Gebet für den König
20 Ein Lied von David.
2 Der Herr erhöre deinen Hilferuf, wenn du in Not bist,
der Gott Jakobs beschütze dich!
3 Aus seinem Heiligtum komme er dir zu Hilfe,
vom Berg Zion aus stärke und stütze er dich!
4 Er beachte die Gaben, die du ihm bringst,
deine Brandopfer nehme er gnädig an!
5 Er gebe dir, was du von Herzen wünschst,
was du dir vorgenommen hast, lasse er gelingen!
6 Wenn er dir den Sieg geschenkt hat, werden wir vor Freude jubeln
und im Namen unseres Gottes die Fahnen schwingen.
Der Herr erfülle alle deine Bitten!
7 Jetzt weiß ich, dass der Herr seinem König hilft,
den er auserwählt und eingesetzt hat[a].
Er antwortet ihm aus seiner himmlischen Wohnung,
machtvoll greift er ein und rettet ihn.
8 Manche Völker schwören auf gepanzerte Kriegswagen
und auf die Kampfkraft ihrer Reiterheere.
Wir aber vertrauen auf die Kraft des Herrn, unseres Gottes.
9 Sie wanken und stürzen,
wir aber stehen fest und halten stand.
10 Herr, hilf dem König![b]
Erhöre uns, wenn wir zu dir rufen!

20 The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;
2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;
3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.
4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.
5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.
6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
9 Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

1 May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;(A)
may the name of the God of Jacob(B) protect you.(C)
2 May he send you help(D) from the sanctuary(E)
and grant you support(F) from Zion.(G)
3 May he remember(H) all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.[b](I)
4 May he give you the desire of your heart(J)
and make all your plans succeed.(K)
5 May we shout for joy(L) over your victory
and lift up our banners(M) in the name of our God.
May the Lord grant all your requests.(N)
6 Now this I know:
The Lord gives victory to his anointed.(O)
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.(P)
7 Some trust in chariots(Q) and some in horses,(R)
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.(S)
8 They are brought to their knees and fall,(T)
but we rise up(U) and stand firm.(V)
9 Lord, give victory to the king!
