¹耶和华啊，求你为我申冤，因我向来行事纯全，我又倚靠耶和华并不摇动。
²耶和华啊，求你察看我，试验我，熬炼我的肺腑心肠。
³因为你的慈爱常在我眼前，我也按你的真理而行。
⁴我没有和虚谎人同坐，也不与瞒哄人的同群。
⁵我恨恶恶人的会，必不与恶人同坐。
⁶耶和华啊，我要洗手表明无辜，才环绕你的祭坛，
⁷我好发称谢的声音，也要述说你一切奇妙的作为。
⁸耶和华啊，我喜爱你所住的殿和你显荣耀的居所。
⁹不要把我的灵魂和罪人一同除掉，不要把我的性命和流人血的一同除掉，
¹⁰他们的手中有奸恶，右手满有贿赂。
¹¹至于我，却要行事纯全，求你救赎我，怜恤我。
¹²我的脚站在平坦地方，在众会中我要称颂耶和华。

A Prayer for Divine Scrutiny and Redemption

A Psalm of David.

26 Vindicate ^(A)me, O Lord,
For I have ^(B)walked in my integrity.
^(C)I have also trusted in the Lord;
I shall not slip.
²^(D)Examine me, O Lord, and ^[a]prove me;
Try my mind and my heart.
³For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes,
And ^(E)I have walked in Your truth.
⁴I have not ^(F)sat with idolatrous mortals,
Nor will I go in with hypocrites.
⁵I have ^(G)hated the assembly of evildoers,
And will not sit with the wicked.

⁶I will wash my hands in innocence;
So I will go about Your altar, O Lord,
⁷That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving,
And tell of all Your wondrous works.
⁸Lord, ^(H)I have loved the habitation of Your house,
And the place ^[b]where Your glory dwells.

⁹^(I)Do^[c] not gather my soul with sinners,
Nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
¹⁰In whose hands is a sinister scheme,
And whose right hand is full of ^(J)bribes.

¹¹But as for me, I will walk in my integrity;
Redeem me and be merciful to me.
¹²^(K)My foot stands in an even place;
In the congregations I will bless the Lord.

¹Een lied van David.

Heer, kom alstublieft voor mij op,
want ik ben onschuldig.
Ik vertrouw altijd op U, zonder te twijfelen.
²Stel me op de proef, Heer, toets mij.
Kijk wat er diep in mijn hart is.
³Want ik denk steeds aan uw liefde
en ik volg U.
⁴Ik blijf ver bij slechte mensen vandaan
en ik ga niet om met mensen
die alleen maar doen alsof ze van U houden.
⁵Ik haat het om met mensen om te gaan
die slechte dingen doen.
Ik doe niet mee met de mensen die zich niets van U aantrekken.
⁶Ik ben helemaal onschuldig, Heer,
en ik ga graag naar uw altaar.
⁷Ik zing graag luid voor U
en vertel andere mensen over al uw wonderen.
⁸Heer, ik houd van uw heiligdom,
het heiligdom van de tent waar U woont,
in uw hemelse macht en majesteit.
⁹Ruk mij niet weg uit het leven.
Dood mij niet samen met de mensen die slechte dingen doen
en die onschuldige mensen vermoorden.
¹⁰Zij zijn misdadigers
en laten zich gemakkelijk omkopen.
¹¹Maar ik leef zoals U het wil.
Heb medelijden met mij en red mij!

¹²De Heer redt mij uit alle moeilijkheden.
Wanneer we bij elkaar komen,
zal ik de Heer prijzen.
