²⁴“给我一个银币看看，上面是谁的像，谁的名号？”他们说：“凯撒的。” ²⁵耶稣说：“这样，凯撒的应当归给凯撒，　神的应当归给　神。” ²⁶他们在群众面前，不能抓住耶稣的把柄，又希奇他的回答，就沉默下来。

²⁴“Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?”

“Caesar’s,” they replied.

²⁵He said to them, “Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s,^(A) and to God what is God’s.”

²⁶They were unable to trap him in what he had said there in public. And astonished by his answer, they became silent.

²⁴Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.

²⁵And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar's, and unto God the things which be God's.

²⁶And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.
