59 Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord.
4 They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.
5 Thou therefore, O Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.
6 They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?
8 But thou, O Lord, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
9 Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.
10 The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.
11 Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
13 Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.
14 And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
15 Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.
16 But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.
17 Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” Of David. A miktam.[b] When Saul had sent men to watch David’s house(A) in order to kill him.
1 Deliver me from my enemies, O God;(B)
be my fortress against those who are attacking me.(C)
2 Deliver me from evildoers(D)
and save me from those who are after my blood.(E)
3 See how they lie in wait for me!
Fierce men conspire(F) against me
for no offense or sin of mine, Lord.
4 I have done no wrong,(G) yet they are ready to attack me.(H)
Arise to help me; look on my plight!(I)
5 You, Lord God Almighty,
you who are the God of Israel,(J)
rouse yourself(K) to punish all the nations;(L)
show no mercy to wicked traitors.[c](M)
6 They return at evening,
snarling like dogs,(N)
and prowl about the city.
7 See what they spew from their mouths(O)—
the words from their lips are sharp as swords,(P)
and they think, “Who can hear us?”(Q)
8 But you laugh at them, Lord;(R)
you scoff at all those nations.(S)
9 You are my strength,(T) I watch for you;
you, God, are my fortress,(U)
10 my God on whom I can rely.
God will go before me
and will let me gloat over those who slander me.
11 But do not kill them, Lord our shield,[d](V)
or my people will forget.(W)
In your might uproot them
and bring them down.(X)
12 For the sins of their mouths,(Y)
for the words of their lips,(Z)
let them be caught in their pride.(AA)
For the curses and lies they utter,
13 consume them in your wrath,
consume them till they are no more.(AB)
Then it will be known to the ends of the earth
that God rules over Jacob.(AC)
14 They return at evening,
snarling like dogs,
and prowl about the city.
15 They wander about for food(AD)
and howl if not satisfied.
16 But I will sing(AE) of your strength,(AF)
in the morning(AG) I will sing of your love;(AH)
for you are my fortress,(AI)
my refuge in times of trouble.(AJ)
17 You are my strength, I sing praise to you;
you, God, are my fortress,
my God on whom I can rely.(AK)

Theo điệu “Xin Ðừng Hủy Diệt”
1 Lạy Ðức Chúa Trời của con, xin giải cứu con khỏi kẻ thù của con;
Xin bảo vệ con khỏi những kẻ nổi lên chống lại con;
2 Xin giải cứu con khỏi những kẻ gây ra tội ác;
Xin cứu thoát con khỏi tay kẻ khát máu giết người.
3 Vì kìa, chúng đang rình rập để hại mạng sống con;
Quân hung bạo đang chực tấn công con,
Cho dù con chẳng vi phạm điều gì hoặc có lầm lỗi gì, Chúa ôi,.
4 Mặc dù con không có lỗi gì, chúng vẫn cứ xáp lại chực đánh con;
Xin trỗi dậy cứu giúp con và đoái xem tình cảnh của con.
5 Chúa ôi, xin Ngài, Ðức Chúa Trời của các đạo quân và Ðức Chúa Trời của I-sơ-ra-ên, trỗi dậy để đoán phạt các dân;
Xin Ngài đừng thương xót những kẻ phản bội gian ác. (Sê-la)
6 Chiều tối chúng trở lại và tru như chó,
Rồi đi lùng soát khắp thành.
7 Kìa, miệng chúng buông ra những lời nguyền rủa;
Môi chúng nguy hiểm tựa lưỡi gươm,
Vì chúng nói rằng, “Có ai nghe không?”
8 Nhưng Chúa ôi, Ngài sẽ cười chúng;
Ngài sẽ nhạo cười tất cả các dân.
9 Sức Mạnh của con ôi, con trông đợi Ngài.
Vì Ngài, Ðức Chúa Trời ôi, là thành trì kiên cố của con.
10 Ðức Chúa Trời giàu lòng thương xót của con sẽ đi trước con;
Ðức Chúa Trời sẽ cho con hả hê nhìn những kẻ thù của con.
11 Xin đừng giết chúng, kẻo dân tộc con sẽ quên đi chăng;
Nhưng xin dùng quyền năng Ngài làm cho chúng tan tác và sụp đổ, ôi lạy Chúa, thuẫn khiên của con.
12 Do tội của miệng chúng và những lời của môi chúng nói ra,
Nguyện chúng bị mắc tội vì sự kiêu ngạo của chúng,
Và vì những lời nguyền rủa và những lời dối trá chúng đã nói.
13 Cầu xin Ngài nổi thịnh nộ và tiêu diệt chúng;
Xin tiêu diệt chúng để chúng không còn nữa,
Ðể thiên hạ ở những nơi tận cùng trái đất biết rằng Ðức Chúa Trời đang trị vì trong Gia-cốp. (Sê-la)
14 Ðến chiều tối chúng trở lại và tru như chó,
Rồi đi lùng soát khắp thành.
15 Chúng cứ đi lên đi xuống để kiếm thức ăn,
Và gầm gừ nếu không được no bụng.
16 Nhưng về phần con, con sẽ ca ngợi quyền năng Ngài;
Sáng sớm con sẽ lớn tiếng ca ngợi ơn thương xót của Ngài,
Vì Ngài là thành trì kiên cố của con,
Nơi con nương náu trong ngày hoạn nạn.
17 Sức Mạnh của con ôi, con sẽ hát ca chúc tụng Ngài,
Vì Ngài, Ðức Chúa Trời ôi, là thành trì kiên cố của con,
Và là Ðức Chúa Trời giàu lòng thương xót của con.
