74 亚萨的训诲诗。
1 神啊，你为何永远丢弃我们呢？你为何向你草场的羊发怒，如烟冒出呢？
2 求你记念你古时所得来的会众，就是你所赎做你产业支派的，并记念你向来所居住的锡安山。
3 求你举步去看那日久荒凉之地，仇敌在圣所中所行的一切恶事。
4 你的敌人在你会中吼叫，他们竖了自己的旗为记号。
5 他们好像人扬起斧子，砍伐林中的树。
6 圣所中一切雕刻的，他们现在用斧子锤子打坏了。
7 他们用火焚烧你的圣所，亵渎你名的居所，拆毁到地。
8 他们心里说：“我们要尽行毁灭！”他们就在遍地把神的会所都烧毁了。
9 我们不见我们的标帜，不再有先知，我们内中也没有人知道，这灾祸要到几时呢。
10 神啊，敌人辱骂要到几时呢？仇敌亵渎你的名要到永远吗？
11 你为什么缩回你的右手？求你从怀中伸出来毁灭他们！

13 你曾用能力将海分开，将水中大鱼的头打破。

18 耶和华啊，仇敌辱骂，愚顽民亵渎了你的名，求你记念这事。
19 不要将你斑鸠的性命交给野兽，不要永远忘记你困苦人的性命。
20 求你顾念所立的约，因为地上黑暗之处都满了强暴的居所。
21 不要叫受欺压的人蒙羞回去，要叫困苦穷乏的人赞美你的名。
22 神啊，求你起来为自己申诉，要记念愚顽人怎样终日辱骂你。
23 不要忘记你敌人的声音，那起来敌你之人的喧哗时常上升。

Arise, O God, Defend Your Cause

74 O God, why do you (B)cast us off forever?
Why does your anger (C)smoke against (D)the sheep of your pasture?
2 (E)Remember your congregation, which you have (F)purchased of old,
which you have (G)redeemed to be (H)the tribe of your heritage!
Remember Mount Zion, (I)where you have dwelt.
3 Direct your steps to (J)the perpetual ruins;
the enemy has destroyed everything in the sanctuary!
4 Your foes have (K)roared in the midst of your meeting place;
(L)they set up their (M)own signs for (N)signs.
5 They were like those who swing (O)axes
in a forest of trees.[b]
6 And all its (P)carved wood
they broke down with hatchets and hammers.
7 They (Q)set your sanctuary on fire;
they (R)profaned (S)the dwelling place of your name,
bringing it down to the ground.
8 They (T)said to themselves, “We will utterly subdue them”;
they burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
9 We do not see our (U)signs;
(V)there is no longer any prophet,
and there is none among us who knows how long.
10 How long, O God, (W)is the foe to scoff?
Is the enemy to revile your name forever?
11 Why (X)do you hold back your hand, your right hand?
Take it from the fold of your garment[c] and destroy them!
12 Yet (Y)God my King is from of old,
working salvation in the midst of the earth.
13 You (Z)divided the sea by your might;
you (AA)broke the heads of (AB)the sea monsters[d] on the waters.
14 You crushed the heads of (AC)Leviathan;
you gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.
15 You (AD)split open springs and brooks;
you (AE)dried up ever-flowing streams.
16 Yours is the day, yours also the night;
you have established (AF)the heavenly lights and the sun.
17 You have (AG)fixed all the boundaries of the earth;
you have made (AH)summer and winter.
18 (AI)Remember this, O Lord, how the enemy scoffs,
and (AJ)a foolish people reviles your name.
19 Do not deliver the soul of your (AK)dove to the wild beasts;
(AL)do not forget the life of your poor forever.
20 Have regard for (AM)the covenant,
for (AN)the dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence.
21 Let not (AO)the downtrodden (AP)turn back in shame;
let (AQ)the poor and needy praise your name.
22 Arise, O God, (AR)defend your cause;
(AS)remember how the foolish scoff at you all the day!
23 Do not forget the clamor of your foes,
(AT)the uproar of those who rise against you, which goes up continually!

74 O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
2 Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.
3 Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.
4 Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.
5 A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.
6 But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.
7 They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.
8 They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.
9 We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.
10 O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?
11 Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.
12 For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.
13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.
14 Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
15 Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.
16 The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.
17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.
18 Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O Lord, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.
19 O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.
20 Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.
21 O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.
22 Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.
23 Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.

Gud, ditt tempel ligger i ruiner
74 Gud, varför har du förkastat oss för evigt? Varför är du vred på oss som lever som får på dina egna ängar?
2 Kom ihåg att vi är ditt folk, som du i gamla tider befriade från slaveri och gjorde till din egendom! Du utvalde Jerusalem som ditt hem på jorden!
3 Vandra genom de fruktansvärda ruinerna i staden och se hur fienden har ödelagt ditt tempel!
4 Där har de vrålat ut sitt segerrop och ställt upp sina avgudar som tecken på sin seger.
5-6 Allt ligger i spillror och liknar en skog som skövlats. De kom med sina hammare och yxor och vandaliserade och slog sönder de dyrbara träpanelerna.
7 De satte eld på templet, så att det brann ner till grunden. Ditt tempel, Herre, där vi tillbad dig!
8 Låt oss utplåna varje spår av Gud, sa de, och gick genom hela landet och brände ner alla gudstjänsthus där vi hade tillbett dig.
9-10 Det finns inget kvar som visar att vi är ditt folk. Profeterna är borta. Vem kan säga när allt detta kommer att sluta? Hur länge, Gud, kommer du att tillåta våra fiender att håna dig? Ska de för all framtid få dra ditt namn i smutsen?
11 Varför griper du inte in? Varför står du med händerna i kors? Nej, höj din starka hand och visa din makt!
12 Gud, sedan urminnes tid har du varit vår kung. Du har ofta räddat landet.
13-14 Med din styrka delade du Röda havet. Du krossade sjöodjurets huvud, och dess kropp gav du som mat åt ökenstammarna!
15 På din befallning rann källorna upp för att ge vatten åt ditt folk, för att sedan låta starka strömmar torka ut.
16 Du skapade dag och natt, och månen, stjärnorna och solen tillhör dig.
17 Hela världen är i dina händer. Du skapade också sommaren och vintern.
18 Men se, Herre, hur fienderna hånskrattar åt dig. Se hur oförskämda de är då de hädar ditt namn.
19 Herre, fräls oss! Utlämna inte ditt folk åt dessa rovdjur, för du vet hur hjälplösa vi är.
20 Kom ihåg ditt löfte! Landet är fyllt av mörker, och våldet breder ut sig till varje hörn.
21 Herre, låt inte ditt nertrampade folk ständigt förolämpas! Ge de fattiga och behövande orsak att prisa ditt namn!
22 Res dig, Gud, och försvara oss inför våra fiender. Kom ihåg de förolämpningar dessa upprorsmakare har vräkt ur sig mot dig dag efter dag.
23 Ha inte överseende med dina fienders skrik och smädelser som bara blir värre och värre.
