祈求　神施恩及感恩称颂

大卫的诗。

28 耶和华啊！我向你呼求；

我的盘石啊！不要不听我；

如果你缄默不理我，

我就跟那些下坑的人一样。（本节在《马索拉文本》包括细字标题）

²我向你呼求，

向你的至圣所举手祷告的时候，

求你垂听我恳求的声音。

³求你不要把我和坏人，

跟作恶的人一同除掉；

他们与邻居说平安的话，

心里却存着奸恶。

⁴愿你按着他们所作的，照着他们所行的恶报应他们；

愿你照着他们手所作的报应他们，

把他们应得的报应加给他们。

⁵他们既然不关心耶和华的作为，和他手所作的，

耶和华就必拆毁他们，不建立他们。

⁶耶和华是应当称颂的，

因为他听了我恳求的声音。

⁷耶和华是我的力量，是我的盾牌；

我的心倚靠他，我就得到帮助；

所以我的心欢乐。

我要用诗歌颂赞他。

⁸耶和华是他子民的力量，

又是他受膏者得救的保障。

⁹求你拯救你的子民，

赐福给你的产业，

牧养他们，怀抱他们，直到永远。

28 ^(A)Nkukoowoola ggwe, Ayi Mukama, Olwazi lwange,
    tolema kumpuliriza;
kubanga bw’onoonsiriikirira
    nzija kuba nga bali abakkirira mu kinnya.
²^(B)Owulire eddoboozi ery’okwegayirira kwange,
    nga mpanise emikono gyange
okwolekera ekifo kyo ekisinga byonna obutukuvu,
    nga nkukaabirira okunnyamba.

³^(C)Tontwalira mu boonoonyi,
    abakola ebibi;
abanyumya obulungi ne bannaabwe,
    so ng’emitima gyabwe gijjudde bukyayi bwerere.
⁴^(D)Basasule ng’ebikolwa byabwe bwe biri,
    n’olw’ebyambyone bye bakoze.
Basasule olwa byonna emikono gyabwe gye bisobezza,
    obabonereze nga bwe basaanidde.

⁵^(E)Olwokubanga tebafaayo ku mirimu gya Mukama,
oba ku ebyo bye yakola n’emikono gye,
alibazikiririza ddala,
era talibaddiramu.

⁶Atenderezebwe Mukama,
    kubanga awulidde eddoboozi ly’okwegayirira kwange.
⁷^(F)Mukama ge maanyi gange,
    era ye ngabo yange, ye gwe neesiga.
Bwe ntyo ne nyambibwa.
    Omutima gwange gunaajaguzanga, ne mmuyimbira ennyimba ez’okumwebazanga.

⁸^(G)Mukama y’awa abantu be amaanyi,
era kye kiddukiro eky’obulokozi bw’oyo gwe yafukako amafuta.

The Voice

Psalm 28

A song of David.

¹Eternal One, I am calling out to You;
    You are the foundation of my life. Please, don’t turn Your ear from me.
If You respond to my pleas with silence,
    I will lose all hope like those silenced by death’s grave.
²Listen to my voice.
    You will hear me begging for Your help
With my hands lifted up in prayer,
    my body turned toward Your holy home.

This Davidic psalm pleads with God to spare him and repay his enemies. It would be difficult to locate this psalm in any one event. During his life David faced many threats from different enemies; not only were these threats from outside his realm, but some of his most difficult challenges came from inside his own family.

³I beg You; don’t punish me with the most heinous men.
    They spend their days doing evil.
Even when they engage their neighbors in pleasantness,
    they are scheming against them.
⁴Pay them back for their deeds;
    hold them accountable for their malice.
Give them what they deserve.
⁵Because these are people who have no respect for You, O Eternal,
    they ignore everything You have done.
So He will tear them down with His powerful hands;
    never will they be built again.

⁶The Eternal should be honored and revered;
    He has heard my cries for help.
⁷The Eternal is the source of my strength and the shield that guards me.
    When I learn to rest and truly trust Him,
He sends His help. This is why my heart is singing!
    I open my mouth to praise Him, and thankfulness rises as song.

⁸The Eternal gives life and power to all His chosen ones;
to His anointed He is a sturdy fortress.
⁹Rescue Your people, and bring prosperity to Your legacy;
may they know You as a shepherd, carrying them at all times.
