神的威嚴，人的尊貴
大衛的詩，交給詩班長，用“迦特”的樂器。
8 耶和華我們的主啊！
你的名在全地是多麼威嚴，
你把你的榮美彰顯在天上。
2 因你仇敵的緣故，
你從小孩和嬰兒的口中，
得著了讚美（“得著了讚美”或譯：“建立了能力”），
使仇敵和報仇的無話可說。
3 我觀看你手所造的天，
和你所安放的月亮和星星。
4 啊！人算甚麼，你竟記念他？
世人算甚麼，你竟眷顧他？
5 你使他比天使（“天使”或譯：“ 神”）低微一點，
卻賜給他榮耀尊貴作冠冕。
6 你叫他管理你手所造的，
把萬物都放在他的腳下，
7 就是所有的牛羊、
田間的走獸、
8 空中的飛鳥、海裡的魚，
和海裡游行的水族。
9 耶和華我們的主啊！

Människosonens höghet och förnedring
1 För sångmästaren, enligt gittit.[a] En psalm av David.
2 Herre, vår Herre,
hur härligt är inte ditt namn
över hela jorden,
du som har satt ditt majestät på himlen.
3 Av barns och spädbarns mun
har du upprättat en makt[b]
för dina ovänners skull
till att förgöra fiende och hämnare.
4 När jag ser din himmel,
dina fingrars verk,
månen och stjärnorna som du har skapat,
5 vad är då en människa eftersom du tänker på henne,
en människoson eftersom du tar dig an honom?
6 En liten tid[c] lät du honom vara ringare än[d] Gud,
med ära och härlighet krönte du honom.
7 Du satte honom till Herre över dina händers verk,
allt har du lagt under hans fötter:
8 får och oxar, liksom vildmarkens djur,
9 himlens fåglar och havets fiskar,
allt som rör sig i haven.
10 Herre, vår Herre,
hur härligt är inte ditt namn
över hela jorden!

1 Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name(A) in all the earth!
You have set your glory(B)
in the heavens.(C)
2 Through the praise of children and infants
you have established a stronghold(D) against your enemies,
to silence the foe(E) and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens,(F)
the work of your fingers,(G)
the moon and the stars,(H)
which you have set in place,
4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?[c](I)
5 You have made them[d] a little lower than the angels[e](J)
and crowned them[f] with glory and honor.(K)
6 You made them rulers(L) over the works of your hands;(M)
you put everything under their[g] feet:(N)
7 all flocks and herds,(O)
and the animals of the wild,(P)
8 the birds in the sky,
