Vers toi, Eternel, je me tourne.

et que mes ennemis ╵se réjouissent de mon sort.
Aucun de ceux ╵qui s’attendent à toi ╵ne connaîtra jamais la honte.
Mais honte à ceux ╵qui, sans raison, sont traîtres[b].

O Eternel, ╵montre-moi le chemin,
enseigne-moi ╵quelle est la voie ╵que tu veux que je suive.
Dirige-moi ╵selon ta vérité ╵et instruis-moi !
Car c’est toi le Dieu qui me sauve,
et je m’attends à toi ╵à longueur de journée.
O Eternel, ╵veuille agir en fonction[c] ╵de la compassion ╵et de l’amour,
qui te caractérisent ╵depuis toujours.
Ne tiens plus compte ╵de ces péchés de ma jeunesse, ╵de mes fautes passées,
mais traite-moi ╵selon ta grâce,
car tu es bon ╵ô Eternel !

Oui, l’Eternel est bon, ╵et il est juste :
il indique aux pécheurs ╵le chemin qu’il faut suivre.
Les humbles, il les guide ╵sur le sentier du droit ;
il leur enseigne ╵le chemin qu’il prescrit.
10 Toutes les voies de l’Eternel ╵sont amour et fidélité
pour ceux qui sont fidèles ╵à son alliance ╵et obéissent ╵à ses commandements.
11 Pour l’amour de ton nom, ╵ô Eternel,
pardonne mon péché ╵qui est si grand.
12 A l’homme qui le craint,
l’Eternel montre ╵la voie qu’il doit choisir.
13 Il le fait vivre ╵dans le bonheur
et sa postérité ╵possède le pays[d].
14 L’Eternel confie ses desseins ╵aux hommes qui le craignent,
il les instruit de son alliance.
15 Mes yeux sont constamment ╵tournés vers l’Eternel,
car c’est lui qui dégage ╵mes pieds pris au filet.

16 Regarde-moi, ô Eternel, ╵et fais-moi grâce,
car je suis seul et malheureux.
17 Mon cœur est dans l’angoisse,
délivre-moi de mes tourments !
18 Vois ma misère et ma souffrance,
pardonne-moi tous mes péchés !
19 Oh ! vois combien mes ennemis ╵sont en grand nombre,
et quelle haine violente ╵ils ont pour moi !
20 Protège-moi, ╵délivre-moi,
garde-moi de la honte :
je cherche en toi ╵un sûr refuge.

In you, Lord my God,

    do not let me be put to shame,
    nor let my enemies triumph over me.
No one who hopes in you
    will ever be put to shame,(C)
but shame will come on those
    who are treacherous(D) without cause.

Show me your ways, Lord,
    teach me your paths.(E)
Guide me in your truth(F) and teach me,
    for you are God my Savior,(G)
    and my hope is in you(H) all day long.
Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,(I)
    for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth(J)

Good and upright(N) is the Lord;
    therefore he instructs(O) sinners in his ways.
He guides(P) the humble in what is right
