73 ¶ Se yon sòm Asaf. Wi, Bondye bon pou pèp Izrayèl la, pou moun ki pa gen move bagay sou konsyans yo.
2 Men, pye m' glise, li manke chape, ti kras mwen tonbe,
3 paske mwen te anvye sò moun k'ap fè grandizè yo lè mwen te wè jan mechan yo alèz.
4 Yo pa gen pwoblèm, yo pa malad, yo byen gra.
5 Yo pa soufri sa lòt moun ap soufri. Yo pa gen pwoblèm lòt yo genyen.
6 Yo pran pòz pa kanmarad pesonn, y'ap plede bat moun.
7 Kè yo plen mechanste. Yo plen move plan nan tèt yo.
8 Y'ap pase lòt moun nan rizib, y'ap pale move pawòl. Yo awogan, y'ap plede mache di jan y'ap kraponnen moun.
9 Yo pale Bondye ki anwo nan syèl la mal, y'ap bay tout lòt moun lòd avèk awogans.
10 Se konsa, menm pèp Bondye a fè bann ak yo, yo vale tou sa yo di yo san di yon mo.
11 Epi yo di: -Ki jan pou Bondye fè konnen? Moun ki anwo nan syèl la, ki bò l' ta pase pou li konnen?
12 Wi, men ki jan mechan yo ye: Yo toujou alèz, y'ap anpile richès sou riches.
13 Nan kondisyon sa a, gen lè se pou gremesi mwen kenbe kò m' pou m' pa fè move bagay? Se pou gremesi mwen refize mete men m' nan move zafè?
14 Se tout lajounen, Bondye, w'ap fè m' soufri. Chak maten, ou la pou pini mwen.
15 ¶ Si m' di nan kè m': Bon, m'ap pale tankou mechan yo! Si m' fè sa, se trayi mwen ta trayi moun k'ap sèvi ou yo.
16 Se konsa mwen kalkile anpil pou m' konprann bagay sa a. Men, se pa t' bagay fasil menm pou mwen,
17 jouk lè mwen te al antre lakay ou, pou m' wè jan mechan yo gen pou yo fini.
18 Wi, ou mete yo sou yon chemen glise, ou fè yo tonbe, epi yo fini.
19 Kisa ou konprann? Anvan ou bat je ou yo fini, yo disparèt sitèlman yo pè.
20 Seyè, yo tankou yon rèv pou ou. Leve ou leve, ou bliye sa.
21 ¶ Lè sa a, mwen santi m' dekouraje; sa te fè m' mal anpil.
22 Mwen te sòt, mwen pa t' konprann anyen. Mwen te tankou yon bèt devan ou.
23 Mwen menm, mwen toujou la avèk ou, ou kenbe men m' pou m' pa tonbe.
24 Ou ban m' konsèy pou m' pa pèdi chemen m'. Lèfini, ou resevwa m' lakay ou.
25 Se ou menm sèl mwen gen nan syèl la. Mwen pa gen lòt. Se ou ki tout plezi m' sou latè.
26 Kò m' te mèt ap deperi, lespri m' te mèt ap gaga, se ou menm menm, Bondye, ki tout fòs mwen, se ou menm ki tout mwen.
27 Se vre wi, moun ki vire do ba ou pral mouri, w'ap fini nèt ak moun ki pa kenbe pawòl yo gen avè ou.
28 Mwen menm, sa bon nèt pou m' rete bò kot Bondye: Se nan Seyè a mwen jwenn pwoteksyon. M'a fè konnen tou sa li fè.

73 En verdad, ¡cuán bueno es Dios con Israel,
con los de corazón puro!
2 Yo estuve a punto de caer;
poco me faltó para que resbalara.
3 Sentí envidia de los arrogantes,
al ver la prosperidad de esos malvados.
4 Ellos no tienen ningún problema;
su cuerpo está fuerte y saludable.[a]
5 Libres están de los afanes de la gente;
no les afectan los infortunios humanos.
6 Por eso lucen su orgullo como un collar
y hacen gala de su violencia.
