Psalm 68[a]
For the director of music. Of David. A psalm. A song.
1 May God arise,(A) may his enemies be scattered;(B)
may his foes flee(C) before him.
2 May you blow them away like smoke—(D)
as wax melts(E) before the fire,
may the wicked perish(F) before God.
3 But may the righteous be glad
and rejoice(G) before God;
may they be happy and joyful.
4 Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,(H)
extol him who rides on the clouds[b](I);
rejoice before him—his name is the Lord.(J)
5 A father to the fatherless,(K) a defender of widows,(L)
is God in his holy dwelling.(M)
6 God sets the lonely(N) in families,[c](O)
he leads out the prisoners(P) with singing;
but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.(Q)
7 When you, God, went out(R) before your people,
when you marched through the wilderness,[d](S)
8 the earth shook,(T) the heavens poured down rain,(U)
before God, the One of Sinai,(V)
before God, the God of Israel.(W)
9 You gave abundant showers,(X) O God;
you refreshed your weary inheritance.
10 Your people settled in it,
and from your bounty,(Y) God, you provided(Z) for the poor.
11 The Lord announces the word,
and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng:(AA)
12 “Kings and armies flee(AB) in haste;
the women at home divide the plunder.(AC)
13 Even while you sleep among the sheep pens,[e](AD)
the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver,
its feathers with shining gold.”
14 When the Almighty[f] scattered(AE) the kings in the land,
it was like snow fallen on Mount Zalmon.(AF)
15 Mount Bashan,(AG) majestic mountain,(AH)
Mount Bashan, rugged mountain,
16 why gaze in envy, you rugged mountain,
at the mountain where God chooses(AI) to reign,
where the Lord himself will dwell forever?(AJ)
17 The chariots(AK) of God are tens of thousands
and thousands of thousands;(AL)
the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary.[g]
18 When you ascended(AM) on high,(AN)
you took many captives;(AO)
you received gifts from people,(AP)
even from[h] the rebellious(AQ)—
that you,[i] Lord God, might dwell there.
19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,(AR)
who daily bears our burdens.(AS)
20 Our God is a God who saves;(AT)
from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.(AU)
21 Surely God will crush the heads(AV) of his enemies,
the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.
22 The Lord says, “I will bring them from Bashan;
I will bring them from the depths of the sea,(AW)
23 that your feet may wade in the blood of your foes,(AX)
while the tongues of your dogs(AY) have their share.”
24 Your procession, God, has come into view,
the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary.(AZ)
25 In front are the singers,(BA) after them the musicians;(BB)
with them are the young women playing the timbrels.(BC)
26 Praise God in the great congregation;(BD)
praise the Lord in the assembly of Israel.(BE)
27 There is the little tribe(BF) of Benjamin,(BG) leading them,
there the great throng of Judah’s princes,
and there the princes of Zebulun and of Naphtali.(BH)
28 Summon your power,(BI) God[j];
show us your strength,(BJ) our God, as you have done(BK) before.
29 Because of your temple at Jerusalem
kings will bring you gifts.(BL)
30 Rebuke the beast(BM) among the reeds,(BN)
the herd of bulls(BO) among the calves of the nations.
Humbled, may the beast bring bars of silver.
Scatter the nations(BP) who delight in war.(BQ)
31 Envoys will come from Egypt;(BR)
Cush[k](BS) will submit herself to God.
32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth,(BT)
sing praise(BU) to the Lord,
33 to him who rides(BV) across the highest heavens, the ancient heavens,
who thunders(BW) with mighty voice.(BX)
34 Proclaim the power(BY) of God,
whose majesty(BZ) is over Israel,
whose power is in the heavens.
35 You, God, are awesome(CA) in your sanctuary;(CB)
the God of Israel gives power and strength(CC) to his people.(CD)

O Deus que nos salva
Ao diretor do coro. Salmo de Davi. Cântico.
68 Que Deus se levante e destrua os seus inimigos.
Que todos os que o odeiam fujam diante dele.
2 Que eles desapareçam,
como fumaça levada pelo vento;
como cera derretida pelo fogo,
assim sejam os maus destruídos na presença de Deus.
3 Mas os justos alegram-se e festejam na presença de Deus.
Que se encham de alegria!
4 Cantem a Deus, cantem cânticos de louvor ao seu nome.
Exaltem aquele que cavalga sobre as nuvens;
o seu nome é YAH[a].
Alegrem-se na sua presença!
5 Deus no seu santo templo é pai dos órfãos
e defensor das viúvas.
6 Deus dá lar aos desamparados e liberdade aos prisioneiros.
Mas os que se revoltam contra ele viverão numa terra deserta.
7 Ó Deus, o Senhor libertou o seu povo do Egito
e o guiou pelo deserto. Selah
8 A terra tremeu e a chuva caiu do céu,
diante de Deus, o Deus do Sinai e de Israel.
9 Fez cair muita chuva,
refrescou toda a terra cansada.
10 O seu povo habitou na terra,
que a sua bondade, ó Deus, preparou para o pobre.
11 O Senhor deu uma ordem
e muitas mulheres foram contar as boas notícias:
12 “Os reis e os seus exércitos fogem para longe!
Em casa, as mulheres dividem o que tiraram do inimigo.
13 Até os que ficaram entre os rebanhos,
receberam asas de pombas cobertas de prata
e penas de ouro reluzente”.
14 Quando o Deus Todo-Poderoso fez os reis fugirem,
caiu neve[b] sobre o monte Zalmom.
15 O monte de Basã é um monte altíssimo[c],
um monte com altos cumes.
16 Por que tem inveja do monte Sião?
Foi o monte onde Deus escolheu viver.
E é lá que o SENHOR viverá para sempre.
17 Com milhares e milhares de carros de guerra
o Senhor veio do monte Sinai para o seu Lugar Santo.
18 Subiu às alturas,
levou junto muitos prisioneiros.
Recebeu ofertas das pessoas,[d] até mesmo das pessoas rebeldes.
É ali que o SENHOR Deus vive.
19 Bendito seja o Senhor, nosso Deus e Salvador;
todos os dias ele leva as nossas cargas! Selah
20 Ele é o nosso Deus, o Deus que nos salva;
o Senhor DEUS nos salva da morte.
21 Deus esmaga a cabeça dos seus inimigos,
daqueles que teimam em viver no pecado.
22 O SENHOR disse: “Trarei de Basã os seus inimigos,
irei buscá-los no mais fundo mar,
23 para que você possa lavar os seus pés no seu sangue,
e os seus cães possam lamber o sangue à vontade”.
24 Já pode ser vista a marcha triunfal
do meu Deus e Rei a caminho do santuário.
25 Na frente vão os cantores, depois os músicos,
acompanhados pelas jovens que tocam os tamborins.
26 Louvem o SENHOR! Louvem o SENHOR na grande assembleia!
Louvem a Deus, filhos de Israel!
27 Na frente vai Benjamim, a tribo mais pequena;
depois, os chefes de Judá com os seus grupos,
seguidos pelos chefes de Zebulom e Naftali.
28 Mostre-nos o seu poder, ó Deus,
o poder que mostrou no passado.
29 Que os reis tragam ofertas
para o seu templo em Jerusalém.
30 Castigue o Egito, a fera entre os juncos,
e castigue as nações que se juntam a ele, como uma manada de bezerros guiados por touros.
Humilhadas, que lhe ofereçam prata,
pois o Senhor venceu as nações que gostam da guerra.
31 Que elas tragam as riquezas do Egito.
Que os etíopes tragam a Deus as suas ofertas.
32 Cantem a Deus, reinos da terra.
Cantem cânticos de louvor ao Senhor. Selah
33 Ele corre a cavalo pelos céus eternos,
e faz ouvir a sua voz poderosa.
34 Reconheçam o poder de Deus,
a sua majestade sobre Israel,
e o seu poder revelado nos céus.
35 Ó Deus, é maravilhoso no seu templo.
O Deus de Israel dá força e poder ao seu povo.

68 Let (A)God arise,
Let His enemies be scattered;
Let those also who hate Him flee before Him.
2 (B)As smoke is driven away,
So drive them away;
(C)As wax melts before the fire,
So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
3 But (D)let the righteous be glad;
Let them rejoice before God;
Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.
4 Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
(E)Extol[a] Him who rides on the [b]clouds,
(F)By His name [c]Yah,
And rejoice before Him.
5 (G)A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows,
Is God in His holy habitation.
6 (H)God sets the solitary in families;
(I)He brings out those who are bound into prosperity;
But (J)the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
7 O God, (K)when You went out before Your people,
When You marched through the wilderness, Selah
8 The earth shook;
The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God;
Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9 (L)You, O God, sent a plentiful rain,
Whereby You confirmed Your inheritance,
When it was weary.
10 Your congregation dwelt in it;
(M)You, O God, provided from Your goodness for the poor.
11 The Lord gave the word;
Great was the [d]company of those who proclaimed it:
12 “Kings(N) of armies flee, they flee,
And she who remains at home divides the [e]spoil.
13 (O)Though you lie down among the [f]sheepfolds,
(P)You will be like the wings of a dove covered with silver,
And her feathers with yellow gold.”
14 (Q)When the Almighty scattered kings in it,
It was white as snow in Zalmon.
15 A mountain of God is the mountain of Bashan;
A mountain of many peaks is the mountain of Bashan.
16 Why do you [g]fume with envy, you mountains of many peaks?
(R)This is the mountain which God desires to dwell in;
Yes, the Lord will dwell in it forever.
17 (S)The chariots of God are twenty thousand,
Even thousands of thousands;
The Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the Holy Place.
18 (T)You have ascended on high,
(U)You have led captivity captive;
(V)You have received gifts among men,
Even from (W)the rebellious,
(X)That the Lord God might dwell there.
19 Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
The God of our salvation! Selah
20 Our God is the God of salvation;
And (Y)to God the Lord belong escapes from death.
21 But (Z)God will wound the head of His enemies,
(AA)The hairy scalp of the one who still goes on in his trespasses.
22 The Lord said, “I will bring (AB)back from Bashan,
I will bring them back (AC)from the depths of the sea,
23 (AD)That [h]your foot may crush them in blood,
(AE)And the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from your enemies.”
24 They have seen Your [i]procession, O God,
The procession of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.
25 (AF)The singers went before, the players on instruments followed after;
Among them were the maidens playing timbrels.
26 Bless God in the congregations,
The Lord, from (AG)the fountain of Israel.
27 (AH)There is little Benjamin, their leader,
The princes of Judah and their [j]company,
The princes of Zebulun and the princes of Naphtali.
28 [k]Your God has (AI)commanded your strength;
Strengthen, O God, what You have done for us.
29 Because of Your temple at Jerusalem,
(AJ)Kings will bring presents to You.
30 Rebuke the beasts of the reeds,
(AK)The herd of bulls with the calves of the peoples,
Till everyone (AL)submits himself with pieces of silver.
Scatter the peoples who delight in war.
31 (AM)Envoys will come out of Egypt;
(AN)Ethiopia will quickly (AO)stretch out her hands to God.
32 Sing to God, you (AP)kingdoms of the earth;
Oh, sing praises to the Lord, Selah
33 To Him (AQ)who rides on the heaven of heavens, which were of old!
Indeed, He sends out His voice, a (AR)mighty voice.
34 (AS)Ascribe strength to God;
His excellence is over Israel,
And His strength is in the clouds.
35 O God, (AT)You are more awesome than Your holy places.
The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people.
