Psalmul 87
Al korahiţilor. Un psalm. Un cântec.
1 El i-a pus temelia în munţii cei sfinţi.
2 Domnul iubeşte porţile Sionului
mai mult decât oricare altă locuinţă din Iacov.
3 Lucruri slăvite s-au spus despre tine,
cetate a lui Dumnezeu!Sela
4 Voi aminti Rahabul[a] şi Babilonul
ca fiind printre cei ce Mă cunosc
– chiar şi Filistia şi Tirul, alături de Cuş –
şi voi zice: „Acesta a fost născut acolo!“
5 Cât despre Sion se va zice:
„Acesta şi acela au fost născuţi în el.“
şi Însuşi Cel Preaînalt îl va întări.
6 Domnul va scrie în registrul popoarelor:
„Acesta s-a născut acolo.“Sela
7 Cântăreţii şi cei ce joacă spun:
„Toate izvoarele mele sunt în tine!“

Zion, the City of God
A psalm of the sons of Korah. A song.
1 His foundation is on the holy mountains.(A)
2 The Lord loves the gates of Zion
more than all the dwellings of Jacob.(B)
3 Glorious things are said about you,
city of God.(C)
4 “I will mention those who know Me:
Rahab, Babylon, Philistia, Tyre, and Cush—
each one was born there.”(D)
5 And it will be said of Zion,
“This one and that one were born in her.”
The Most High Himself will establish her.(E)
6 When He registers the peoples,
the Lord will record,
“This one was born there.”(F)
7 Singers and dancers alike will say,
“My whole source of joy is[a] in you.”(G)
