70 För körledaren. Av David, till påminnelse.
2 Gud, befria mig!
Herre, skynda dig och kom till min hjälp!
3 Låt skam och vanära komma över dem
som är ute efter mitt liv.
Låt dem som vill min olycka
vända tillbaka i förnedring.
4 Låt dem som nu hånskrattar ”haha, haha”
vända tillbaka i skam.
5 Men låt alla som söker dig glädjas och jubla i dig,
låt dem som älskar din räddning alltid säga: ”Gud är stor!”
6 Jag är betryckt och fattig,
skynda till mig, Gud!
Du är min hjälp och befriare,
Herre, dröj inte!

1 Hasten, O God, to save me;
come quickly, Lord, to help me.(B)
2 May those who want to take my life(C)
be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire my ruin
be turned back in disgrace.(D)
3 May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!”(E)
turn back because of their shame.
4 But may all who seek you(F)
rejoice and be glad(G) in you;
may those who long for your saving help always say,
“The Lord is great!”(H)

2 Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
3 Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.
4 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.
5 But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O Lord, make no tarrying.

Make haste to help me, O Lord!

Who seek my life;

Who desire my hurt.
