人生虛幻，主是唯一指望
大衛的詩，交給詩班長耶杜頓。
39 我曾說：“我要謹慎我的行為，
不讓我的舌頭犯罪；
惡人在我面前的時候，
我總要用罩子約束我的嘴。”
2 我靜默不出聲，
甚至連好話也不說（“甚至連好話也不說”或譯：“我安靜也得不到安慰”），
我的痛苦就更加劇烈。
3 我的心在我裡面發熱；
我默想的時候，心裡火燒；
我就用舌頭說話：
4 “耶和華啊！求你使我知道我的結局，
我的壽數有多少，
使我知道我的生命多麼短促。
5 你使我的日子窄如手掌，
我的一生在你面前如同無有；
各人站得最穩的時候，也只不過是一口氣。（細拉）
6 世人來來往往只是幻影，
他們忙亂也是虛空；
積聚財物，卻不知道誰要來收取。
7 主啊！現在我還等候甚麼呢？
我的指望在乎你。
8 求你救我脫離我的一切過犯，
不要使我遭受愚頑人的羞辱。
9 因為是你作了這事，
我就靜默不開口。
10 求你除掉你降在我身上的災禍；
因你手的責打，我就消滅。
11 你因人的罪孽，藉著責罰管教他們，
叫他們所寶貴的消失，像被蟲蛀蝕；
世人都不過是一口氣。（細拉）
12 耶和華啊！求你垂聽我的禱告，
留心聽我的呼求；
我流淚，求你不要緘默；

39 我說：「我要謹言慎行，
免犯口舌之罪。
只要身邊有惡人，
我就用嚼環勒住自己的口。」
2 然而，我默不作聲，
連好話也不出口時，
內心就更加痛苦。
3 我心如火燒，越沉思越煩躁，
便開口呼求：
4 「耶和華啊，求你讓我知道我人生的終點和壽數，
明白人生何其短暫。
5 你使我的生命轉瞬即逝，
我的歲月在你眼中不到片刻。
人的生命不過是一絲氣息，（細拉）
6 人生不過是幻影，
勞碌奔波卻一場空，
積蓄財富卻不知誰來享用。
7 主啊，如今我盼望什麼呢？
你是我的盼望。
8 求你救我脫離一切過犯，
不要讓愚昧人嘲笑我。
9 我默然不語，一言不發，
因為我受的責罰是出於你。
10 求你不要再懲罰我，
你的責打使我幾乎喪命。
11 因為人犯罪，你管教他們，
使他們所愛的被吞噬，像被蟲蛀。

求你垂聽我的禱告，
傾聽我的呼求，
別對我的眼淚視若無睹。
因為我在你面前只是客旅，

2 Ich habe gesagt: Ich will auf meine Wege achten,
dass ich nicht sündige mit meiner Zunge;
ich will meinen Mund im Zaum halten,
solange der Gottlose vor mir ist.
3 Ich war gänzlich verstummt, schwieg auch vom Guten,
aber mein Schmerz fraß in mir.
4 Mein Herz entbrannte in mir,
durch mein Nachsinnen wurde ein Feuer entzündet,
da redete ich mit meiner Zunge:
5 Lass mich mein Ende wissen, o Herr,
und was das Maß meiner Tage ist,
damit ich erkenne, wie vergänglich ich bin!
6 Siehe, nur Handbreiten lang hast du meine Tage gemacht,
und die Dauer meines Lebens ist wie nichts vor dir.
Wahrlich, jeder Mensch, wie fest er auch steht, ist nur ein Hauch! (Sela.)
7 Ja, als Schattenbild geht der Mensch einher;
nur um Nichtigkeit machen sie so viel Lärm!
Er häuft auf und weiß nicht, wer es einsammeln wird.
8 Und nun, Herr, worauf soll ich hoffen?
Meine Hoffnung gilt dir allein!
9 Errette mich von allen meinen Übertretungen,
mache mich nicht dem Narren zum Gespött!
10 Ich schweige und tue meinen Mund nicht auf;
denn du hast es getan.[a]
11 Nimm deine Plage von mir,
denn ich vergehe wegen der Schläge deiner Hand!
12 Wenn du jemand züchtigst mit Strafen um der Sünde willen,
so lässt du seine Schönheit vergehen wie die Motte —
jeder Mensch ist nur ein Hauch! (Sela.)
13 Herr, höre mein Gebet und vernimm mein Schreien!
Schweige nicht zu meinen Tränen;
denn ich bin ein Fremdling bei dir,[b]
ein Gast wie alle meine Väter.
14 Blicke weg von mir, damit ich wieder froh werde,
bevor ich dahinfahre und nicht mehr bin!

1 I said, “I will watch my ways(A)
and keep my tongue from sin;(B)
I will put a muzzle on my mouth(C)
while in the presence of the wicked.”
2 So I remained utterly silent,(D)
not even saying anything good.
But my anguish(E) increased;
3 my heart grew hot(F) within me.
While I meditated,(G) the fire(H) burned;
then I spoke with my tongue:
4 “Show me, Lord, my life’s end
and the number of my days;(I)
let me know how fleeting(J) my life is.(K)
5 You have made my days(L) a mere handbreadth;
the span of my years is as nothing before you.
Everyone is but a breath,(M)
even those who seem secure.[b]
6 “Surely everyone goes around(N) like a mere phantom;(O)
in vain they rush about,(P) heaping up wealth(Q)
without knowing whose it will finally be.(R)
7 “But now, Lord, what do I look for?
My hope is in you.(S)
8 Save me(T) from all my transgressions;(U)
do not make me the scorn(V) of fools.
9 I was silent;(W) I would not open my mouth,(X)
for you are the one who has done this.(Y)
10 Remove your scourge from me;
I am overcome by the blow(Z) of your hand.(AA)
11 When you rebuke(AB) and discipline(AC) anyone for their sin,
you consume(AD) their wealth like a moth(AE)—
surely everyone is but a breath.(AF)
