受苦者的呼求
大卫的诗，交给乐长耶杜顿。
39 我说：“我要谨言慎行，
免犯口舌之罪。
只要身边有恶人，
我就用嚼环勒住自己的口。”
2 然而，我默不作声，
连好话也不出口时，
内心就更加痛苦。
3 我心如火烧，越沉思越烦躁，
便开口呼求：
4 “耶和华啊，求你让我知道我人生的终点和寿数，
明白人生何其短暂。
5 你使我的生命转瞬即逝，
我的岁月在你眼中不到片刻。
人的生命不过是一丝气息，（细拉）
6 人生不过是幻影，
劳碌奔波却一场空，
积蓄财富却不知谁来享用。
7 主啊，如今我盼望什么呢？
你是我的盼望。
8 求你救我脱离一切过犯，
不要让愚昧人嘲笑我。
9 我默然不语，一言不发，
因为我受的责罚是出于你。
10 求你不要再惩罚我，
你的责打使我几乎丧命。
11 因为人犯罪，你管教他们，
使他们所爱的被吞噬，像被虫蛀。
世人不过是一丝气息。（细拉）
12 “耶和华啊，
求你垂听我的祷告，
倾听我的呼求，
别对我的眼泪视若无睹。
因为我在你面前只是客旅，
是寄居的，
正如我的祖先。
13 求你宽恕我，
好让我在离世之前能重展笑容。”

39 (39:1) Au chef des chantres. A Jeduthun, Psaume de David. (39:2) Je disais: Je veillerai sur mes voies, De peur de pécher par ma langue; Je mettrai un frein à ma bouche, Tant que le méchant sera devant moi.
2 (39:3) Je suis resté muet, dans le silence; Je me suis tu, quoique malheureux; Et ma douleur n'était pas moins vive.
3 (39:4) Mon coeur brûlait au dedans de moi, Un feu intérieur me consumait, Et la parole est venue sur ma langue.
4 (39:5) Éternel! dis-moi quel est le terme de ma vie, Quelle est la mesure de mes jours; Que je sache combien je suis fragile.
5 (39:6) Voici, tu as donné à mes jours la largeur de la main, Et ma vie est comme un rien devant toi. Oui, tout homme debout n'est qu'un souffle. -Pause.
6 (39:7) Oui, l'homme se promène comme une ombre, Il s'agite vainement; Il amasse, et il ne sait qui recueillera.
7 (39:8) Maintenant, Seigneur, que puis-je espérer? En toi est mon espérance.
8 (39:9) Délivre-moi de toutes mes transgressions! Ne me rends pas l'opprobre de l'insensé!
9 (39:10) Je reste muet, je n'ouvre pas la bouche, Car c'est toi qui agis.
10 (39:11) Détourne de moi tes coups! Je succombe sous les attaques de ta main.
11 (39:12) Tu châties l'homme en le punissant de son iniquité, Tu détruis comme la teigne ce qu'il a de plus cher. Oui, tout homme est un souffle. -Pause.
12 (39:13) Écoute ma prière, Éternel, et prête l'oreille à mes cris! Ne sois pas insensible à mes larmes! Car je suis un étranger chez toi, Un habitant, comme tous mes pères.
13 (39:14) Détourne de moi le regard, et laisse-moi respirer, Avant que je m'en aille et que ne sois plus!

For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David.
1 I said, “I will watch my ways(A)
and keep my tongue from sin;(B)
I will put a muzzle on my mouth(C)
while in the presence of the wicked.”
2 So I remained utterly silent,(D)
not even saying anything good.
But my anguish(E) increased;
3 my heart grew hot(F) within me.
While I meditated,(G) the fire(H) burned;
then I spoke with my tongue:
4 “Show me, Lord, my life’s end
and the number of my days;(I)
let me know how fleeting(J) my life is.(K)
5 You have made my days(L) a mere handbreadth;
the span of my years is as nothing before you.
Everyone is but a breath,(M)
even those who seem secure.[b]
6 “Surely everyone goes around(N) like a mere phantom;(O)
in vain they rush about,(P) heaping up wealth(Q)
without knowing whose it will finally be.(R)
7 “But now, Lord, what do I look for?
My hope is in you.(S)
8 Save me(T) from all my transgressions;(U)
do not make me the scorn(V) of fools.
9 I was silent;(W) I would not open my mouth,(X)
for you are the one who has done this.(Y)
10 Remove your scourge from me;
I am overcome by the blow(Z) of your hand.(AA)
11 When you rebuke(AB) and discipline(AC) anyone for their sin,
you consume(AD) their wealth like a moth(AE)—
surely everyone is but a breath.(AF)
