El rey confía en el Señor
21 Al maestro del coro. Salmo de David.
2 Señor, por tu poder se alegra el rey,
¡cómo se regocija por tu victoria!
3 Le concedes lo que su corazón desea,
no le niegas lo que sus labios piden; [ Pausa]
4 con las mejores bendiciones te acercas a él,
ciñes a su cabeza una corona de oro fino.
5 Te pidió vida y se la diste,
una larga vida que no tendrá fin.
6 Por tu victoria es grande su honor,
tú le confieres gloria y majestad,
7 le otorgas bendiciones eternas,
lo llenas, junto a ti, de alegría.
8 Porque el rey confía en el Señor,
por el amor del Altísimo no sucumbirá.
9 Tu mano golpeará a tus enemigos,
tu diestra golpeará a tus adversarios.
10 Harás de ellos un horno ardiente
cuando estalle tu ira, Señor,
cuando los consuma tu cólera y el fuego los devore.
11 Harás desaparecer a sus hijos de esta tierra,
a sus descendientes de entre los mortales.
12 Porque intentaron hacerte daño,
tramaron intrigas sin éxito alguno.
13 Tú los pondrás en fuga
tensando tu arco contra ellos.
14 Álzate, Señor, con tu poder;
nosotros cantaremos y alabaremos tu bravura.

21 En tu fuerza, Señor, se regocija el rey;
¡cuánto se alegra en tus victorias!
2 Le has concedido lo que su corazón desea;
no le has negado lo que sus labios piden. Selah
3 Has salido a su encuentro con ricas bendiciones;
lo has coronado con diadema de oro fino.
4 Te pidió vida y se la concediste.
Le diste una vida larga y duradera.
5 Por tus victorias se acrecentó su gloria;
lo revestiste de honor y majestad.
6 Has hecho de él manantial de bendiciones continuas;
tu presencia lo ha llenado de alegría.
7 El rey confía en el Señor;
por el gran amor del Altísimo,
no caerá jamás.
8 Tu mano alcanzará a todos tus enemigos;
tu diestra alcanzará a los que te aborrecen.
9 Cuando tú, Señor, te manifiestes,
los convertirás en un horno encendido.
En su ira los devorará el Señor;
un fuego los consumirá.
10 Borrarás de la tierra a su simiente;
a sus descendientes de entre la humanidad.
11 Aunque tramen hacerte daño
y maquinen perversidades,
no se saldrán con la suya.
12 Porque tú los harás retroceder
cuando tenses tu arco contra ellos.
13 Enaltécete, Señor, con tu poder.
¡Nosotros entonaremos salmos y cantaremos tus proezas!

For the director of music. A psalm of David.
2 You have granted him his heart’s desire(C)
and have not withheld the request of his lips.[b]
3 You came to greet him with rich blessings
and placed a crown of pure gold(D) on his head.(E)
4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—
length of days, for ever and ever.(F)
5 Through the victories(G) you gave, his glory is great;
you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.(H)
6 Surely you have granted him unending blessings
and made him glad with the joy(I) of your presence.(J)
7 For the king trusts in the Lord;(K)
through the unfailing love(L) of the Most High(M)
he will not be shaken.(N)
8 Your hand will lay hold(O) on all your enemies;
your right hand will seize your foes.
9 When you appear for battle,
you will burn them up as in a blazing furnace.
The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath,
and his fire will consume them.(P)
10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth,
their posterity from mankind.(Q)
11 Though they plot evil(R) against you
and devise wicked schemes,(S) they cannot succeed.
12 You will make them turn their backs(T)
when you aim at them with drawn bow.
