Assurance of God’s Eternal Protection

To the Chief Musician. On [a]a stringed instrument. A Psalm of David.

61 Hear my cry, O God;
Attend to my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

3 For You have been a shelter for me,
(A)A strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will abide in Your [b]tabernacle forever;
(B)I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah

5 For You, O God, have heard my vows;
You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.
6 You will prolong the king’s life,
His years as many generations.
7 He shall abide before God forever.
Oh, prepare mercy (C)and truth, which may [c]preserve him!

8 So I will sing praise to Your name forever,
That I may daily perform my vows.

    llévame a una roca que es más alta que yo.
3 Porque tú eres mi refugio,
    mi torre fuerte contra el enemigo.

4 Anhelo habitar en tu santuario para siempre
    y refugiarme debajo de tus alas. Selah
5 Tú, oh Dios, has aceptado mis promesas
    y me has dado la herencia de quienes honran tu nombre.

6 Concédele al rey más años de vida;
    que sus años duren por generaciones.
7 Que reine siempre en tu presencia,
    y que tu gran amor y tu verdad lo protejan.

8 Así cantaré siempre salmos a tu nombre
    y cumpliré mis promesas día tras día.

1 Hear my cry, O God;(A)
    listen to my prayer.(B)

2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
    I call as my heart grows faint;(C)
    lead me to the rock(D) that is higher than I.
3 For you have been my refuge,(E)
    a strong tower against the foe.(F)

4 I long to dwell(G) in your tent forever
    and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.[b](H)
5 For you, God, have heard my vows;(I)
    you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.(J)

6 Increase the days of the king’s life,(K)
    his years for many generations.(L)
7 May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever;(M)
    appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.(N)

8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name(O)
    and fulfill my vows day after day.(P)