7 Están que revientan de malicia
y hasta se les ven sus malas intenciones.
8 Ellos se burlan, hablan con maldad,
y arrogantes oprimen y amenazan.
9 Con la boca increpan al cielo
y su lengua se pasea por la tierra.
10 Por eso la gente acude a ellos
y bebe sus palabras como agua.
11 Hasta dicen: «¿Cómo puede Dios saberlo?
¿Acaso el Altísimo tiene entendimiento?».
12 Así son los malvados;
sin afanarse, aumentan sus riquezas.
13 En verdad, ¿de qué me sirve mantener mi corazón limpio
y mis manos lavadas en la inocencia,
14 si todo el día me golpean
y de mañana me castigan?
15 Si hubiera dicho: «Voy a hablar como ellos»,
habría traicionado al linaje de tus hijos.
16 Cuando traté de comprender todo esto,
me resultó una carga insoportable,
17 hasta que entré en el santuario de Dios;
allí comprendí el fin que les espera:
18 En verdad, los has puesto en terreno resbaladizo
y los empujas a su propia destrucción.
19 ¡En un instante serán destruidos,
totalmente consumidos por el terror!
20 Como quien despierta de un sueño,
así, Señor, cuando tú te levantes,
los despreciarás como una ilusión.
21 Se me afligía el corazón
y se me amargaba el ánimo
22 por mi necedad e ignorancia.
¡Me porté contigo como una bestia!
23 Pero yo siempre estoy contigo,
pues tú me sostienes de la mano derecha.
24 Me guías con tu consejo
y más tarde me acogerás en gloria.
25 ¿A quién tengo en el cielo sino a ti?
Si estoy contigo, ya nada quiero en la tierra.
26 Podrán desfallecer mi cuerpo y mi corazón,
pero Dios es la roca de mi corazón;
él es mi herencia eterna.
27 Perecerán los que se alejen de ti;
tú destruyes a los que te son infieles.
28 Para mí el bien es estar cerca de Dios.
He hecho del Señor Soberano mi refugio
para contar todas sus obras.

Salmo de Asaf.
73 Ciertamente es bueno Dios para con Israel,
Para con los limpios de corazón.
2 En cuanto a mí, casi se deslizaron mis pies;
Por poco resbalaron mis pasos.
3 Porque tuve envidia de los arrogantes,
Viendo la prosperidad de los impíos.
4 Porque no tienen congojas por su muerte,
Pues su vigor está entero.
5 No pasan trabajos como los otros mortales,
Ni son azotados como los demás hombres.
6 Por tanto, la soberbia los corona;
Se cubren de vestido de violencia.
7 Los ojos se les saltan de gordura;
Logran con creces los antojos del corazón.
8 Se mofan y hablan con maldad de hacer violencia;
Hablan con altanería.
9 Ponen su boca contra el cielo,
Y su lengua pasea la tierra.
10 Por eso Dios hará volver a su pueblo aquí,
Y aguas en abundancia serán extraídas para ellos.
11 Y dicen: ¿Cómo sabe Dios?
¿Y hay conocimiento en el Altísimo?
12 He aquí estos impíos,
Sin ser turbados del mundo, alcanzaron riquezas.
13 Verdaderamente en vano he limpiado mi corazón,
Y lavado mis manos en inocencia;
14 Pues he sido azotado todo el día,
Y castigado todas las mañanas.
15 Si dijera yo: Hablaré como ellos,
He aquí, a la generación de tus hijos engañaría.
16 Cuando pensé para saber esto,
Fue duro trabajo para mí,
17 Hasta que entrando en el santuario de Dios,
Comprendí el fin de ellos.
18 Ciertamente los has puesto en deslizaderos;
En asolamientos los harás caer.
19 ¡Cómo han sido asolados de repente!
Perecieron, se consumieron de terrores.
20 Como sueño del que despierta,
Así, Señor, cuando despertares, menospreciarás su apariencia.
21 Se llenó de amargura mi alma,
Y en mi corazón sentía punzadas.
