Confianza absoluta en Dios
Salmo de David.
27 El Señor es mi luz(A) y mi salvación(B);
¿A quién temeré?
El Señor es la fortaleza de mi vida(C);
¿De quién tendré temor(D)?
2 Cuando los malhechores vinieron sobre mí para devorar mis carnes(E),
Ellos, mis adversarios y mis enemigos, tropezaron y cayeron(F).
3 Si un ejército acampa contra mí(G),
No temerá mi corazón;
Si contra mí se levanta guerra,
A pesar de ello, yo estaré confiado(H).
4 ¶Una cosa he pedido al Señor, y esa buscaré:
Que habite yo en la casa del Señor todos los días de mi vida(I),
Para contemplar la hermosura del Señor(J)
Y para meditar en Su templo(K).
5 Porque en el día de la angustia(L) me esconderá en Su tabernáculo(M);
En lo secreto de Su tienda me ocultará(N);
Sobre una roca me pondrá en alto(O).
6 Entonces será levantada mi cabeza(P) sobre mis enemigos que me cercan,
Y en Su tienda ofreceré sacrificios con voces de júbilo(Q);
Cantaré, sí, cantaré alabanzas al Señor(R).
7 ¶Escucha, oh Señor, mi voz cuando clamo(S);
Ten piedad de mí, y respóndeme(T).
8 Cuando dijiste: «Busquen Mi rostro(U)», mi corazón te respondió:
«Tu rostro, Señor, buscaré(V)».
9 No escondas Tu rostro de mí(W);
No rechaces con ira a Tu siervo(X);
Tú has sido mi ayuda(Y).
No me abandones(Z) ni me desampares(AA),
Oh Dios de mi salvación.
10 Porque aunque mi padre y mi madre me hayan abandonado(AB),
El Señor me recogerá(AC).
11 ¶Señor, enséñame Tu camino(AD),
Y guíame por senda llana
Por causa de mis enemigos(AE).
12 No me entregues a la voluntad de mis adversarios(AF);
Porque testigos falsos se han levantado contra mí(AG),
Y los que respiran violencia(AH).
13 Hubiera yo desmayado, si no hubiera creído que había de ver la bondad del Señor(AI)
En la tierra de los vivientes(AJ).
14 Espera al Señor(AK);
Esfuérzate y aliéntese tu corazón(AL).

El Señor es mi luz y mi salvación
(1a) De David.
27 (1b) El Señor es mi luz y mi salvación,
¿de quién podré tener miedo?
El Señor defiende mi vida,
¿a quién habré de temer?
2 Los malvados, mis enemigos,
se juntan para atacarme y destruirme;
pero ellos son los que tropiezan y caen.
3 Aunque un ejército me rodee,
mi corazón no tendrá miedo;
aunque se preparen para atacarme,
yo permaneceré tranquilo.
4 Sólo una cosa he pedido al Señor,
sólo una cosa deseo:
estar en el templo del Señor
todos los días de mi vida,
para adorarlo en su templo
y contemplar su hermosura.
5 Cuando lleguen los días malos,
el Señor me dará abrigo en su templo;
bajo su sombra me protegerá.
¡Me pondrá a salvo sobre una roca!
6 Entonces podré levantar la cabeza
por encima de mis enemigos;
entonces podré ofrecer sacrificios en el templo,
y gritar de alegría, y cantar himnos al Señor.
7 A ti clamo, Señor: escúchame.
Ten compasión de mí, ¡respóndeme!
8 El corazón me dice:
«Busca la presencia del Señor.»
Y yo, Señor, busco tu presencia.
9 ¡No te escondas de mí!
¡No me rechaces con ira!
¡Mi única ayuda eres tú!
No me dejes solo y sin amparo,
pues tú eres mi Dios y salvador.
10 Aunque mi padre y mi madre me abandonen,
tú, Señor, te harás cargo de mí.
11 Señor, muéstrame tu camino;
guíame por el buen camino
a causa de mis enemigos;
12 no me entregues a su voluntad,
pues se han levantado contra mí
testigos falsos y violentos.
13 Pero yo estoy convencido
de que llegaré a ver la bondad del Señor
a lo largo de esta vida.
14 ¡Ten confianza en el Señor!
¡Ten valor, no te desanimes!
¡Sí, ten confianza en el Señor!

27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
6 And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.
9 Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.
11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Of David.
1 The Lord is my light(A) and my salvation(B)—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold(C) of my life—

2 When the wicked advance against me
to devour[a] me,
it is my enemies and my foes
who will stumble and fall.(E)
3 Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;(F)
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.(G)
4 One thing(H) I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,(I)
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble(J)
he will keep me safe(K) in his dwelling;
he will hide me(L) in the shelter of his sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock.(M)
6 Then my head will be exalted(N)
above the enemies who surround me;(O)
at his sacred tent I will sacrifice(P) with shouts of joy;(Q)
I will sing(R) and make music(S) to the Lord.
7 Hear my voice(T) when I call, Lord;
be merciful to me and answer me.(U)
8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!(V)”
Your face, Lord, I will seek.
9 Do not hide your face(W) from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;(X)
you have been my helper.(Y)
Do not reject me or forsake(Z) me,
God my Savior.(AA)
10 Though my father and mother forsake me,
the Lord will receive me.
11 Teach me your way,(AB) Lord;
lead me in a straight path(AC)
because of my oppressors.(AD)
12 Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses(AE) rise up against me,
spouting malicious accusations.
