16 耶穌又對門徒說：“有一個財主的管家，有人在他主人面前告他浪費主人的財物。 2 主人把他叫來，對他說：‘我聽見關於你的是怎麼一回事呢？把你管理的帳目交代清楚，因為你不能再作管家了。’ 3 那管家心裡說：‘主人不要我再作管家了，我作甚麼才好呢？鋤地吧，沒有力氣！討飯吧，怕羞！ 4 我知道要怎麼作了，好使人在我離開管家的職務以後，接我到他們家裡去。’ 5 於是把欠他主人債的人，一個一個地叫來，問頭一個說：‘你欠我主人多少？’ 6 他說：‘四千公升油。’管家說：‘拿你的欠單去，快坐下寫二千。’ 7 又問一個說：‘你欠多少？’他說：‘四萬公升麥子。’管家說：‘拿你的欠單去，寫三萬。’ 8 主人就誇獎這不義的管家作事機警；因為在應付自己的世事上，今世之子比光明之子更精明。 9 我告訴你們，要用不義的錢財（“錢財”亞蘭文是“瑪門”）去結交朋友，好叫錢財無用的時候，他們可以接你們到永恆的帳棚裡。 10 在最小的事上忠心的，在大事上也忠心；在最小的事上不義的，在大事上也不義。 11 如果你們在不義的錢財上不忠心，誰還把真實的錢財託付給你們呢？ 12 如果你們在別人的東西上不忠心，誰還把你們自己的東西交給你們呢？
不能服事兩個主人(A)
13 “一個家僕不能服事兩個主人；他若不是恨這個愛那個，就是忠於這個輕視那個。你們不能服事 神，又服事金錢。” 14 貪財的法利賽人聽見這些話，就嗤笑耶穌。 15 耶穌對他們說：“你們在人面前自稱為義， 神卻知道你們的心；因為人所高舉的， 神卻看作是可憎惡的。 16 律法和先知到約翰就結束了。從此， 神的國的福音就傳開了，人人都要努力進去。 17 天地過去，要比律法的一點一畫失效還容易呢。 18 凡休妻另娶的，就犯了姦淫；娶被丈夫所休的，也是犯了姦淫。
財主與拉撒路

Darby Translation
16 And he said also to [his] disciples, There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and *he* was accused to him as wasting his goods.
2 And having called him, he said to him, What [is] this that I hear of thee? give the reckoning of thy stewardship, for thou canst be no longer steward.
3 And the steward said within himself, What shall I do; for my lord is taking the stewardship from me? I am not able to dig; I am ashamed to beg.
4 I know what I will do, that when I shall have been removed from the stewardship I may be received into their houses.
5 And having called to [him] each one of the debtors of his own lord, he said to the first, How much owest thou to my lord?
6 And he said, A hundred baths of oil. And he said to him, Take thy writing and sit down quickly and write fifty.
7 Then he said to another, And thou, how much dost thou owe? And he said, A hundred cors of wheat. And he says to him, Take thy writing and write eighty.
8 And the lord praised the unrighteous steward because he had done prudently. For the sons of this world are, for their own generation, more prudent than the sons of light.
9 And *I* say to you, Make to yourselves friends with the mammon of unrighteousness, that when it fails ye may be received into the eternal tabernacles.
10 He that is faithful in the least is faithful also in much; and he that is unrighteous in the least is unrighteous also in much.
11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who shall entrust to you the true?
12 and if ye have not been faithful in that which is another's, who shall give to you your own?
13 No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and will love the other, or he will cleave to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things, and mocked him.
15 And he said to them, *Ye* are they who justify themselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for what amongst men is highly thought of is an abomination before God.
16 The law and the prophets [were] until John: from that time the glad tidings of the kingdom of God are announced, and every one forces his way into it.
17 But it is easier that the heaven and the earth should pass away than that one tittle of the law should fail.
18 Every one who puts away his wife and marries another commits adultery; and every one that marries one put away from a husband commits adultery.
19 Now there was a rich man and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, making good cheer in splendour every day.
20 And [there was] a poor man, by name Lazarus, [who] was laid at his gateway full of sores,
21 and desiring to be filled with the crumbs which fell from the table of the rich man; but the dogs also coming licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass that the poor man died, and that he was carried away by the angels into the bosom of Abraham. And the rich man also died and was buried.
23 And in hades lifting up his eyes, being in torments, he sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he crying out said, Father Abraham, have compassion on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am suffering in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Child, recollect that *thou* hast fully received thy good things in thy lifetime, and likewise Lazarus evil things. But now he is comforted here, and *thou* art in suffering.
26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm is fixed, so that those who desire to pass hence to you cannot, nor do they who [desire to cross] from there pass over unto us.
27 And he said, I beseech thee then, father, that thou wouldest send him to the house of my father,
28 for I have five brothers, so that he may earnestly testify to them, that they also may not come to this place of torment.
29 But Abraham says to him, They have Moses and the prophets: let them hear them.
30 But he said, Nay, father Abraham, but if one from the dead should go to them, they will repent.
31 And he said to him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, not even if one rise from among [the] dead will they be persuaded.

The Parable of the Dishonest Steward
16 He told His disciples: “There was a rich man who had a steward who was accused to the man of wasting his resources. 2 So he called him and said, ‘How is it that I hear this about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you may no longer be steward.’
3 “Then the steward said to himself, ‘What shall I do, for my master is taking away the stewardship from me? I cannot dig. I am ashamed to beg. 4 I know what to do so that, when I am removed from the stewardship, others may receive me into their houses.’
5 “So he called each of his master’s debtors, and said to the first, ‘How much do you owe my master?’
6 “He said, ‘Eight hundred gallons[a] of oil.’
“He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write four hundred.’
7 “Then he said to another, ‘And how much do you owe?’
“He said, ‘One thousand bushels[b] of wheat.’
“He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and write eight hundred.’
8 “The master commended the dishonest steward, because he had acted prudently. For the sons of this world are wiser in their own generation than the sons of light. 9 I say to you, make friends for yourself by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when you fall short, they may receive you into eternal dwellings.
10 “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much. And he who is dishonest in the least is dishonest also in much. 11 So if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will commit to your trust the true riches? 12 And if you have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who will give you that which is your own?
13 “No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”
The Law and the Kingdom of God(A)
14 The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things and derided Him. 15 He said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is highly esteemed before men is an abomination before God.
16 “The Law and the Prophets were preached until John. Since then the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it. 17 It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of the law to fail.
18 “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and whoever marries her who is divorced by her husband commits adultery.
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19 “There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20 There was also a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores, who had been placed at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed the crumbs falling from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 “It came to pass that the beggar died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s presence. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham from a distance and Lazarus in his presence. 24 So he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. For I am tormented in this flame.’
25 “But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things. But now he is comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf, so that those who would pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’
27 “He said, ‘Then I pray you, father, to send him to my father’s house, 28 for I have five brothers, to testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.’
29 “Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets. Let them hear them.’
30 “He said, ‘No, father Abraham. But if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’
31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise from the dead.’ ”
