A Prayer for Protection
43 God, defend me.
·Argue my case [L Vindicate me, O God, and contend for/defend me] against ·those who don’t follow you [L a godless nation].
·Save [Rescue; T Deliver] me from ·liars [deceivers] and those who ·do evil [are unjust].
2 God, you are my ·strength [L refuge].
Why have you rejected me?
Why am I ·sad [L going around in mourning]
and ·troubled [oppressed] by my enemies?
3 Send me your light and ·truth [faithfulness]
to ·guide [lead] me.
Let them ·lead [bring] me to your holy mountain [C Zion, the location of the Temple],
to ·where you live [your dwelling].
4 Then I will go to the altar of God,
to God who is my joy and happiness.
I will praise you with a ·harp [lyre],
God, my God.
5 Why ·am I so sad [L are you downcast, my soul]?
Why ·am I so upset [are you groaning/in an uproar]?
I ·should [or will] ·put my hope in [wait for] God
and ·keep praising [or will again praise] him,
my ·Savior [Victor] and my God.

43 神 啊 ， 求 你 伸 我 的 冤 ， 向 不 虔 诚 的 国 为 我 辨 屈 ； 求 你 救 我 脱 离 诡 诈 不 义 的 人 。
2 因 为 你 是 赐 我 力 量 的 神 ， 为 何 丢 弃 我 呢 ？ 我 为 何 因 仇 敌 的 欺 压 时 常 哀 痛 呢 ？
3 求 你 发 出 你 的 亮 光 和 真 实 ， 好 引 导 我 ， 带 我 到 你 的 圣 山 ， 到 你 的 居 所 ！
4 我 就 走 到 神 的 祭 坛 ， 到 我 最 喜 乐 的 神 那 里 。 神 啊 ， 我 的 神 ， 我 要 弹 琴 称 赞 你 ！
5 我 的 心 哪 ， 你 为 何 忧 闷 ？ 为 何 在 我 里 面 烦 躁 ？ 应 当 仰 望 神 ， 因 我 还 要 称 赞 他 。 他 是 我 脸 上 的 光 荣 （ 原 文 是 帮 助 ） ， 是 我 的 神 。

1 Vindicate me, my God,
and plead my cause(A)
against an unfaithful nation.
Rescue me(B) from those who are
deceitful and wicked.(C)
2 You are God my stronghold.
Why have you rejected(D) me?
Why must I go about mourning,(E)
oppressed by the enemy?(F)
3 Send me your light(G) and your faithful care,(H)
let them lead me;(I)
let them bring me to your holy mountain,(J)
to the place where you dwell.(K)
4 Then I will go(L) to the altar(M) of God,
to God, my joy(N) and my delight.(O)
I will praise you with the lyre,(P)
O God, my God.
5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
