Praise to God for His Word and Providence
147 Praise[a] the Lord!
For (A)it is good to sing praises to our God;
(B)For it is pleasant, and (C)praise is beautiful.
2 The Lord (D)builds up Jerusalem;
(E)He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.
3 (F)He heals the brokenhearted
And binds up their [b]wounds.
4 (G)He counts the number of the stars;
He calls them all by name.
5 (H)Great is our Lord, and (I)mighty in power;
(J)His understanding is infinite.
6 (K)The Lord lifts up the humble;
He casts the wicked down to the ground.
7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
Sing praises on the harp to our God,
8 (L)Who covers the heavens with clouds,
Who prepares rain for the earth,
Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.
9 (M)He gives to the beast its food,
And (N)to the young ravens that cry.
10 (O)He does not delight in the strength of the horse;
He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.
11 The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him,
In those who hope in His mercy.
12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem!
Praise your God, O Zion!
13 For He has strengthened the bars of your gates;
He has blessed your children within you.
14 (P)He makes peace in your borders,
And (Q)fills you with [c]the finest wheat.
15 (R)He sends out His command to the earth;
His word runs very swiftly.
16 (S)He gives snow like wool;
He scatters the frost like ashes;
17 He casts out His hail like [d]morsels;
Who can stand before His cold?
18 (T)He sends out His word and melts them;
He causes His wind to blow, and the waters flow.
19 (U)He declares His word to Jacob,
(V)His statutes and His judgments to Israel.
20 (W)He has not dealt thus with any nation;
And as for His judgments, they have not known them.

147 Ha-lê-lu-gia!
Thật là tốt đẹp khi ca tụng Đức Chúa Trời chúng ta;
Thật là thích thú và hợp lý khi ca ngợi Ngài.
2 CHÚA xây dựng Giê-ru-sa-lem;
Ngài tập họp lại những kẻ tha hương lưu lạc của Y-sơ-ra-ên.
3 Ngài chữa lành những tấm lòng tan vỡ,
Băng bó những vết thương của họ.
4 Ngài định số lượng các tinh tú,
Đặt tên cho tất cả các ngôi sao.
5 CHÚA của chúng ta vĩ đại và đầy quyền năng;
Sự hiểu biết của Ngài thật vô hạn.
6 CHÚA nâng đỡ những kẻ khốn cùng,
Nhưng đánh đổ những kẻ ác xuống đất.
7 Hãy ca hát cảm tạ CHÚA,
Hãy gảy đàn hạc và ca ngợi Đức Chúa Trời chúng ta.
8 Ngài che phủ các tầng trời bằng mây,
Cung cấp mưa trên đất
Và làm cỏ mọc trên các đồi;
9 Ngài ban thực phẩm cho thú vật,
Ngay cả cho các chim quạ con khi chúng kêu la.
10 Chúa không vui vì sức mạnh của ngựa,
Cũng không thích vì đôi chân mạnh[a] của một người;
11 Nhưng CHÚA vui lòng về người kính sợ Ngài,
Là người trông cậy nơi tình yêu thương của Ngài.
12 Hỡi Giê-ru-sa-lem, hãy ca tụng CHÚA;
Hỡi Si-ôn, hãy ca ngợi Đức Chúa Trời ngươi.
13 Vì Ngài làm cho then cổng ngươi vững chắc;
Chúc phước cho con cái ở giữa ngươi.
14 Ngài cho biên giới ngươi được bình an;
Đổ đầy cho ngươi thóc lúa tốt nhất.
15 Ngài truyền lệnh ra trên đất;
Lệnh Ngài được thi hành[b] tức khắc.
16 Ngài cho tuyết phủ như tấm lông chiên;
Ngài rải sương mai như tro bụi.
17 Ngài đổ băng giá xuống như đá sỏi;
Ai có thể chịu nổi cơn giá lạnh của Ngài?
18 Ngài truyền lệnh tuyết liền tan ra;
Ngài làm gió thổi, nước bèn chảy.
19 Ngài truyền lời Ngài cho Gia-cốp,
Các quy luật và phán quyết cho Y-sơ-ra-ên.
20 Ngài không làm như vậy với một nước nào khác;
Chúng không hề biết các phán quyết của Ngài.

he gathers the exiles(D) of Israel.
3 He heals the brokenhearted(E)
and binds up their wounds.(F)
4 He determines the number of the stars(G)
and calls them each by name.
5 Great is our Lord(H) and mighty in power;(I)
his understanding has no limit.(J)
6 The Lord sustains the humble(K)
but casts the wicked(L) to the ground.
8 He covers the sky with clouds;(Q)
he supplies the earth with rain(R)
and makes grass grow(S) on the hills.
9 He provides food(T) for the cattle
and for the young ravens(U) when they call.
10 His pleasure is not in the strength(V) of the horse,(W)
nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
11 the Lord delights(X) in those who fear him,(Y)
who put their hope(Z) in his unfailing love.(AA)
12 Extol the Lord, Jerusalem;(AB)
praise your God, Zion.
13 He strengthens the bars of your gates(AC)
and blesses your people(AD) within you.
14 He grants peace(AE) to your borders
and satisfies you(AF) with the finest of wheat.(AG)
15 He sends his command(AH) to the earth;
his word runs(AI) swiftly.
16 He spreads the snow(AJ) like wool
and scatters the frost(AK) like ashes.
17 He hurls down his hail(AL) like pebbles.
Who can withstand his icy blast?
18 He sends his word(AM) and melts them;
he stirs up his breezes,(AN) and the waters flow.
19 He has revealed his word(AO) to Jacob,(AP)
his laws and decrees(AQ) to Israel.
20 He has done this for no other nation;(AR)
they do not know(AS) his laws.[b]

147 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
2 The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.
3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
6 The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
7 Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:
8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.
9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.
19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord.
