耶稣降生
2 当那些日子，恺撒奥古斯都有旨意下来，叫天下人民都报名上册。 2 这是居里扭做叙利亚巡抚的时候，头一次行报名上册的事。 3 众人各归各城，报名上册。 4 约瑟也从加利利的拿撒勒城上犹太去，到了大卫的城，名叫伯利恒，因他本是大卫一族一家的人， 5 要和他所聘之妻马利亚一同报名上册。那时马利亚的身孕已经重了。 6 他们在那里的时候，马利亚的产期到了， 7 就生了头胎的儿子，用布包起来，放在马槽里，因为客店里没有地方。
天使报喜信给牧羊的人
8 在伯利恒之野地里有牧羊的人，夜间按着更次看守羊群。 9 有主的使者站在他们旁边，主的荣光四面照着他们，牧羊的人就甚惧怕。 10 那天使对他们说：“不要惧怕，我报给你们大喜的信息，是关乎万民的。 11 因今天在大卫的城里，为你们生了救主，就是主基督。 12 你们要看见一个婴孩，包着布，卧在马槽里，那就是记号了。” 13 忽然有一大队天兵，同那天使赞美神说： 14 “在至高之处荣耀归于神！在地上平安归于他所喜悦的人[a]！”
15 众天使离开他们升天去了，牧羊的人彼此说：“我们往伯利恒去，看看所成的事，就是主所指示我们的。” 16 他们急忙去了，就寻见马利亚和约瑟，又有那婴孩卧在马槽里。 17 既然看见，就把天使论这孩子的话传开了。 18 凡听见的，就诧异牧羊之人对他们所说的话。 19 马利亚却把这一切的事存在心里，反复思想。 20 牧羊的人回去了，因所听见、所看见的一切事正如天使向他们所说的，就归荣耀于神，赞美他。
21 满了八天，就给孩子行割礼，与他起名叫耶稣，这就是没有成胎以前天使所起的名。
献头生子于主
22 按摩西律法满了洁净的日子，他们带着孩子上耶路撒冷去，要把他献于主， 23 正如主的律法上所记：“凡头生的男子，必称圣归主。” 24 又要照主的律法上所说，“或用一对斑鸠，或用两只雏鸽”献祭。
西面见婴孩愿安然去世
25 在耶路撒冷有一个人名叫西面，这人又公义又虔诚，素常盼望以色列的安慰者来到，又有圣灵在他身上。 26 他得了圣灵的启示，知道自己未死以前，必看见主所立的基督。 27 他受了圣灵的感动，进入圣殿，正遇见耶稣的父母抱着孩子进来，要照律法的规矩办理。 28 西面就用手接过他来，称颂神，说： 29 “主啊，如今可以照你的话，释放仆人安然去世！ 30 因为我的眼睛已经看见你的救恩， 31 就是你在万民面前所预备的， 32 是照亮外邦人的光，又是你民以色列的荣耀。” 33 孩子的父母因这论耶稣的话就稀奇。 34 西面给他们祝福，又对孩子的母亲马利亚说：“这孩子被立，是要叫以色列中许多人跌倒、许多人兴起，又要做毁谤的话柄， 35 叫许多人心里的意念显露出来。你自己的心也要被刀刺透。”
女先知亚拿称谢神
36 又有女先知名叫亚拿，是亚设支派法内力的女儿，年纪已经老迈，从做童女出嫁的时候，同丈夫住了七年就寡居了， 37 现在已经八十四岁[b]，并不离开圣殿，禁食、祈求，昼夜侍奉神。 38 正当那时，她进前来称谢神，将孩子的事对一切盼望耶路撒冷得救赎的人讲说。 39 约瑟和马利亚照主的律法办完了一切的事，就回加利利，到自己的城拿撒勒去了。
40 孩子渐渐长大，强健起来，充满智慧，又有神的恩在他身上。
孩童耶稣在圣殿听道
41 每年到逾越节，他父母就上耶路撒冷去。 42 当他十二岁的时候，他们按着节期的规矩上去。 43 守满了节期，他们回去，孩童耶稣仍旧在耶路撒冷，他的父母并不知道， 44 以为他在同行的人中间。走了一天的路程，就在亲族和熟识的人中找他， 45 既找不着，就回耶路撒冷去找他。 46 过了三天，就遇见他在殿里，坐在教师中间，一面听一面问。
顺从父母
47 凡听见他的，都稀奇他的聪明和他的应对。 48 他父母看见就很稀奇。他母亲对他说：“我儿，为什么向我们这样行呢？看哪，你父亲和我伤心来找你！” 49 耶稣说：“为什么找我呢？岂不知我应当以我父的事为念吗？[c]” 50 他所说的这话，他们不明白。 51 他就同他们下去，回到拿撒勒，并且顺从他们。他母亲把这一切的事都存在心里。
52 耶稣的智慧和身量[d]，并神和人喜爱他的心，都一齐增长。

