渴慕住在圣殿

可拉后裔的诗，交给乐长，用迦特乐器。

84 万军之耶和华啊，
你的居所多么美好！
²我深愿进入耶和华的院宇，
我的身心向永活的上帝欢呼。
³万军之耶和华，
我的王我的上帝啊，
在你的祭坛边，麻雀找到了家，
燕子筑巢养育幼雏。
⁴住在你殿里的人有福了！
他们不断地歌颂你。（细拉）

⁵靠你得力量、向往到锡安朝见你的人有福了！
⁶他们走过流泪谷，
这谷就变成泉源之地，
秋雨使谷中水塘遍布。
⁷他们越走越有力，
都要到锡安朝见上帝。
⁸万军之上帝耶和华啊，
求你听我的祷告；
雅各的上帝啊，求你垂听。（细拉）
⁹上帝啊，求你照看我们的盾牌，
垂顾你所膏立的王。
¹⁰在你的院宇住一日胜过在别处住千日！
我宁愿在我上帝的殿中看门，
也不愿住在恶人的帐篷里。
¹¹因为耶和华上帝是太阳，是盾牌；
祂赐下恩惠和尊荣，
不留下任何好处不赐给行为正直的人。
¹²万军之耶和华啊，
信靠你的人有福了！

Wishing to Be in the Temple

84 Lord of heaven’s armies,
    how lovely is your Temple!
²I want to be in
    the courtyards of the Lord’s Temple.
My whole being wants
    to be with the living God.
³The sparrows have found a home.
    And the swallows have nests.
They raise their young near your altars,
    Lord of heaven’s armies, my King and my God.
⁴Happy are the people who live at your Temple.
    They are always praising you. Selah

⁵Happy are those whose strength comes from you.
    They want to travel to Jerusalem.
⁶As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
    they make it like a spring.
    The autumn rains fill it with pools of water.
⁷The people get stronger as they go.
    And everyone meets with God in Jerusalem.

⁸Lord God of heaven’s armies, hear my prayer.
God of Jacob, listen to me. Selah
⁹God, look at our shield.
Be kind to your appointed king.

¹⁰One day in the courtyards of your Temple is better
    than a thousand days anywhere else.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the Temple of my God
    than live in the homes of the wicked.
¹¹The Lord God is like our sun and shield.
    The Lord gives us kindness and glory.
He does not hold back anything good
    from those whose life is innocent.
¹²Lord of heaven’s armies,
    happy are the people who trust you!
