哀诉仇敌之虐害
56 非利士人在迦特拿住大卫。那时，他作这金诗，交于伶长。调用远方无声鸽。
1 神啊，求你怜悯我，因为人要把我吞了，终日攻击欺压我。
2 我的仇敌终日要把我吞了，因逞骄傲攻击我的人甚多。
3 我惧怕的时候要倚靠你。
4 我倚靠神，我要赞美他的话。我倚靠神，必不惧怕，血气之辈能把我怎么样呢？
5 他们终日颠倒我的话，他们一切的心思都是要害我。
6 他们聚集、埋伏，窥探我的脚踪，等候要害我的命。
7 他们岂能因罪孽逃脱吗？神啊，求你在怒中使众民堕落！
8 我几次流离，你都记数，求你把我眼泪装在你的皮袋里。这不都记在你册子上吗？
9 我呼求的日子，我的仇敌都要转身退后。神帮助我，这是我所知道的。
颂感神之救恩
10 我倚靠神，我要赞美他的话！我倚靠耶和华，我要赞美他的话！
11 我倚靠神，必不惧怕，人能把我怎么样呢？
12 神啊，我向你所许的愿在我身上，我要将感谢祭献给你。
13 因为你救我的命脱离死亡，你岂不是救护我的脚不跌倒，使我在生命光中行在神面前吗？

56 Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus,
pois estou sendo atacado
por inimigos que estão sempre
me perseguindo!
2 O dia inteiro eles me atacam,
e são muitos os que lutam contra mim.
3 Quando estou com medo,
eu confio em ti, ó Deus Todo-Poderoso.
4 Confio em Deus e o louvo
pelo que ele tem prometido;
confio nele e não terei medo de nada.
O que podem me fazer
simples seres humanos?
5 O dia inteiro os meus inimigos
me atrapalham nos meus negócios
e só pensam em me prejudicar.
6 Eles se reúnem em lugares escondidos,
olham o que estou fazendo
e ficam esperando uma oportunidade
para me matar.
7 Ó Deus, castiga-os
por causa da sua maldade!
Mostra a tua ira
e derrota essa gente.
8 Tu sabes como estou aflito,
pois tens tomado nota
de todas as minhas lágrimas.
Será que elas não estão escritas
no teu livro?
9 Quando eu pedir a tua ajuda,
os meus inimigos fugirão.
Uma coisa eu sei: Deus está comigo.
10 Eu louvo a promessa de Deus,
a promessa de Deus, o Senhor.
11 Confio nele e não terei medo de nada.
O que podem me fazer
simples seres humanos?
12 Ó Deus, eu te darei o que prometi,
eu te darei a minha oferta de louvor
13 porque me salvaste da morte
e não deixaste que eu fosse derrotado.
Assim, ó Deus, eu ando
na tua presença,
eu ando na luz da vida.

1 Be merciful to me,(A) my God,
for my enemies are in hot pursuit;(B)
all day long they press their attack.(C)
2 My adversaries pursue me all day long;(D)
in their pride many are attacking me.(E)
3 When I am afraid,(F) I put my trust in you.(G)
4 In God, whose word I praise—(H)
in God I trust and am not afraid.(I)
What can mere mortals do to me?(J)
5 All day long they twist my words;(K)
all their schemes are for my ruin.
6 They conspire,(L) they lurk,
they watch my steps,(M)
hoping to take my life.(N)
7 Because of their wickedness do not[c] let them escape;(O)
in your anger, God, bring the nations down.(P)
8 Record my misery;
list my tears on your scroll[d](Q)—
are they not in your record?(R)
9 Then my enemies will turn back(S)
when I call for help.(T)
By this I will know that God is for me.(U)
10 In God, whose word I praise,
in the Lord, whose word I praise—
11 in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can man do to me?
