耶和华之受膏者为王
2 外邦为什么争闹，万民为什么谋算虚妄的事？
2 世上的君王一齐起来，臣宰一同商议，要抵挡耶和华并他的受膏者，
3 说：“我们要挣开他们的捆绑，脱去他们的绳索！”
4 那坐在天上的必发笑，主必嗤笑他们。
5 那时，他要在怒中责备他们，在烈怒中惊吓他们，
6 说：“我已经立我的君在锡安我的圣山上了。”
7 受膏者说：“我要传圣旨。耶和华曾对我说：‘你是我的儿子，我今日生你。
8 你求我，我就将列国赐你为基业，将地极赐你为田产。
9 你必用铁杖打破他们，你必将他们如同窑匠的瓦器摔碎。’”
10 现在你们君王应当醒悟，你们世上的审判官该受管教！
11 当存畏惧侍奉耶和华，又当存战兢而快乐。
12 当以嘴亲子，恐怕他发怒，你们便在道中灭亡，因为他的怒气快要发作。凡投靠他的，都是有福的！
Psalm 2

The Lord's king rules[a]
2 Why are nations making plans to turn against the Lord?
All their plans will fail!
2 Kings and rulers decide to work together,
to fight against the Lord
and the king that he has chosen.
3 They say, ‘We will not accept their authority over us!
We will get free from their power!’[b]
4 The Lord who sits on his throne in heaven laughs at them.
He says that their plans are useless.
5 Then he becomes very angry and he frightens them.
He warns them with strong words and he says,
6 ‘I have put my king on his throne in Zion.[c]
I have put him on my holy mountain.’
7 I will tell you what the Lord has promised to me, his king.
He said to me, ‘You are my son.
Yes, today I have become your father![d]
8 Ask me and see what I will do!
I will give you all the nations on the earth.
They will all belong to you.
9 You will break them with an iron sceptre,
as if they are clay pots.’
10 So, you kings, think carefully!
You who rule the nations of the world, learn this lesson:
11 Respect the Lord and serve him.
Enjoy his rule with fear!
12 Bend down low in front of his son!
If not, the Lord will be angry.
He will quickly become very angry.
You will suddenly die!
But as for those who serve the Lord as their king,
he blesses them and he takes care of them all.

- 2:1 This Psalm speaks about the king of Israel that God had chosen. The word used for this king in verse 2 is the same word as Messiah. The Psalm also tells us about Jesus. The prophets said that Jesus would be king of all the nations.
- 2:3 See Acts 4:25-26.
- 2:6 God put David in Zion as king. Zion was part of Jerusalem. When David died, his son Solomon became king. Their descendants also ruled as kings after that. Jesus was a descendant of King David. He became the king who rules for ever.
- 2:7 See Acts 13:33 and Hebrews 1:5; 5:5.
