在異地渴慕朝見 神
可拉子孫的訓誨詩，交給詩班長。
42 神啊！我的心渴慕你，
好像鹿渴慕溪水。
2 我的心渴想 神，就是永活的 神；
我甚麼時候可以來朝見 神的面呢？
3 人整天對我說：“你的 神在哪裡呢？”
我就晝夜以眼淚當飯吃。
4 我從前常常和群眾同去，
與他們進到 神的殿裡，
在歡呼和稱謝聲中，大家守節。
每逢想起這些事，我的心就感到難過。
5 我的心哪！你為甚麼沮喪呢？
為甚麼在我裡面不安呢？
應當等候 神；
因為我還要稱讚他，
他是我面前的救助、我的 神。
6 我的心在我裡面沮喪；
因此我從約旦地，從黑門嶺，
從米薩山，記念你。
7 你的瀑布一發聲，深淵就和深淵響應；
你的洪濤和波浪都掩蓋了我。
8 白天耶和華賜下他的慈愛；
夜間我要向他歌頌，
向賜我生命的 神禱告。
9 我要對 神我的磐石說：
“你為甚麼忘記我呢？
我為甚麼因仇敵的壓迫徘徊悲哀呢？”
10 我的敵人整天對我說：
“你的 神在哪裡呢？”
他們這樣辱罵我的時候，
就像在擊碎我的骨頭。
11 我的心哪！你為甚麼沮喪呢？
為甚麼在我裡面不安呢？
應當等候 神；
因為我還要稱讚他，
他是我面前的救助、我的 神。

42 上帝啊，我的心切慕你，
像鹿切慕溪水。
2 我心裡渴慕上帝，
渴慕永活的上帝，
我何時才能去朝拜祂呢？
3 我不吃不喝，晝夜以淚洗面，
人們整天譏笑我：
「你的上帝在哪裡？」
4 從前我帶領眾人浩浩蕩蕩去上帝的殿，
在歡呼、感恩聲中一起過節。
我回想這些事，
心中無限憂傷。
5 我的心啊！
你為何沮喪？為何煩躁？
要仰望上帝，
因為我還要讚美祂——我的救主，我的上帝。
6 我的上帝啊，我心中沮喪，
便在約旦河、黑門山和米薩山想起你。
7 你的瀑布發出巨響，
迴盪在深淵之間，
你的洪濤巨浪淹沒我。
8 白天耶和華將祂的慈愛澆灌我；
夜間我歌頌祂，
向賜我生命的上帝禱告。
9 我對上帝——我的磐石說：
「你為何忘記我？
為何要我受仇敵的攻擊，使我哀傷不已呢？」
10 仇敵的辱罵刺骨鑽心。
他們整天對我說：
「你的上帝在哪裡？」
11 我的心啊！
你為何沮喪？為何煩躁？
要仰望上帝，
因為我還要讚美祂——我的救主，我的上帝。

2 Wie ein Hirsch lechzt[a] nach Wasserbächen,
so lechzt meine Seele, o Gott, nach dir!
3 Meine Seele dürstet nach Gott,
nach dem lebendigen Gott:
Wann werde ich kommen
und vor Gottes Angesicht erscheinen?
4 Meine Tränen sind meine Speise
bei Tag und bei Nacht,
weil man täglich zu mir sagt:
Wo ist [nun] dein Gott?
5 Daran will ich denken, und meine Seele in mir ausschütten,
wie ich dahinzog im Gedränge,
mit ihnen feierlich dahinschritt zum Haus Gottes
unter lautem Jubel und Lobgesang,
in der feiernden Menge.
6 Was betrübst du dich, meine Seele,
und bist so unruhig in mir?
Harre auf Gott, denn ich werde ihm noch danken
für die Rettung, die von seinem Angesicht kommt![b]
7 Mein Gott, meine Seele ist betrübt in mir;
darum gedenke ich an dich
im Land des Jordan und der Hermongipfel,
am Berg Mizar.
8 Eine Flut ruft der anderen beim Rauschen deiner Wasserstürze;
alle deine Wellen und Wogen sind über mich gegangen.
9 Am Tag wird der Herr seine Gnade entbieten,
und in der Nacht wird sein Lied bei mir sein,
ein Gebet zu dem Gott meines Lebens.
10 Ich will sprechen zu Gott, meinem Fels:
Warum hast du mich vergessen?
Warum muss ich trauernd einhergehen,
weil mein Feind mich bedrängt?
11 Wie Zermalmung meiner Gebeine
ist der Hohn meiner Bedränger,
weil sie täglich zu mir sagen:
Wo ist [nun] dein Gott?
12 Was betrübst du dich, meine Seele,
und bist so unruhig in mir?
Harre auf Gott, denn ich werde ihm noch danken,

1 As the deer(A) pants for streams of water,(B)
so my soul pants(C) for you, my God.
2 My soul thirsts(D) for God, for the living God.(E)
When can I go(F) and meet with God?
3 My tears(G) have been my food
day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
“Where is your God?”(H)
4 These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:(I)
how I used to go to the house of God(J)
under the protection of the Mighty One[d]
with shouts of joy(K) and praise(L)
among the festive throng.(M)
5 Why, my soul, are you downcast?(N)
Why so disturbed(O) within me?
Put your hope in God,(P)
for I will yet praise(Q) him,
my Savior(R) and my God.(S)
6 My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember(T) you
from the land of the Jordan,(U)
the heights of Hermon(V)—from Mount Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep(W)
in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
have swept over me.(X)
8 By day the Lord directs his love,(Y)
at night(Z) his song(AA) is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.(AB)
9 I say to God my Rock,(AC)
“Why have you forgotten(AD) me?
Why must I go about mourning,(AE)

as my foes taunt(AI) me,
saying to me all day long,
