The Message
96 1-2 Sing God a brand-new song!
Earth and everyone in it, sing!
Sing to God—worship God!
2-3 Shout the news of his victory from sea to sea,
Take the news of his glory to the lost,
News of his wonders to one and all!
4-5 For God is great, and worth a thousand Hallelujahs.
His furious beauty puts the other gods to shame;
Pagan gods are mere tatters and rags.
5-6 God made the heavens—
Royal splendor radiates from him,
A powerful beauty sets him apart.
7 Bravo, God, Bravo!
Everyone join in the great shout: Encore!
In awe before the beauty, in awe before the might.
8-9 Bring gifts and celebrate,
Bow before the beauty of God,
Then to your knees—everyone worship!
10 Get out the message—God Rules!
He put the world on a firm foundation;
He treats everyone fair and square.
11 Let’s hear it from Sky,
With Earth joining in,
And a huge round of applause from Sea.
12 Let Wilderness turn cartwheels,
Animals, come dance,
Put every tree of the forest in the choir—
13 An extravaganza before God as he comes,
As he comes to set everything right on earth,
Set everything right, treat everyone fair.

Herren er jordens konge og dommer
96 Syng en ny sang for Herren,
lad hele jorden synge med.
2 Syng Herrens pris og lov hans navn,
fortæl om hans frelse hver eneste dag.
3 Lad alle folk høre om hans vældige undere,
fortæl om de forunderlige ting, han har gjort.
4 For Herren er stor, og æren er hans,
ingen andre guder er værd at tilbede.
5 Andre folks guder er falske guder,
men Herren har skabt både himlen og jorden.
6 Han udstråler kongelig værdighed,
styrke og skønhed kommer fra hans nærvær.
7 Pris Herren, alle verdens folk,
forstå hans herlighed og magt.
8 Giv Herren den ære, der tilkommer ham,
bring jeres gaver og tilbed i hans tempel.
9 Tilbed Herren i helligt skrud,
bøj knæ for ham, alle jordens folk.
10 Fortæl folkeslagene, at Herren er konge,
han skabte jorden på et sikkert fundament,
og han vil dømme alle folkeslag retfærdigt.
11 Lad himlen glæde sig og jorden juble,
lad havene bruse i lovprisning,
12 lad marken med sin afgrøde juble,
lad lovsangen suse i skovens træer,
13 for Herren kommer,
han er på vej for at dømme jorden.
Han dømmer verden med retfærdighed,
alle jordens folk får en fair behandling.

96 O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.
3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.
4 For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.
6 Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7 Give unto the Lord, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength.
8 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.
9 O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
10 Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
13 Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

96 Cantad a Jehová cántico nuevo;
Cantad a Jehová, toda la tierra.
2 Cantad a Jehová, bendecid su nombre;
Anunciad de día en día su salvación.
3 Proclamad entre las naciones su gloria,
En todos los pueblos sus maravillas.
4 Porque grande es Jehová, y digno de suprema alabanza;
Temible sobre todos los dioses.
5 Porque todos los dioses de los pueblos son ídolos;
Pero Jehová hizo los cielos.
6 Alabanza y magnificencia delante de él;
Poder y gloria en su santuario.
7 Tributad a Jehová, oh familias de los pueblos,
Dad a Jehová la gloria y el poder.
8 Dad a Jehová la honra debida a su nombre;
Traed ofrendas, y venid a sus atrios.
9 Adorad a Jehová en la hermosura de la santidad;(A)
Temed delante de él, toda la tierra.
10 Decid entre las naciones: Jehová reina.
También afirmó el mundo, no será conmovido;
Juzgará a los pueblos en justicia.
11 Alégrense los cielos, y gócese la tierra;
Brame el mar y su plenitud.
12 Regocíjese el campo, y todo lo que en él está;
