人生虚幻，主是唯一指望
大卫的诗，交给诗班长耶杜顿。
39 我曾说：“我要谨慎我的行为，
不让我的舌头犯罪；
恶人在我面前的时候，
我总要用罩子约束我的嘴。”
2 我静默不出声，
甚至连好话也不说（“甚至连好话也不说”或译：“我安静也得不到安慰”），
我的痛苦就更加剧烈。
3 我的心在我里面发热；
我默想的时候，心里火烧；
我就用舌头说话：
4 “耶和华啊！求你使我知道我的结局，
我的寿数有多少，
使我知道我的生命多么短促。
5 你使我的日子窄如手掌，
我的一生在你面前如同无有；
各人站得最稳的时候，也只不过是一口气。（细拉）
6 世人来来往往只是幻影，
他们忙乱也是虚空；
积聚财物，却不知道谁要来收取。
7 主啊！现在我还等候甚么呢？
我的指望在乎你。
8 求你救我脱离我的一切过犯，
不要使我遭受愚顽人的羞辱。
9 因为是你作了这事，
我就静默不开口。
10 求你除掉你降在我身上的灾祸；
因你手的责打，我就消灭。
11 你因人的罪孽，借着责罚管教他们，
叫他们所宝贵的消失，像被虫蛀蚀；
世人都不过是一口气。（细拉）
12 耶和华啊！求你垂听我的祷告，
留心听我的呼求；
我流泪，求你不要缄默；
因为我在你面前是客旅，
是寄居的，像我所有的祖先一样。
13 求你不要怒视我，
使我在去而不返之先，可以喜乐。”

39 I said, “I will guard my ways,
that I may not sin with my tongue;
I will bridle[a] my mouth,
so long as the wicked are in my presence.”
2 I was dumb and silent,
I held my peace to no avail;
my distress grew worse,
3 my heart became hot within me.
As I mused, the fire burned;
then I spoke with my tongue:
4 “Lord, let me know my end,
and what is the measure of my days;
let me know how fleeting my life is!
5 Behold, thou hast made my days a few handbreadths,
and my lifetime is as nothing in thy sight.
Surely every man stands as a mere breath!Selah
6 Surely man goes about as a shadow!
Surely for nought are they in turmoil;
man heaps up, and knows not who will gather!
7 “And now, Lord, for what do I wait?
My hope is in thee.
8 Deliver me from all my transgressions.
Make me not the scorn of the fool!
9 I am dumb, I do not open my mouth;
for it is thou who hast done it.
10 Remove thy stroke from me;
I am spent by the blows[b] of thy hand.
11 When thou dost chasten man
with rebukes for sin,
thou dost consume like a moth what is dear to him;
surely every man is a mere breath!Selah
12 “Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and give ear to my cry;
hold not thy peace at my tears!
For I am thy passing guest,
a sojourner, like all my fathers.
13 Look away from me, that I may know gladness,
before I depart and be no more!”

para no pecar con mi lengua(B);
guardaré mi boca como con mordaza(C),
mientras el impío esté en mi presencia.
2 Enmudecí y callé[b](D);
guardé silencio aun acerca de lo bueno,
y se agravó mi dolor[c].
3 Ardía mi corazón dentro de mí(E);
mientras meditaba, se encendió[d] el fuego;
entonces dije con mi lengua:
4 Señor, hazme saber mi fin(F),
y cuál es la medida de mis días,
para que yo sepa cuán efímero[e] soy(G).
5 He aquí, tú has hecho mis días muy breves[f](H),
y mi existencia es como nada delante de ti(I);
ciertamente todo hombre, aun en la plenitud de su vigor[g], es solo un soplo[h](J). (Selah[i])
