受苦者的祈求
大卫求上帝眷顾的诗。
38 耶和华啊，
求你不要在发怒时惩罚我，
不要在烈怒下管教我。
2 因为你的箭射穿我，
你的手击打我。
3 你的怒气使我浑身是病，
我的罪恶使我骨头朽烂。
4 我的罪恶滔天，使我不堪其重。
5 我因愚昧而伤口溃烂流脓。
6 我疼得弯腰驼背，
终日哀伤。
7 我的腰灼痛难忍，
我浑身是病。
8 我精疲力尽，彻底崩溃；
我心中悲伤，呻吟不止。
9 主啊，你知道我的渴望，

King James Version
38 O Lord, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.
2 For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.
3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin.
4 For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
5 My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness.
6 I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long.
7 For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh.
8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
9 Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
10 My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
12 They also that seek after my life lay snares for me: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.
13 But I, as a deaf man, heard not; and I was as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
14 Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
15 For in thee, O Lord, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.
16 For I said, Hear me, lest otherwise they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.
17 For I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.
18 For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.
19 But mine enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
20 They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow the thing that good is.
21 Forsake me not, O Lord: O my God, be not far from me.
22 Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.

Psalmul 38
Un psalm al lui David spre aducere-aminte
1 Doamne, nu mă mai mustra în mânia Ta
şi nu mă mai disciplina în furia Ta!
2 Căci săgeţile Tale m-au străpuns,
mâna Ta s-a abătut asupra mea.
3 Din pricina mâniei Tale, nu mai este nimic sănătos în trupul meu,
nici un os nu mai este întreg din pricina păcatului meu.
4 Căci fărădelegile mele mă copleşesc, ca o povară grea;
sunt prea grele pentru mine.
5 Rănile mele duhnesc, putrezesc,
şi aceasta numai din pricina nebuniei mele.
6 Sunt încovoiat, peste măsură de gârbovit.
Toată ziua umblu bocind.
7 Coapsele-mi sunt pline de arsuri,
nu mai este nimic sănătos în trupul meu!
8 Sunt atât de slăbit şi de zdrobit!
Mă tânguiesc din pricina suspinelor inimii mele.
9 Stăpâne, ştii toate dorinţele mele,
iar suspinele mele nu-ţi sunt ascunse!
10 Mi se zbate inima, puterile mă părăsesc,
nici chiar lumina ochilor mei nu o mai am!
11 Cei care mă iubesc, prietenii mei, nu stau aproape de rana mea,
cei apropiaţi mie stau deoparte.
12 Cei ce caută să-mi ia viaţa îşi întind cursele;
cei ce-mi doresc răul pun la cale sfârşitul meu
şi în fiecare zi urzesc numai înşelătorii.
13 Eu însă nu aud, întocmai ca un surd;
ca un mut, nu-mi deschid gura!
14 Am ajuns ca omul care nu aude
şi a cărui gură nu mai are răspuns.
15 Totuşi nădăjduiesc în Tine, Doamne!
Tu vei răspunde, Stăpâne, Dumnezeul meu!
16 Căci am zis: „Să nu se bucure din pricina mea,
atunci când îmi alunecă piciorul, să nu se laude pe seama mea!“
17 Chiar acum sunt gata să mă împiedic,
iar durerea mă însoţeşte mereu.
18 Îmi mărturisesc vina;
păcatul meu mă frământă.
19 Duşmanii mei sunt mulţi şi plini de viaţă[a]
şi cei ce mă urăsc fără motiv sunt fără număr.
20 Cei ce răsplătesc cu rău pentru bine
mi se opun, când eu urmăresc binele.
21 Nu mă părăsi, Doamne!
Dumnezeul meu, nu Te îndepărta de mine!
22 Vino degrabă în ajutorul meu,
Stăpâne, Mântuirea mea!
