Psalm 143

A Cry for Help

A Davidic psalm.

Lord, hear my prayer.
In Your faithfulness listen to my plea,
and in Your righteousness answer me.(A)
Do not bring Your servant into judgment,(B)
for no one alive is righteous in Your sight.(C)

For the enemy has pursued me,
crushing me to the ground,
making me live in darkness
like those long dead.(D)
My spirit is weak within me;
my heart is overcome with dismay.(E)

I remember the days of old;
I meditate on all You have done;
I reflect on the work of Your hands.(F)
I spread out my hands to You;
I am like parched land before You.(G)Selah

Answer me quickly, Lord;
my spirit fails.(H)
Don’t hide Your face from me,
or I will be like those
going down to the Pit.(I)
Let me experience
Your faithful love in the morning,
for I trust in You.(J)
Reveal to me the way I should go
because I long for You.(K)
Rescue me from my enemies, Lord;
I come to You for protection.[a](L)
10 Teach me to do Your will,
for You are my God.(M)
May Your gracious Spirit
lead me on level ground.(N)

11 Because of Your name, Yahweh,
let me live.
In Your righteousness deliver me from trouble,(O)
12 and in Your faithful love destroy my enemies.
Wipe out all those who attack me,
for I am Your servant.(P)

An Earnest Appeal for Guidance and Deliverance

A Psalm of David.

143 Hear my prayer, O Lord,
Give ear to my supplications!
In Your faithfulness answer me,
And in Your righteousness.
Do not enter into judgment with Your servant,
(A)For in Your sight no one living is righteous.

For the enemy has persecuted my soul;
He has crushed my life to the ground;
He has made me dwell in [a]darkness,
Like those who have long been dead.
(B)Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me;
My heart within me is distressed.

(C)I remember the days of old;
I meditate on all Your works;
I [b]muse on the work of Your hands.
I spread out my hands to You;
(D)My soul longs for You like a thirsty land. Selah

Answer me speedily, O Lord;
My spirit fails!
Do not hide Your face from me,
(E)Lest I [c]be like those who [d]go down into the pit.
Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness (F)in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
(G)Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For (H)I lift up my soul to You.

Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies;
[e]In You I take shelter.
10 (I)Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
(J)Your Spirit is good.
Lead me in (K)the land of uprightness.

11 (L)Revive me, O Lord, for Your name’s sake!
For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12 In Your mercy (M)cut[f] off my enemies,
And destroy all those who afflict my soul;
For I am Your servant.

Awit ni David.

143 Pakinggan mo, O Panginoon, ang aking dalangin,
    iyong dinggin ang aking mga daing!
    Sa iyong katapatan, sa iyong katuwiran, ako'y iyong sagutin!
At(A) huwag kang pumasok na kasama ng iyong lingkod sa kahatulan;
    sapagkat walang taong nabubuhay na matuwid sa iyong harapan.
Sapagkat inusig ng kaaway ang aking kaluluwa;
    kanyang dinurog sa lupa ang aking buhay,
    pinatira niya ako sa madilim na dako gaya ng mga matagal nang patay.
Kaya't ang aking espiritu ay nanlulupaypay sa loob ko;
    ang puso ko ay kinikilabutan sa loob ko.

Aking naaalala ang mga araw nang una,
    aking ginugunita ang lahat mong ginawa;
    aking binubulay-bulay ang gawa ng iyong mga kamay.
Iniuunat ko sa iyo ang aking mga kamay,
    ang kaluluwa ko'y uhaw sa iyo na gaya ng lupang tigang. (Selah)

Magmadali ka, O Panginoon, na ako'y iyong sagutin!
    Ang espiritu ko'y nanlulupaypay!
Huwag mong ikubli ang iyong mukha sa akin;
    baka ako'y maging gaya nila na nagsibaba sa Hukay.