Nacimiento de Jesús
2 Aconteció en aquellos días que salió un edicto de César(A) Augusto, para que se hiciera un censo de todo el mundo habitado[a](B). 2 Este fue el primer censo que se levantó[b] cuando Cirenio era gobernador de Siria(C). 3 Todos se dirigían a inscribirse en el censo, cada uno a su ciudad. 4 También José subió de Galilea, de la ciudad de Nazaret, a Judea, a la ciudad de David que se llama Belén, por ser él de la casa y de la familia de David(D), 5 para inscribirse junto con María, comprometida para casarse con él, la cual estaba encinta.
6 Sucedió que mientras estaban ellos allí, se cumplieron los días de su alumbramiento. 7 Y dio a luz a su Hijo primogénito(E); lo envolvió en pañales y lo acostó en un pesebre, porque no había lugar para ellos en el mesón.
Los pastores y los ángeles
8 En la misma región había pastores que estaban en el campo[c], cuidando sus rebaños durante las vigilias de la noche. 9 Y un ángel del Señor se les presentó(F), y la gloria del Señor los rodeó de resplandor, y tuvieron gran temor. 10 Pero el ángel les dijo: «No teman(G), porque les traigo buenas nuevas de gran gozo que serán para todo el pueblo; 11 porque les ha nacido hoy, en la ciudad de David, un Salvador(H), que es Cristo[d](I) el Señor(J). 12 Esto les servirá de señal(K): hallarán a un Niño envuelto en pañales y acostado en un pesebre».

15 Cuando los ángeles se fueron[g] al cielo, los pastores se decían unos a otros: «Vayamos, pues, hasta Belén y veamos esto que ha sucedido, que el Señor nos ha dado a saber».
16 Fueron a toda prisa, y hallaron a María y a José, y al Niño acostado en el pesebre. 17 Cuando lo vieron, dieron a saber lo[h] que se les había dicho acerca de este Niño. 18 Y todos los que lo oyeron se maravillaron de las cosas que les fueron dichas por los pastores. 19 Pero María atesoraba todas estas cosas, reflexionando sobre ellas en su corazón(N). 20 Y los pastores se volvieron, glorificando y alabando a Dios(O) por todo lo que habían oído y visto, tal como se les había dicho.
21 Cuando se cumplieron los ocho días para circuncidar al Niño(P), le pusieron por nombre Jesús, el nombre dado por el ángel antes de que Él fuera concebido en el seno materno(Q).

25 Había en Jerusalén un hombre que se llamaba Simeón. 29 «Ahora, Señor, permite que Tu siervo se vaya

31 La cual has preparado en presencia de todos los pueblos;

Y gloria de Tu pueblo Israel».
33 Y los padres del Niño[n](AC) estaban asombrados de las cosas que de Él se decían. 34 Simeón los bendijo, y dijo a Su madre(AD) María: «Este Niño ha sido puesto para caída y levantamiento[o] de muchos(AE) en Israel, y para ser señal de contradicción, 35 y una espada traspasará aun tu propia alma, a fin de que sean revelados los pensamientos de muchos corazones».
36 Y había una profetisa(AF), Ana, hija de Fanuel, de la tribu de Aser(AG). Ella era de edad muy avanzada[p], y había vivido con su marido(AH) siete años después de su matrimonio[q], 37 y después de viuda, hasta los ochenta y cuatro años. Nunca se alejaba del templo, sirviendo noche y día con ayunos y oraciones(AI). 38 Llegando ella en ese preciso momento[r], daba gracias a Dios y hablaba del Niño a todos los que esperaban la redención de Jerusalén(AJ).

