差遣門徒
10 事後，主揀選了七十個門徒[a]，差遣他們兩個兩個地出去，先到祂將要去的城鎮村莊， 2 並對他們說：「要收割的莊稼很多，工人卻很少，因此你們要祈求莊稼的主人派更多的工人去收割祂的莊稼。
3 「你們去吧！我差你們出去，就像把羊羔送入狼群。 4 錢袋、背包和鞋都不要帶，在路上也不要與人寒暄。 5 無論到哪一戶人家，要先說，『願祝福臨到這家！』 6 如果那裡有配得祝福的人，祝福自然會臨到那人，否則祝福仍歸給你們。 7 不要搬來搬去，要固定住在一家，接受那家的款待，因為工人理應得到工錢。
8 「你們無論到哪一個城鎮，如果人們接待你們，就吃他們擺上的飲食。 9 要醫治那城裡的病人，告訴他們，『上帝的國臨近你們了。』 10 但如果哪一個城鎮的人不歡迎你們，你們就到街上宣告， 11 『就連你們城裡的塵土粘在我們腳上，我們都要跺掉，但是要知道，上帝的國臨近了。』 12 我告訴你們，在審判之日，那城所受的刑罰將比所多瑪所受的還重！
13 「哥拉汛啊，你大禍臨頭了！伯賽大啊，你大禍臨頭了！我在你們當中所行的神蹟，如果行在泰爾和西頓，那裡的人早就身披麻衣，頭蒙灰塵，坐在地上悔改了。 14 在審判之日，你們將比泰爾和西頓受更重的刑罰！
15 「迦百農啊，你將被提升到天上嗎？不！你將被打落到陰間。」
16 耶穌繼續對門徒說：「誰聽從你們，就是聽從我；誰拒絕你們，就是拒絕我；拒絕我的，就是拒絕差我來的那位。」
17 七十個門徒興高采烈地回來說：「主啊，我們奉你的名行事，甚至降服了鬼魔。」
18 耶穌回答說：「我看見撒旦像閃電一樣從天上墜下。 19 我已經給你們權柄，使你們能踐踏蛇和蠍子，勝過仇敵的權勢，沒有什麼能傷害你們。 20 然而，不要為了邪靈向你們降服而高興，要因你們的名字記錄在天上而高興。」
21 就在這時候，耶穌受聖靈感動，充滿喜樂地說：「父啊，天地的主，我頌讚你！因為你把這些事向聰明、有學問的人隱藏起來，卻啟示給像孩童一般的人。父啊！是的，這正是你的美意。 22 我父將一切交給了我。除了父，沒有人認識子；除了子和受子啟示的人，沒有人認識父。」
23 隨後，耶穌轉身悄悄地對門徒說：「誰看到你們今日所看到的，誰就有福了。 24 我告訴你們，以前有許多先知和君王渴望看見你們所看見的，聽見你們所聽見的，卻未能如願。」
好撒瑪利亞人的比喻
25 有一次，一名律法教師站起來試探耶穌，說：「老師，我應該怎樣做才能得永生呢？」
26 耶穌反問他：「律法怎麼說？你怎麼理解？」
27 律法教師答道：「『你要全心、全情、全力、全意愛主——你的上帝』，又要『愛鄰如己』。」 28 耶穌說：「你答得對，照著去做就有永生了。」
29 律法教師想證明自己有理，就問：「那麼，誰是我的鄰居呢？」
30 耶穌回答說：「有個人從耶路撒冷去耶利哥，途中被劫。強盜剝了他的衣服，把他打個半死，丟在那裡，然後揚長而去。
31 「剛好有位祭司經過，看見那人躺在地上，連忙從旁邊繞過，繼續趕路。 32 又有個利未人經過，也跟先前那個祭司一樣從旁邊繞過去了。
33 「後來，有位撒瑪利亞人[b]經過，看見這個人，就動了慈心， 34 連忙上前用油和酒替他敷傷口，包紮妥當，然後把他扶上自己騎的牲口，帶到附近的客店照料。 35 次日還交給店主兩個銀幣，說，『請替我好好照顧這個人。如果錢不夠的話，等我回來再補給你。』 36 那麼，你認為這三個人中誰是被劫者的鄰居呢？」
37 律法教師說：「是那個同情他的人。」
耶穌說：「你去照樣做吧。」
上好的福分
38 耶穌和門徒去耶路撒冷的途中路過一個村莊，遇到一位名叫瑪大的女子接待他們到家裡作客。 39 瑪大的妹妹瑪麗亞坐在耶穌腳前聽道， 40 瑪大為了招待客人忙亂不已，於是上前對耶穌說：
「主啊，我妹妹讓我一個人伺候大家，你都不管嗎？請你叫她來幫幫我吧。」
41 耶穌對她說：「瑪大，瑪大，你為太多事情憂慮煩惱。 42 其實最要緊的事只有一件，瑪麗亞選擇了上好的，是奪不走的。」

