88 可拉后裔的诗歌，就是以斯拉人希幔的训诲诗，交于伶长。调用麻哈拉利暗俄。
1 耶和华拯救我的神啊，我昼夜在你面前呼吁。
2 愿我的祷告达到你面前，求你侧耳听我的呼求。
3 因为我心里满了患难，我的性命临近阴间。
4 我算和下坑的人同列，如同无力[a]的人一样。
5 我被丢在死人中，好像被杀的人躺在坟墓里，他们是你不再记念的，与你隔绝了。
6 你把我放在极深的坑里，在黑暗地方，在深处。
7 你的愤怒重压我身，你用一切的波浪困住我。（细拉）
8 你把我所认识的隔在远处，使我为他们所憎恶。我被拘困，不得出来。
9 我的眼睛因困苦而干瘪。耶和华啊，我天天求告你，向你举手。
10 你岂要行奇事给死人看吗？难道阴魂还能起来称赞你吗？（细拉）
11 岂能在坟墓里述说你的慈爱吗？岂能在灭亡中述说你的信实吗？
12 你的奇事岂能在幽暗里被知道吗？你的公义岂能在忘记之地被知道吗？
13 耶和华啊，我呼求你，我早晨的祷告要达到你面前。
14 耶和华啊，你为何丢弃我？为何掩面不顾我？
15 我自幼受苦，几乎死亡；我受你的惊恐，甚至慌张。
16 你的烈怒漫过我身，你的惊吓把我剪除。
17 这些终日如水环绕我，一齐都来围困我。
18 你把我的良朋密友隔在远处，使我所认识的人进入黑暗里。

88 耶和華，拯救我的上帝啊，
我晝夜不停地呼求你。
2 求你垂聽我的禱告，
傾聽我的呼求。
3 我飽經患難，
生命在死亡的邊緣。
4 我被列在下墳墓的人中，
我的精力耗盡。
5 我被扔在死人中，
如同被殺的人躺在墳墓裡，
被你遺忘，不再蒙你眷顧。
6 你已經把我扔在漆黑的深淵。
7 你的烈怒重重地壓著我，
如洶湧波濤把我淹沒。（細拉）
8 你使我眾叛親離，遭人唾棄。
我陷入困境，無路可逃。
9 我的眼睛因哭泣而視力模糊。
耶和華啊，我天天呼求你，
舉手向你呼求。
10 你要行神蹟給死人看嗎？
死人會起來讚美你嗎？（細拉）
11 墳墓裡的死人怎能宣揚你的慈愛呢？
滅亡的人怎能傳揚你的信實呢？
12 黑暗之地有誰知道你的神蹟呢？
在被遺忘之地有誰知道你的公義作為呢？
13 耶和華啊，我向你呼求，
我在清晨向你禱告。
14 耶和華啊，你為何棄絕我？
為何掩面不理我？
15 我從小受苦，幾乎喪命。
你使我驚恐不已，陷入絕望。
16 你的烈怒吞噬了我，
你可怕的攻擊毀滅了我。
17 這些災難如洪濤整天環繞我，
徹底圍住我。

88 O Lord, (B)God of my salvation,
I have cried out day and night before You.
2 Let my prayer come before You;
[b]Incline Your ear to my cry.
3 For my soul is full of troubles,
And my life (C)draws near to the grave.
4 I am counted with those who (D)go[c] down to the pit;
(E)I am like a man who has no strength,
5 [d]Adrift among the dead,
Like the slain who lie in the grave,
Whom You remember no more,
And who are cut off from Your hand.
6 You have laid me in the lowest pit,
In darkness, in the depths.
7 Your wrath lies heavy upon me,
And You have afflicted me with all (F)Your waves. Selah
8 (G)You have [e]put away my acquaintances far from me;
You have made me an abomination to them;
(H)I am shut up, and I cannot get out;
9 My eye wastes away because of affliction.
(I)Lord, I have called daily upon You;
I have stretched out my hands to You.
10 Will You work wonders for the dead?
Shall [f]the dead arise and praise You? Selah
11 Shall Your lovingkindness be declared in the grave?
Or Your faithfulness in the place of destruction?
12 Shall Your wonders be known in the dark?
And Your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
13 But to You I have cried out, O Lord,
And in the morning my prayer comes before You.
14 Lord, why do You cast off my soul?
Why do You hide Your face from me?
15 I have been afflicted and ready to die from my youth;
I suffer Your terrors;
I am distraught.
16 Your fierce wrath has gone over me;
Your terrors have [g]cut me off.
17 They came around me all day long like water;
They engulfed me altogether.