41 Los padres de Jesús acostumbraban ir a Jerusalén todos los años a la fiesta de la Pascua(AM). 42 Y cuando Él cumplió doce años, subieron allá conforme a la costumbre de la fiesta. 43 Al regresar ellos, después de haber pasado todos los días de la fiesta(AN), el niño Jesús se quedó en Jerusalén sin que lo supieran Sus padres, 44 y suponiendo que iba en la caravana, anduvieron camino de un día, y comenzaron a buscar a Jesús entre los familiares y conocidos.
45 Cuando no lo encontraron, volvieron y lo buscaron en Jerusalén. 46 Después de tres días lo encontraron en el templo, sentado en medio de los maestros, escuchándolos y haciéndoles preguntas. 47 Todos los que le oían estaban asombrados de Su entendimiento y de Sus respuestas(AO). 48 Cuando Sus padres lo vieron, se quedaron maravillados; y Su madre(AP) le dijo: «Hijo, ¿por qué nos has tratado de esta manera? Mira, Tu padre(AQ) y yo te hemos estado buscando[s] llenos de angustia».
49 Entonces Él les dijo: «¿Por qué me buscaban? ¿Acaso no sabían que me era necesario estar en la casa de Mi Padre(AR)?». 50 Pero ellos no entendieron(AS) las palabras que Él les había dicho. 51 Descendió con sus padres y vino a Nazaret(AT), y continuó sujeto a ellos. Y Su madre(AU) atesoraba todas estas cosas[t] en su corazón(AV). 52 Y Jesús crecía en sabiduría, en estatura[u] y en gracia para con Dios(AW) y los hombres.

Mary Gives Birth In Bethlehem, Where She And Joseph Went Because of The Roman Census
2 Now it came about during those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus[a] that all the world should be registered[b]. 2 This first[c] registration took place while Quirinius was being-governor of Syria. 3 And they were all going to register-themselves[d]— each one to his own city[e]. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem— because of his being from the house and family of David— 5 so as to register himself with Mary, the one having been promised-in-marriage to him, being pregnant. 6 And it came about during their being there that the days were fulfilled that she might give-birth. 7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son. And she wrapped Him in swaddling-cloths[f], and laid Him in a manger[g], because there was not a place for them in the inn.
Angels Announce The Birth of The Savior To Shepherds In The Field
8 And shepherds were in the same region, living-in-the-fields and watching over their flock for watches of the night. 9 And an angel of the Lord stood near them, and the glory of the Lord shined around them, and they feared a great fear. 10 And the angel said to them, “Do not be fearing. For behold— I am announcing-as-good-news to you a great joy which will be for all the people, 11 because[h] a Savior was born for you today in the city of David, Who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign for you: you will find a baby having been wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger”. 13 And suddenly a multitude of the heavenly host was with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest [heavens]. And peace on earth among people of [i] [His] good-will[j]”. 15 And it came about that when the angels departed from them into heaven, the shepherds were saying to one another, “Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing having taken place which the Lord made-known to us”. 16 And they came, having hurried, and found both Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger. 17 And having seen Him, they made-known about the thing having been spoken to them about this Child. 18 And all the ones having heard it marveled about the things having been spoken to them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary was preserving[k] all these things, pondering them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for everything which they heard and saw, just as it was spoken to them.
His Name Is Called Jesus
21 And when eight days were fulfilled that they might circumcise Him, His name was indeed called Jesus— the name having been named by the angel before[l] He was conceived in the womb.
The Parents Bring Jesus To The Temple To Redeem Him Before The Lord
22 And when the days of their purification according to the Law of Moses were fulfilled[m], they brought Him up to Jerusalem so as to present Him to the Lord 23 just as it has been written in the Law of the Lord [in Ex 13:2], that “every male opening the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”; 24 and that she might give a sacrifice in accordance with the thing having been said in the Law of the Lord [in Lev 12:8]: “a pair of turtledoves or two young ones of pigeons”.
Simeon Recognizes The Child As The Messiah, But a Sword Will Pierce Mary’s Soul
25 And behold— a man was in Jerusalem for whom the name was Simeon. And this man was righteous and reverent[n], waiting-for the consolation of Israel. And the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he would see the Christ of the Lord. 27 And he came in the Spirit into the temple. And at the parents bringing-in the child Jesus that they might do for Him according to the thing[o] having become-a-custom from the Law, 28 he also took Him into his arms. And he blessed God, and said, 29 “Now You are releasing Your slave in peace in accordance with Your word, Master, 30 because my eyes saw Your salvation 31 which You prepared in the presence of all the peoples— 32 the light for the revelation of the Gentiles, and the glory of Your people Israel”. 33 And His father and mother were marveling at the things being spoken about Him. 34 And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, “Behold— this One is appointed[p] for[q] the falling and rising of many in Israel, and for[r] a sign being spoken-against[s]— 35 and indeed a sword will pierce the soul of you yourself— so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed”.
Anna The Prophet Thanks God For the Child
36 And there was Anna— a prophet, a daughter of Phanuel, from the tribe of Asher. This one was advanced in her many days, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity, 37 and herself being a widow up-to[t] eighty four years, who was not departing from the temple, serving[u] night and day with fastings and prayers. 38 And having come-upon them at the very hour, she was returning-thanks to God, and was speaking about Him to all the ones waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.
The Family Returns To Nazareth In Galilee
39 And when they finished all the things according to the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee— to their own city, Nazareth. 40 And the Child was growing and becoming strong, while being filled with wisdom. And the grace of God was upon Him.
In Jerusalem At Age Twelve, Jesus Stays Behind When His Parents Leave For Home
41 And His parents were going to Jerusalem yearly for the Feast of the Passover. 42 And when He became twelve years old— they going up in accordance with the custom of the Feast, 43 and having completed the days— during their returning, the boy Jesus stayed-behind in Jerusalem. And His parents did not know it, 44 but having thought that He was in the caravan[v], they went a day’s journey. And they were searching-for Him among the relatives and the acquaintances. 45 And not having found Him, they returned to Jerusalem, searching-for Him.
Jesus Is Found In The Temple Listening To And Questioning The Teachers
46 And it came about after three days that they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening-to them and questioning them. 47 And all the ones listening-to Him were astonished at His understanding and His answers. 48 And having seen Him, they were astounded. And His mother said to Him, “Child, why did you do[w] us like this? Behold— Your father and I were looking-for You, while suffering-pain”. 49 And He said to them, “Why is it that you were looking-for Me? Did you not know that I must be in[x] the things of My[y] Father? 50 And they did not understand the thing which He spoke to them. 51 And He went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was being subject to them. And His mother was keeping all these things in her heart. 52 And Jesus was advancing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and people.

