Psalm 26
Of David.
1 Vindicate me,(A) Lord,
for I have led a blameless life;(B)
I have trusted(C) in the Lord
and have not faltered.(D)
2 Test me,(E) Lord, and try me,
examine my heart and my mind;(F)
3 for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love(G)
and have lived(H) in reliance on your faithfulness.(I)
4 I do not sit(J) with the deceitful,
nor do I associate with hypocrites.(K)
5 I abhor(L) the assembly of evildoers
and refuse to sit with the wicked.
6 I wash my hands in innocence,(M)
and go about your altar, Lord,
7 proclaiming aloud your praise(N)
and telling of all your wonderful deeds.(O)
8 Lord, I love(P) the house where you live,
the place where your glory dwells.(Q)
9 Do not take away my soul along with sinners,
my life with those who are bloodthirsty,(R)
10 in whose hands are wicked schemes,(S)
whose right hands are full of bribes.(T)
11 I lead a blameless life;
deliver me(U) and be merciful to me.

26 «Di Davide» Fammi giustizia, o Eterno, perché io ho camminato nella mia integrità e ho confidato nell'Eterno senza vacillare.
2 Investigami, o Eterno, e mettimi alla prova; purifica col fuoco la mia mente e il mio cuore.
3 Poiché la tua benignità mi sta davanti agli occhi, e cammino nella tua verità.
4 Non mi siedo con uomini bugiardi e non vado con gli ipocriti.
5 Io odio l'Adunanza dei malvagi e non mi associo con gli empi.
6 Io lavo le mie mani nell'Innocenza vado intorno al tuo altare o Eterno
7 per proclamare ad alta voce la tua lode e per raccontare tutte le tue meraviglie.
8 O Eterno, io amo la dimora della tua casa e il luogo dove risiede la tua gloria.
9 Non mettere l'anima mia assieme ai peccatori e non aggregarmi agli uomini di sangue,
10 perché nelle loro mani ci sono piani malvagi e la loro destra è colma di regali.
11 Ma io camminerò nella mia integrità, riscattami e abbi pietà di me.
12 Il mio piede sta fermo in luogo piano. Nelle assemblee io benedirò l'Eterno.

26 Hazme justicia, Señor,
pues he vivido en integridad;
¡en el Señor confío sin titubear!
2 Examíname, Señor, ¡ponme a prueba!,
purifica mi corazón y mi mente.
3 Tu gran amor lo tengo presente
y siempre ando en tu verdad.
4 Yo no convivo con los mentirosos
ni me junto con los hipócritas;
5 aborrezco la compañía de los malvados;
no cultivo la amistad de los perversos.
6 Con manos limpias e inocentes
camino, Señor, en torno a tu altar,
7 proclamando en voz alta tu alabanza
y contando todas tus maravillas.
8 Señor, yo amo la casa donde vives,
el lugar donde reside tu gloria.
9 No me quites la vida junto a los pecadores
ni me hagas correr la suerte de los asesinos,
10 entre gente que tiene las manos
llenas de artimañas y sobornos.
11 Yo, en cambio, vivo en integridad;
líbrame y compadécete de mí.
12 Tengo los pies en terreno firme
y en la gran asamblea bendeciré al Señor.

26 Lord, when you hand down your sentence, let it be in my favor.
I have lived without blame.
I have trusted in the Lord.
I have never doubted him.
2 Lord, test me. Try me out.
Look deep down into my heart and mind.
3 I have always remembered your love that never fails.
I have always depended on the fact that you are faithful.
4 I don’t spend time with people who tell lies.
I don’t keep company with pretenders.
5 I hate to be with a group of sinful people.
I refuse to spend time with those who are evil.
6 I wash my hands to show that I’m not guilty.
Lord, I come near your altar.
7 I shout my praise to you.
I tell about all the wonderful things you have done.
8 Lord, I love the house where you live.
I love the place where your glory is.
9 Don’t destroy me together with sinners.
Don’t take away my life along with murderers.
10 Their hands are always planning to do evil.
Their right hands are full of money that has bought their help.
11 But I live without blame.
Save me from harm and treat me with kindness.
12 My feet stand on level ground.
In the whole community I will praise the Lord.
