渴慕朝见 神的必蒙福
可拉子孙的诗，交给诗班长，用“迦特”的乐器。
84 万军之耶和华啊！
你的居所多么可爱。
2 我的灵渴想切慕耶和华的院子，
我的心身向永活的 神欢呼。
3 万军之耶和华，我的王我的 神啊！
在你的祭坛那里，
麻雀找到了住处，
燕子也为自己找到了安置幼雏的巢。
4 住在你殿中的，都是有福的，
他们还要不断赞美你。（细拉）
5 靠你有力量，心中向往通到圣殿大道的，
这人是有福的。
6 他们经过干旱的山谷，
使这谷变为泉源之地，
更有秋雨使这谷到处都是水池。
7 他们行走，力上加力，
直到各人在锡安朝见 神。
8 耶和华万军的 神啊！
求你听我的祷告；
雅各的 神啊！
求你留心听。（细拉）
9 神啊！求你垂顾我们的盾牌，
求你看顾你的受膏者。
10 在你院子里住一日，
胜过在别处住千日；
宁愿站在我 神殿中的门槛上，
也不愿住在恶人的帐棚里。
11 因为耶和华 神是太阳，是盾牌，
耶和华赐下恩惠和光荣；
他没有留下一样好处，
不给那些行为正直的人。
12 万军之耶和华啊！
倚靠你的人是有福的。

84 万军之耶和华啊，
你的居所多么美好！
2 我深愿进入耶和华的院宇，
我的身心向永活的上帝欢呼。
3 万军之耶和华，
我的王我的上帝啊，
在你的祭坛边，麻雀找到了家，
燕子筑巢养育幼雏。
4 住在你殿里的人有福了！
他们不断地歌颂你。（细拉）
5 靠你得力量、向往到锡安朝见你的人有福了！
6 他们走过流泪谷，
这谷就变成泉源之地，
秋雨使谷中水塘遍布。
7 他们越走越有力，
都要到锡安朝见上帝。
8 万军之上帝耶和华啊，
求你听我的祷告；
雅各的上帝啊，求你垂听。（细拉）
9 上帝啊，求你照看我们的盾牌，
垂顾你所膏立的王。
10 在你的院宇住一日胜过在别处住千日！
我宁愿在我上帝的殿中看门，
也不愿住在恶人的帐篷里。
11 因为耶和华上帝是太阳，是盾牌；
祂赐下恩惠和尊荣，
不留下任何好处不赐给行为正直的人。

84 1 David driven forth of his country, 2 Desireth most ardently to come again to the tabernacle of the Lord and the assembly of the Saints to praise God, 4 pronouncing them blessed that may so do. 6 Then he praiseth the courage of the people, that pass through the wilderness to assemble themselves in Zion. 10 Finally, with praise of this matter and confidence of God’s goodness, he endeth the Psalm.
To him that excelleth upon Gittith. A Psalm committed to the sons of Korah.
1 O [a]Lord of hosts, how amiable are thy Tabernacles?
2 My soul longeth, yea, and fainted for the [b]courts of the Lord: for my heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God.
3 Yea, the sparrow hath found her an house, and the swallow a nest for her, where she may lay her young: even by thine [c]altars, O Lord of hosts, my king and my God.
4 Blessed are they that dwell in thine house, they will ever praise thee. Selah.
5 Blessed is the man whose [d]strength is in thee, and in whose heart are thy ways.
6 They going through the valley of [e]Baca, make wells therein: the rain also covereth the pools.
7 They go from [f]strength to strength, till every one appear before God in Zion.
8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer, hearken, O God of Jacob. Selah.
9 Behold, O God, our shield, and look upon the face of thine [g]Anointed.
10 For [h]a day in thy courts is better than a thousand other where: I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tabernacles of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is the sun and shield unto us: the Lord will give grace and glory, and no [i]good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

- Psalm 84:1 David complaineth that he cannot have access to the Church of God to make profession of his faith, and to profit in religion.
- Psalm 84:2 For none but the Priests could enter into the Sanctuary, and the rest of the people into the courts.
- Psalm 84:3 So that the poor birds have more liberty than I.
- Psalm 84:5 Who trusteth nothing in himself, but in thee only, and learneth of thee to rule his life.
- Psalm 84:6 That is of mulberry trees, which was a barren place: so that they which passed through, must dig pits for water: signifying, that no lets can hinder them that are fully bent to come to Christ’s Church, neither yet that God will ever fail them.
- Psalm 84:7 They are never weary but increase in strength and courage till they come to God’s house.
- Psalm 84:9 That is, for Christ’s sake, whose figure I represent.
- Psalm 84:10 He would wish to live but one day rather in God’s Church, than a thousand among the worldlings.
- Psalm 84:11 But will from time to time increase his blessings toward his more and more.