22 Tan torpe era yo, que no entendía;
Era como una bestia delante de ti.
23 Con todo, yo siempre estuve contigo;
Me tomaste de la mano derecha.
24 Me has guiado según tu consejo,
Y después me recibirás en gloria.
25 ¿A quién tengo yo en los cielos sino a ti?
Y fuera de ti nada deseo en la tierra.
26 Mi carne y mi corazón desfallecen;
Mas la roca de mi corazón y mi porción es Dios para siempre.
27 Porque he aquí, los que se alejan de ti perecerán;

28 Pero en cuanto a mí, el acercarme a Dios es el bien;

Should the Wicked Be Rich?
A psalm of Asaph [C a Levitical musician, a descendant of Gershon, at the time of David; 1 Chr. 6:39; 15:17; 2 Chr. 5:12].
73 ·God is truly [Surely God is] good to ·Israel [or those with integrity/virtue],
to those who have pure hearts.
2 But ·I had almost stopped believing [L as for me, my feet almost stumbled];
·I had almost lost my faith [my steps almost slipped]
3 because I was ·jealous [envious] of ·proud people [braggers; boasters].
I saw wicked people ·doing well [prospering].
4 They are not ·suffering [struggling; in pain];
·they [their bodies] are ·healthy [perfect] and strong.
5 They don’t have ·troubles [toils] like the rest of us;
they ·don’t have problems [are not plagued] like other people [Gen. 3:17–19].
6 They wear pride like a necklace
and ·put on violence as their clothing [L adorn themselves with garments of violence].
7 ·They are looking for profits [L Their eyes bulge with fat]
and ·do not control their selfish desires [cunning overflows from their hearts/minds].
8 They ·make fun of others [scoff] and speak ·evil [harm];
·proudly [from high] they speak of ·hurting [oppressing; exploiting] others.
9 They ·brag to the sky [L set their mouth against heaven].
·They say that they own [L Their tongue wanders] the earth.
10 So their people turn to them
and ·give them whatever they want [L they drink up water in abundance].
11 They say, “How can God know?
What does God Most High know?”
12 These people are wicked,
always ·at ease [carefree], and getting richer.
13 ·So why have I kept my heart pure [L In vain, I kept my heart pure…]?
·Why have I kept my hands from doing wrong [L …and washed my hands in innocence; Matt. 27:24]?
14 I ·have suffered [am plagued] all day long;
I have been ·punished [corrected] every morning.
15 God, if I had ·decided to talk like this [L said, “I will recount this,”],
I would have ·let your people down [L betrayed the generation/race of your children].
16 I ·tried [thought how] to understand all this,
but it was too ·hard [wearisome] ·for me to see [L in my eyes]
17 until I went to the ·Temple [sanctuary; Holy Place] of God.
Then I understood ·what will happen to them [L their fate/end].
18 You have put them in ·danger [L slippery places];
you cause them to ·be destroyed [L fall into disaster].
19 They are destroyed in a moment;
they are swept away by terrors.
20 It will be like waking from a dream.
Lord, when you ·rise up [awake; arouse yourself], ·they will disappear [L you despise their shadows].
21 When my heart was ·sad [bitter]
and ·I was angry [L my innards felt stabbed],
22 I was senseless and stupid.
I acted like an ·animal [brute beast] toward you.
23 But I am always with you [C in covenant relationship];
you have held my ·hand [L right hand; C guiding him].
24 You guide me with your advice,
and later you will receive me in ·honor [glory; C perhaps in the afterlife].
25 ·I have no one [L Whom do I have…?] in heaven but you;
I ·want [desire] nothing on earth besides you.
26 My body and my ·mind [heart] may become weak,
but God is ·my strength [L the rock of my heart].
He is ·mine [L my portion] forever.
27 Those who are far from ·God [L you] will ·die [perish];
you ·destroy [bring to an end] those who ·are unfaithful [prostitute themselves spiritually].
28 But I am close to God, and that is good.
The Lord God ·is [I have made] my ·protection [refuge].
I will ·tell [recount] all that you have done.
