entender Moisés mismo en el pasaje sobre la zarza, pues llama al Señor “el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac y de Jacob”.[d] 38 Él no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos; en efecto, para él todos ellos viven.
39 Algunos de los maestros de la ley le respondieron:
―¡Bien dicho, Maestro!
40 Y ya no se atrevieron a hacerle más preguntas.
¿De quién es hijo el Cristo?(E)
41 Pero Jesús les preguntó:
―¿Cómo es que dicen que el Cristo es el hijo de David? 42 David mismo declara en el libro de los Salmos:
»“Dijo el Señor a mi Señor:
‘Siéntate a mi derecha,
43 hasta que ponga a tus enemigos
por estrado de tus pies’ ”.[e]
44 David lo llama “Señor”. ¿Cómo puede entonces ser su hijo?»
45 Mientras todo el pueblo lo escuchaba, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos:
46 ―Cuidaos de los maestros de la ley. Les gusta pasearse con ropas ostentosas y les encanta que los saluden en las plazas, y ocupar el primer puesto en las sinagogas y los lugares de honor en los banquetes. 47 Devoran los bienes de las viudas y a la vez hacen largas plegarias para impresionar a los demás. Estos recibirán peor castigo.

20 Un día, Jesús estaba enseñando a la gente en el templo. Mientras les enseñaba las buenas noticias, se le acercaron los jefes de los sacerdotes, los maestros de la ley y los ancianos para hacerle esta pregunta: 2 —¿Dinos quién te ha dado autoridad para hacer esto?
3 Él les respondió: —Yo también les voy a hacer una pregunta. Contéstenme: 4 Juan, ¿bautizaba con autoridad del cielo o de la tierra?
5 Ellos comenzaron a discutir entre sí: «Si decimos que “del cielo”, él nos preguntará por qué no le creímos. 6 Y si decimos que “de la tierra”, todo el pueblo nos apedreará, porque están seguros de que Juan era un profeta».
7 Entonces le respondieron:
―No sabemos.
8 Él les dijo:
―Pues yo tampoco les voy a decir con qué autoridad hago esto.
Parábola de los labradores malvados
9 Después le contó a la gente esta parábola:
―Un hombre plantó un viñedo, lo alquiló a unos labradores y luego se fue de viaje por largo tiempo. 10 Cuando llegó el tiempo de la cosecha, mandó a un sirviente para que los labradores le dieran como pago parte de la cosecha. Pero los labradores lo golpearon y lo enviaron con las manos vacías. 11 Luego envió a otro sirviente, pero también a este lo golpearon, lo humillaron y lo enviaron con las manos vacías. 12 Entonces envió por tercera vez a un sirviente, y a este también lo hirieron y lo echaron fuera.
13 »Así que el dueño del viñedo pensó: “¿Qué haré? Enviaré a mi hijo, al que tanto amo. Estoy seguro de que a él sí lo respetarán”.
14 »Pero cuando los labradores lo vieron, se dijeron unos a otros: “Este es el que heredará todo esto. Vamos a matarlo y la herencia será nuestra”. 15 Así que lo echaron fuera del viñedo y lo mataron. ¿Qué piensan ustedes que les hará el dueño? 16 Regresará, matará a esos labradores y dará el viñedo a otros».
La gente oyó esto y dijo:
―¡Qué Dios no lo permita!
17 Jesús los miró y les dijo:
―Entonces, si está escrito: “La piedra que los constructores despreciaron, se ha convertido en la piedra más importante”, ¿qué quiere decir eso?
18 »El que caiga sobre esa piedra se hará pedazos; y si la piedra cae sobre alguien, lo hará polvo».
19 Los maestros de la ley y los jefes de los sacerdotes se dieron cuenta de que la parábola se refería a ellos. Por eso querían arrestarlo en ese mismo momento, pero le tenían miedo a la gente.
El pago de impuestos al césar
20 Entonces enviaron espías que se hacían pasar por gente honrada para vigilarlo. Querían atrapar a Jesús cuando dijera algo que les diera la oportunidad de entregarlo al gobernador romano.
21 Los espías le dijeron:
―Maestro, sabemos que dices y enseñas lo que es correcto. Que no te dejas llevar por las apariencias, sino que de verdad enseñas el camino de Dios. 22 Dinos: ¿Está bien que paguemos impuestos al gobierno romano o no?
23 Pero Jesús se dio cuenta de sus malas intenciones y les dijo:
24 ―Muéstrenme una moneda romana. ¿De quién es la imagen y el nombre que tiene escrito?
Le contestaron:
―Del césar.
25 Él les dijo:
―Pues denle al césar lo que es del césar y a Dios lo que es de Dios.
26 Y así no encontraron oportunidad para atraparlo en nada de lo que él decía frente a la gente. Por eso, sorprendidos de su respuesta, se callaron.
La resurrección y el matrimonio
27 Después, algunos saduceos se acercaron a Jesús. Ellos no creían que hubiera resurrección, y por esa razón le hicieron esta pregunta:
28 ―Maestro, Moisés dice en sus escritos que si un hombre muere sin haber tenido hijos con su esposa, el hermano de ese hombre tiene que casarse con la viuda, para darle hijos a su hermano muerto. 29 Pues bien, había siete hermanos. El primero se casó y murió sin tener hijos. 30 Después el segundo 31 y el tercero se casaron con la misma mujer, luego el resto de los siete hermanos. Cada uno murió sin tener hijos. 32 Por último, también la mujer murió. 33 Cuando ocurra la resurrección, ¿de cuál de ellos será esposa esta mujer si estuvo casada con los siete? 34 Jesús les contestó: —En este mundo la gente se casa, 35 pero los que merecen resucitar en el mundo que viene, esos no se casarán, 36 ni tampoco morirán. Serán como los ángeles, y serán hijos de Dios porque toman parte en la resurrección. 37 Hasta Moisés mismo nos deja ver que los muertos resucitan. Lo dijo en el pasaje sobre la zarza, pues llama al Señor “el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob”. 38 Y Dios no es Dios de muertos, sino de vivos, pues para él todos ellos viven.

