赞美上帝之歌

大卫的诗，交给乐长。

40 我曾耐心等候耶和华，
祂倾听了我的呼求。
²祂把我从绝望的深渊拉出来，
救我脱离泥泞沼泽，
把我安置在磐石上，
使我步履稳健。
³祂赐给我一首新歌，
一首赞美我们上帝的诗歌。
许多人看见便敬畏、信靠耶和华。
⁴信靠耶和华的人有福了！
他们不随从骄傲自大、信靠假神的人。
⁵我的上帝耶和华啊，
你行了许多奇事，
为我们定了许多美好的计划，
谁能与你相比！
你奇妙的作为不可胜数。
⁶祭物和供品非你所悦，
你开通了我的耳朵，
燔祭和赎罪祭非你所要。
⁷于是我说：
“看啊，我来了，
正如经卷上有关我的记载。
⁸我的上帝啊，
我乐意遵行你的旨意，
我铭记你的律法。”
⁹耶和华啊，你知道我在大会中宣扬你的公义，
没有闭口不言。
¹⁰我述说你的信实和拯救之恩，
没有把你的公义隐而不宣，
没有在大会中避而不谈你的慈爱和真理。
¹¹耶和华啊，
求你不要收回你的怜悯，
愿你的慈爱和真理时刻守护我！
¹²我患难重重，罪恶缠身，
看不到出路。
我的罪过比我的头发还多，
我心惊胆战。
¹³耶和华啊，求你拯救我！
耶和华啊，求你快来帮助我！
¹⁴愿谋取我性命的人蒙羞受辱！
愿喜欢我被害的人狼狈逃窜！
¹⁵愿那些哈哈嘲笑我的人羞愧难当！
¹⁶愿所有寻求你的人因你而欢喜快乐！
愿渴望蒙你拯救的人时常说：
“耶和华当受尊崇！”
¹⁷我贫穷困苦，
但主眷顾我。

求你不要迟延！

40 ⁽⁰⁾For the leader. A psalm of David:

²⁽¹⁾I waited patiently for Adonai,
till he turned toward me and heard my cry.
³⁽²⁾He brought me up from the roaring pit,
up from the muddy ooze,
and set my feet on a rock,
making my footing firm.
⁴⁽³⁾He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will look on in awe
and put their trust in Adonai.

⁵⁽⁴⁾How blessed the man who trusts in Adonai
and does not look to the arrogant
or to those who rely on things that are false.

⁶⁽⁵⁾How much you have done, Adonai my God!
Your wonders and your thoughts toward us —
none can compare with you!
I would proclaim them, I would speak about them;
but there’s too much to tell!

⁷⁽⁶⁾Sacrifices and grain offerings you don’t want;
burnt offerings and sin offerings you don’t demand.
Instead, you have given me open ears;
⁸⁽⁷⁾so then I said, “Here I am! I’m coming!
In the scroll of a book it is written about me.
⁹⁽⁸⁾Doing your will, my God, is my joy;
your Torah is in my inmost being.
¹⁰⁽⁹⁾I have proclaimed what is right in the great assembly;
I did not restrain my lips, Adonai, as you know.
¹¹⁽¹⁰⁾I did not hide your righteousness in my heart
but declared your faithfulness and salvation;
I did not conceal your grace and truth
from the great assembly.”

¹²⁽¹¹⁾Adonai, don’t withhold your mercy from me.
Let your grace and truth preserve me always.
¹³⁽¹²⁾For numberless evils surround me;
my iniquities engulf me — I can’t even see;
there are more of them than hairs on my head,
so that my courage fails me.
¹⁴⁽¹³⁾Be pleased, Adonai, to rescue me!
Adonai, hurry and help me!
¹⁵⁽¹⁴⁾May those who seek to sweep me away
be disgraced and humiliated together.
May those who take pleasure in doing me harm
be turned back and put to confusion.
¹⁶⁽¹⁵⁾May those who jeer at me, “Aha! Aha!”
be aghast because of their shame.

¹⁷⁽¹⁶⁾But may all those who seek you
be glad and take joy in you.
May those who love your salvation say always,
“Adonai is great and glorious!”

¹⁸⁽¹⁷⁾But I am poor and needy;
may Adonai think of me.
You are my helper and rescuer;
my God, don’t delay!

Faith Persevering in Trial^(A)

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.

40 I ^(B)waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
²He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of ^(C)the miry clay,
And ^(D)set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
³^(E)He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.

⁴^(F)Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust,
And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
⁵^(G)Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works
Which You have done;
^(H)And Your thoughts toward us
Cannot be recounted to You in order;
If I would declare and speak of them,
They are more than can be numbered.

⁶^(I)Sacrifice and offering You did not desire;
My ears You have opened.
Burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.
⁷Then I said, “Behold, I come;
In the scroll of the book it is written of me.
⁸^(J)I delight to do Your will, O my God,
And Your law is ^(K)within my heart.”

⁹^(L)I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness
In the great assembly;
Indeed, ^(M)I do not restrain my lips,
O Lord, You Yourself know.
¹⁰^(N)I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation;
I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth
From the great assembly.

¹¹Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O Lord;
^(O)Let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.
¹²For innumerable evils have surrounded me;
^(P)My iniquities have overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up;
They are more than the hairs of my head;
Therefore my heart fails me.

¹³^(Q)Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me;
O Lord, make haste to help me!
¹⁴^(R)Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion
Who seek to destroy my ^[a]life;
Let them be driven backward and brought to dishonor
Who wish me evil.
¹⁵Let them be ^(S)confounded because of their shame,
Who say to me, “Aha, aha!”

¹⁶^(T)Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
Let such as love Your salvation ^(U)say continually,
“The Lord be magnified!”
¹⁷^(V)But I am poor and needy;
^(W)Yet the Lord thinks upon me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
Do not delay, O my God.