The Birth of Jesus
2 In those days Caesar Augustus(A) issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.(B) 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.)(C) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem(D) the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him(E) and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel(F) of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.(G) I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior(H) has been born to you; he is the Messiah,(I) the Lord.(J) 12 This will be a sign(K) to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace(L) to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.(M) 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.(N) 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God(O) for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child,(P) he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.(Q)
Jesus Presented in the Temple
22 When the time came for the purification rites required by the Law of Moses,(R) Joseph and Mary took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord 23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”[b]),(S) 24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: “a pair of doves or two young pigeons.”[c](T)
25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout.(U) He was waiting for the consolation of Israel,(V) and the Holy Spirit was on him. 26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. 27 Moved by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. When the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the custom of the Law required,(W) 28 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:
29 “Sovereign Lord, as you have promised,(X)
you may now dismiss[d] your servant in peace.(Y)
30 For my eyes have seen your salvation,(Z)
31 which you have prepared in the sight of all nations:
32 a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
and the glory of your people Israel.”(AA)
33 The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him. 34 Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother:(AB) “This child is destined to cause the falling(AC) and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”
36 There was also a prophet,(AD) Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, 37 and then was a widow until she was eighty-four.[e](AE) She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.(AF) 38 Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.(AG)
39 When Joseph and Mary had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee to their own town of Nazareth.(AH) 40 And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.(AI)
The Boy Jesus at the Temple
41 Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover.(AJ) 42 When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. 43 After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 44 Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 45 When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46 After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47 Everyone who heard him was amazed(AK) at his understanding and his answers. 48 When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother(AL) said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father(AM) and I have been anxiously searching for you.”
49 “Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?”[f](AN) 50 But they did not understand what he was saying to them.(AO)
51 Then he went down to Nazareth with them(AP) and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.(AQ) 52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.(AR)