41 Entonces fue Jesús quien les preguntó:

The Authority of Jesus Questioned(A)
20 One day as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple courts(B) and proclaiming the good news,(C) the chief priests and the teachers of the law, together with the elders, came up to him. 2 “Tell us by what authority you are doing these things,” they said. “Who gave you this authority?”(D)
3 He replied, “I will also ask you a question. Tell me: 4 John’s baptism(E)—was it from heaven, or of human origin?”
5 They discussed it among themselves and said, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’ 6 But if we say, ‘Of human origin,’ all the people(F) will stone us, because they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”(G)
7 So they answered, “We don’t know where it was from.”
8 Jesus said, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I am doing these things.”
The Parable of the Tenants(H)
9 He went on to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard,(I) rented it to some farmers and went away for a long time.(J) 10 At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants so they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed. 11 He sent another servant, but that one also they beat and treated shamefully and sent away empty-handed. 12 He sent still a third, and they wounded him and threw him out.
13 “Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my son, whom I love;(K) perhaps they will respect him.’
14 “But when the tenants saw him, they talked the matter over. ‘This is the heir,’ they said. ‘Let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’ 15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
“What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and kill those tenants(L) and give the vineyard to others.”
When the people heard this, they said, “God forbid!”
17 Jesus looked directly at them and asked, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written:
18 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.”(N)
19 The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him(O) immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.(P)
Paying Taxes to Caesar(Q)
20 Keeping a close watch on him, they sent spies, who pretended to be sincere. They hoped to catch Jesus in something he said,(R) so that they might hand him over to the power and authority of the governor.(S) 21 So the spies questioned him: “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach what is right, and that you do not show partiality but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.(T) 22 Is it right for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?”
23 He saw through their duplicity and said to them, 24 “Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?”
“Caesar’s,” they replied.
25 He said to them, “Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s,(U) and to God what is God’s.”
26 They were unable to trap him in what he had said there in public. And astonished by his answer, they became silent.
The Resurrection and Marriage(V)
27 Some of the Sadducees,(W) who say there is no resurrection,(X) came to Jesus with a question. 28 “Teacher,” they said, “Moses wrote for us that if a man’s brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and raise up offspring for his brother.(Y) 29 Now there were seven brothers. The first one married a woman and died childless. 30 The second 31 and then the third married her, and in the same way the seven died, leaving no children. 32 Finally, the woman died too. 33 Now then, at the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?”
34 Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35 But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come(Z) and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36 and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children,(AA) since they are children of the resurrection. 37 But in the account of the burning bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’[b](AB) 38 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him all are alive.”
39 Some of the teachers of the law responded, “Well said, teacher!” 40 And no one dared to ask him any more questions.(AC)
Whose Son Is the Messiah?(AD)
41 Then Jesus said to them, “Why is it said that the Messiah is the son of David?(AE) 42 David himself declares in the Book of Psalms:
“‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
43 until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”’[c](AF)
44 David calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”
Warning Against the Teachers of the Law
45 While all the people were listening, Jesus said to his disciples, 46 “Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.(AG) 47 They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”

15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?
16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
19 And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Caesar, or no?
23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?
24 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.
25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.
26 And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.
27 Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,
28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man's brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
29 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.
30 And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.
31 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.
32 Last of all the woman died also.
33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:
35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
39 Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.
40 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.
41 And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David's son?
42 And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
43 Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
44 David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?
45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,
46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
47 Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
