神是滿有公義與權能的王
97 耶和華作王，願地快樂，
願眾海島都歡喜。
2 密雲和幽暗在他的四圍，
公義和公正是他寶座的根基。
3 有火走在他的前面，
燒盡他四圍的敵人。
4 他的閃電照亮世界，
大地看見了就戰慄。
5 在耶和華面前，就是在全地的主面前，
群山都像蠟一般融化。
6 諸天傳揚他的公義，
萬民得見他的榮耀。
7 願所有事奉雕刻的偶像的，
以虛無的偶像為誇口的，都蒙羞；
眾神哪！你們都要拜他。
8 耶和華啊！錫安聽見你的判斷就歡喜，
猶大的各城（“各城”原文作“女子”）也都快樂。
9 耶和華啊！因為你是全地的至高者；
你被尊崇，遠超過眾神之上。
10 你們愛耶和華的，都要恨惡罪惡；
耶和華保護聖民的性命，
救他們脫離惡人的手。
11 有亮光照耀（“照耀”有古抄本作“散播”）義人，
心裡正直的人得享喜樂。
12 義人哪！你們要靠耶和華歡喜，
要稱讚他的聖名。

97 The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.
2 Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.
3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.
4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O Lord.
9 For thou, Lord, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.
10 Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

1 The Lord is king; let the earth rejoice;
let the many islands be glad.(A)
2 Cloud and darkness surround him;
justice and right are the foundation of his throne.(B)
3 Fire goes before him,
consuming his foes on every side.
4 His lightening illumines the world;
the earth sees and trembles.(C)
5 The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.(D)
6 The heavens proclaim his justice;
all peoples see his glory.(E)

7 All who serve idols are put to shame,
who glory in worthless things;
all gods[b] bow down before him.(F)
8 Zion hears and is glad,
and the daughters of Judah rejoice
because of your judgments, O Lord.(G)
9 For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth,(H)
exalted far above all gods.
10 You who love the Lord, hate evil,
he protects the souls of the faithful,(I)
rescues them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light dawns for the just,
and gladness for the honest of heart.(J)

- Psalm 97 The hymn begins with God appearing in a storm, a traditional picture of some ancient Near Eastern gods (Ps 97:1–6); cf. Ps 18:8–16; Mi 1:3–4; Hb 3:3–15. Israel rejoices in the overthrowing of idol worshipers and their gods (Ps 97:7–9) and the rewarding of the faithful righteous (Ps 97:10–12).
- 97:7 All gods: divine beings thoroughly subordinate to Israel’s God. The Greek translates “angels,” an interpretation adopted by Hb 1:6.

2 Les nuages et l'obscurité l'environnent, La justice et l'équité sont la base de son trône.
3 Le feu marche devant lui, Et embrase à l'entour ses adversaires.
4 Ses éclairs illuminent le monde, La terre le voit et tremble;
5 Les montagnes se fondent comme la cire devant l'Éternel, Devant le Seigneur de toute la terre.
6 Les cieux publient sa justice, Et tous les peuples voient sa gloire.
