Wer darf vor dem König der Herrlichkeit erscheinen?
24 Von David. Ein Psalm.
Die Erde und alles, was darauf lebt, gehört dem
der ganze Erdkreis samt seinen Bewohnern.
2 Denn er selbst hat das Fundament der Erde auf dem Grund der Meere befestigt[a],
und über den Wassern gab er ihr festen Bestand.
3 Wer darf zum Berg des
und wer darf an seiner heiligen Stätte vor ihm stehen?
4 Jeder, dessen Herz und Hände frei von Schuld sind[b],
der keine Götzen anbetet[c] und keinen Meineid schwört.
5 Er wird Segen empfangen vom
Gott, sein Retter, wird ihm in Treue begegnen.[d]
6 Daran erkennt man Gottes wahres Volk,
Menschen, die nach ihm fragen:
es sind die, ´
Sie sind die rechten Nachkommen Jakobs.[e][f]
7 Tut euch weit auf, ihr mächtigen Tore,
gebt den Weg frei, ihr uralten Pforten[g],
damit der König der Herrlichkeit einziehen kann.

A Psalm of David.
24 The (A)earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.
2 For He has (B)founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the [a]waters.
3 (C)Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
4 He who has (D)clean hands and (E)a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor (F)sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is Jacob, the generation of those who (G)seek Him,
Who seek Your face. Selah
7 (H)Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
(I)And the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in (J)battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah
