Psalmen 145
Het Boek
145 Een loflied van David.
Mijn God, ik zal U roemen.
U bent mijn Koning.
Uw naam wil ik mijn leven lang loven.
2 Elke dag zal ik U eren
en uw naam prijzen zolang ik leef.
3 De Here is een grote God
en Hem komt alle eer toe.
Voor ons mensen is niet te begrijpen
hoe groot Hij is.
4 Van generatie op generatie
zal men U prijzen om wat U doet.
Men zal dan vertellen
over uw grote daden.
5 Ik wil vertellen
over uw geweldige heerlijkheid
en uw machtige wonderen.
6 Die gaan over uw macht en roem.
Ik wil vertellen hoe groot U bent.
7 Laat uw grote goedheid geroemd worden
en juichende liederen worden gezongen
over uw rechtvaardigheid.
8 De Here geeft genade
en ontfermt Zich liefdevol.
Hij heeft een onmetelijk geduld
en is groot in zijn goedheid en liefde.
9 De Here is goed voor iedereen
en vol liefde ontfermt Hij Zich
over alles wat Hij heeft gemaakt.
10 Alles wat U hebt gemaakt,
prijst U, Here.
Ook allen die U liefhebt,
zullen U loven.
11 Zij vertellen over uw goddelijk koningschap
en over uw grote macht.
12 Zo zullen alle mensen horen
over uw grote daden
en over de geweldige majesteit van uw koningschap.
13 Uw koningschap is eeuwig,
U heerst over elke generatie.
14 De Here ondersteunt
ieder die dreigt te vallen.
Ieder die gebukt gaat,
helpt Hij overeind.
15 Alle ogen zijn op U gericht,
U voorziet ieder op zijn tijd van voedsel.
16 Als U uw hand opendoet,
maakt U iedereen gelukkig.
17 De Here is rechtvaardig
in alles wat Hij doet.
Zijn goedheid en liefde stralen af
van alles wat Hij maakt.
18 De Here is dichtbij ieder
die Hem aanroept met een zuiver hart.
19 Mensen die ontzag voor Hem hebben,
komt Hij tegemoet.
Hij hoort hun roepen om hulp en redt hen.
20 De Here zorgt voor ieder
die van Hem houdt,
maar Hij vernietigt de ongelovigen.
21 Zonder ophouden wil ik vertellen
over de grootheid van de Here.
Tot in de eeuwigheid zal alles wat leeft
zijn heilige naam eren.

145 I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.
2 Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.
5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.
6 And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.
7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.
8 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
9 The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
10 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.
11 They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy power;
12 To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.
13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.
14 The Lord upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.
15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.
16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.
18 The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.
19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.
20 The Lord preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.
21 My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.

145 I will [a]extol You, my God, O King;
And I will bless Your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever.
3 (B)Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
And (C)His greatness is [b]unsearchable.
4 (D)One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
5 [c]I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty,
And [d]on Your wondrous works.
6 Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts,
And I will declare Your greatness.

And shall sing of Your righteousness.

Slow to anger and great in mercy.

Great Is the Lord

145 (A)I will extol you, my God and (B)King,
and bless your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless you
(C)and praise your name forever and ever.
3 (D)Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised,
and his (E)greatness is unsearchable.
4 (F)One generation shall commend your works to another,
and shall declare your mighty acts.
5 On (G)the glorious splendor of your majesty,
and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
6 They shall speak of (H)the might of your awesome deeds,
and I will declare your greatness.
