Psalm 52
1 Voor de leider van het koor. Een lied van David, om iets van te leren. 2 Hij maakte het toen de Edomiet Doëg aan Saul had verraden dat David in het huis van Achimelech was geweest.[a]
3 Jij machtig man, waarom ben je zo trots
op de slechte dingen die je doet?
En dat terwijl God elke dag goed voor jou is?
4 Je bent altijd slechte dingen van plan.
Je tong is zo scherp als een mes.
Je liegt en bedriegt.
5 Je houdt meer van het kwaad dan van het goede.
Je houdt meer van bedrog dan van de waarheid.
6 Met je tong doe je andere mensen graag kwaad.
Je vindt het heerlijk om ze te bedriegen.
7 Maar God zal jou voor eeuwig vernietigen!
Hij zal je grijpen en je je huis uit sleuren!
Hij zal je wegrukken uit het leven.
8 De mensen die leven zoals God het wil, zullen dat zien.
Ze zullen diep ontzag voor God krijgen.
Ze zullen over je lachen:
9 "Kijk, zó loopt het af met iemand die niet op God vertrouwde,
maar op zijn eigen rijkdom en macht.
Hij vertrouwde op zijn slechtheid."
10 Maar ik, ik ben sterk als een olijfboom vol bladeren
in het heiligdom van God.
Ik vertrouw op Gods goedheid, voor altijd en eeuwig.
11 Ik zal U voor altijd prijzen, omdat U altijd goed voor mij bent.
Ik zal op U vertrouwen, want U bent goed voor al uw vrienden.

上帝的審判和慈愛
以東人多益去告訴掃羅：「大衛到了亞希米勒家。」那時大衛作了這首訓誨詩，交給樂長。
52 勇士啊，你為何以作惡為榮？
上帝的慈愛永遠長存。
2 你這詭詐的人啊，
舌頭利如剃刀，
盡是害人的奸計。
3 你喜愛邪惡，不愛良善；
你喜愛虛謊，不愛真理。（細拉）
4 你有詭詐的舌頭，
好說惡言惡語。
5 上帝必永遠毀滅你，
祂必抓住你，
把你從家裡拉出來，
從活人之地剷除。（細拉）
6 義人看見必心生敬畏，
他們必嘲笑說：
7 「看啊，這就是不依靠上帝的人，
他只倚仗自己的財富和以殘暴手段獲得的權勢。」
8 我就像上帝殿中的一棵橄欖樹，枝繁葉茂，
我永永遠遠信靠上帝的慈愛。
9 上帝啊，
我要永遠讚美你的作為。
我要在你忠心的子民面前仰望你美善的名。

52 Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.
2 The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3 Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.
5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.
6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:
7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

For the director of music. A maskil[b] of David. When Doeg the Edomite(A) had gone to Saul and told him: “David has gone to the house of Ahimelek.”
1 Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero?
Why do you boast(B) all day long,(C)
you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?
2 You who practice deceit,(D)
your tongue plots destruction;(E)
it is like a sharpened razor.(F)
3 You love evil(G) rather than good,
falsehood(H) rather than speaking the truth.[c]
4 You love every harmful word,
you deceitful tongue!(I)
5 Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin:
He will snatch you up and pluck(J) you from your tent;
he will uproot(K) you from the land of the living.(L)
6 The righteous will see and fear;
they will laugh(M) at you, saying,
7 “Here now is the man
who did not make God his stronghold(N)
but trusted in his great wealth(O)
and grew strong by destroying others!”
