20 «Al maestro del coro. Salmo di Davide» L'Eterno ti risponda nel giorno dell'avversità; il nome del DIO di Giacobbe ti metta al sicuro in alto.
2 Ti mandi soccorso dal santuario e ti sostenga da Sion;
3 si ricordi di tutte le tue offerte e accetti il tuo olocausto.
4 Ti dia secondo quel che il tuo cuore desidera e porti a compimento ogni tuo progetto.
5 Noi canteremo di gioia nella tua liberazione e alzeremo le nostre bandiere nel nome del nostro DIO. L'Eterno adempia tutte le tue richieste.
6 Ora so che l'Eterno salva il suo unto; gli risponderà dal suo cielo santo con la forza salvatrice della sua destra.
7 Alcuni confidano nei carri e altri nei cavalli, ma noi ricorderemo il nome dell'Eterno, il nostro DIO.
8 Quelli si sono piegati e sono caduti; ma noi ci siamo rialzati e rimaniamo in piedi.
9 Salva, o Eterno; ci risponda il re nel giorno in cui grideremo.

For the director of music. A psalm of David.
1 May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;(A)
may the name of the God of Jacob(B) protect you.(C)
2 May he send you help(D) from the sanctuary(E)
and grant you support(F) from Zion.(G)
3 May he remember(H) all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.[b](I)
4 May he give you the desire of your heart(J)
and make all your plans succeed.(K)
5 May we shout for joy(L) over your victory
and lift up our banners(M) in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests.(N)
6 Now this I know:
The Lord gives victory to his anointed.(O)
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.(P)
7 Some trust in chariots(Q) and some in horses,(R)
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.(S)
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,(T)
but we rise up(U) and stand firm.(V)
9 Lord, give victory to the king!
Answer us(W) when we call!

1 May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble;
may the name of the God of Jacob defend you;
2 may He send you help from the sanctuary,
and strengthen you from Zion;
3 may He remember all your offerings,
and accept your burnt offering. Selah
4 May He grant you according to your own heart,
and fulfill all your counsel.
5 We will rejoice in your salvation,
and in the name of our God we will set up our banners;
may the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
6 Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
with the saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses,
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
8 They are brought down and fallen,
but we arise and stand upright.
9 Save, Lord!
May the King answer us when we call.
