O SENHOR é misericordioso

Ao diretor do coro. Para instrumentos de oito cordas. Salmo de Davi.

SENHOR, não me castigue quando estiver irado,
não me corrija na sua fúria.
Tenha compaixão de mim, SENHOR,
porque me sinto sem forças e doente.
Venha me curar, SENHOR, porque estou fraco,
    todo o meu corpo dói.
Estou tremendo,
quando é que o SENHOR virá me ajudar?

SENHOR, venha me libertar.
Por causa do seu amor fiel, salve a minha vida da morte.
Pois os mortos não se lembram do Senhor,
ninguém lhe canta louvores no mundo dos mortos[a].

Passo a noite gemendo e chorando,
a minha cama fica cheia de lágrimas.
Os meus inimigos me deixam triste,
e os meus olhos se gastam de tanto chorar.

Afastem-se de mim, vocês que fazem o mal!
O SENHOR ouviu o meu choro.
O SENHOR escutou o meu pedido,
o SENHOR aceitou a minha oração.
10 Os meus inimigos ficarão cheios de medo e vergonha.
Todos eles fugirão e de repente serão humilhados.

Footnotes

  1. 6.5 mundo dos mortos Literalmente, “Sheol”.

O Lord, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

Have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed.

My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O Lord, how long?

Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake.

For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks?

I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.

Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies.

Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the Lord hath heard the voice of my weeping.

The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer.

10 Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.