Jesus Appoints Seventy-Two
10 After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two[a] others and sent them out two by two ahead of him[b] to every town and place where he was about to go.
2 He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. So ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest field. 3 Go your way. Look, I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. 4 Do not carry a money bag or traveler’s bag or sandals. Do not greet anyone along the way. 5 Whenever you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace be to this house.’ 6 And if a peaceful person is there, your peace will rest on him, but if not, it will return to you. 7 Remain in that same house, eating and drinking what they give you, because the worker is worthy of his pay. Do not keep moving from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and they welcome you, eat what is set before you. 9 Heal the sick who are in the town and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near you.’
10 “But whenever you enter a town and they do not welcome you, go out into its streets and say, 11 ‘Even the dust from your town that clings to our feet, we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this: The kingdom of God has come near.’ 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom on that day than for that town.
13 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you. 15 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to heaven? No, you will be brought down to hell.[c] 16 Whoever listens to you listens to me. Whoever rejects you rejects me. And whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”
17 The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name!”
18 He told them, “I was watching Satan fall like lightning from heaven. 19 Look, I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. And nothing will ever harm you. 20 Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names have been written in heaven.”
21 In that same hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and have revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, because this was pleasing in your sight.
22 [d]“Everything was handed over to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wants to reveal him.”
23 Turning to the disciples, he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! 24 Indeed, I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see the things that you are seeing, yet did not see them, and to hear the things that you are hearing, yet did not hear them.”
The Good Samaritan
25 Just then, an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus, saying, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
26 “What is written in the law?” he asked him. “What do you read there?”
27 He replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind;[e] and, love your neighbor as yourself.”[f]
28 He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this, and you will live.”
29 But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho. He fell among robbers who stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 It just so happened that a priest was going down that way. But when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 In the same way, a Levite also happened to go there, but when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 33 A Samaritan, as he traveled, came to where the man was. When he saw him, he felt sorry for the man. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them. He put him on his own animal, took him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 The next day, when he left, he took out two denarii,[g] gave them to the innkeeper, and said, ‘Take care of him. Whatever extra you spend, I will repay you when I return.’ 36 Which of these three do you think acted like a neighbor to the man who fell among robbers?”
37 “The one who showed mercy to him,” he replied.
Then Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
Mary and Martha
38 As they went on their way, Jesus came into a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. 39 She had a sister named Mary, who was sitting at the Lord’s feet and was listening to his word. 40 But Martha was distracted with all her serving. She came over and said, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to help me.”
41 The Lord answered and told her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but one thing is needed. In fact, Mary has chosen that better part, which will not be taken away from her.”

2 Therefore he said unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3 Go; behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
4 Carry neither purse nor provision bag nor shoes, and greet no one on the way.
5 And into whatever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
6 And if indeed there is a son of peace there, your peace shall rest upon it; if not, it shall turn to you again.
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
8 And into whatever city ye enter and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you
9 and heal the sick that are therein and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come near unto you.
10 But into whatever city ye enter and they receive you not, go out into the streets of the same and say,
11 Even the very dust of your city which cleaves on us we do wipe off against you; notwithstanding be ye sure of this that the kingdom of God is come near unto you.
12 But I say unto you that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.
13 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which have been done in you, they would have repented a long while ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
14 Therefore it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.
15 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto the heavens, shalt be thrust down to Hades.
16 He that hears you hears me, and he that despises you despises me, and he that despises me despises him that sent me.
17 ¶ And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject unto us in thy name.
18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
20 Notwithstanding, rejoice not in this, that the spirits are subject unto you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in the heavens.
21 In that same hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent and hast revealed them unto babes; even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
22 All things are delivered to me of my Father, and no one knows who the Son is, but the Father, and who the Father is, but the Son and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
23 And he turned him unto his disciples and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see,
24 for I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see those things which ye see and did not see them and to hear those things which ye hear and did not hear them.
25 ¶ And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
26 He said unto him, What is written in the law? How readest thou?
27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy strength and with all thy understanding, and thy neighbour as thyself.
28 And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right; do this, and thou shalt live.
29 But he, desiring to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment and wounded him and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 And it so happened that a certain priest came down that way; and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 And likewise a Levite, when he came near the place and looked on him, he passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was; and when he saw him, he was moved with compassion
34 and went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast and brought him to an inn and took care of him.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two denarius and gave them to the host and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37 And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go and do thou likewise.
38 ¶ Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard his word.
40 But Martha was cumbered about in much serving and came to him and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Bid her therefore that she help me.
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things;
42 but only one thing is necessary, and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

The Parable of the Good Samaritan(AE)
25 On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”(AF)
26 “What is written in the Law?” he replied. “How do you read it?”
27 He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’[c];(AG) and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[d]”(AH)
28 “You have answered correctly,” Jesus replied. “Do this and you will live.”(AI)

Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii[e] and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’
36 “Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
37 The expert in the law replied, “The one who had mercy on him.”
Jesus told him, “Go and do likewise.”
At the Home of Martha and Mary
38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha(AM) opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary,(AN) who sat at the Lord’s feet(AO) listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care(AP) that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried(AQ) and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[f](AR) Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
