143 Rabbiyow, tukashadayda maqal, oo baryootankayga dhegta u dhig,
Oo daacadnimadaada iyo xaqnimadaada iigu jawaab.
2 Anoo addoonkaaga ah xukun ha i gelin,
Waayo, inta nool oo dhan ma jiro nin hortaada lagu caddayn doonaa inuu xaq yahay.
3 Waayo, cadowgaa naftayda silciyey,
Noloshaydiina dhulkuu ku tuuray,
Oo wuxuu iga dhigay inaan meelo gudcur ah dego, sidii kuwii waagii hore dhintay.
4 Sidaas daraaddeed ayaa ruuxaygu iigu dhex itaal darnaadaa,
Qalbigayguna gudahayguu ku cidloobay.
5 Waxaan soo xusuustaa wakhtigii hore,
Falimahaaga oo dhanna waan ka fikiraa,
Oo waxaan fiiro u yeeshaa shuqulkii gacmahaaga.
6 Gacmahaygaan kuu hoorsadaa,
Oo naftaydu adigay kuu harraaddaa sida dhul oommane ah. (Selaah)
7 Rabbiyow, dhaqso iigu soo jawaab, waayo, naftaydu way itaal darnaataa.
Wejigaaga ha iga qarin,
Waaba intaasoo aan noqdaa sida kuwa godka ku dhaca oo kale.
8 Aroorta naxariistaada i maqashii,
Waayo, adigaan isku kaa halleeyaa,
I garansii sidii aan u socon lahaa,
Waayo, naftaydaan kor kuugu qaadaa.
9 Rabbiyow, cadaawayaashayda iga samatabbixi,
Waayo, adaan kugu soo cararaa inaad i qariso.
10 I bar si aan doonistaada u sameeyo, waayo, waxaad tahay Ilaahayga,
Ruuxaaga wanaagsanu ha igu dhex hoggaamiyo dalka qummanaanta.
11 Rabbiyow, ii soo noolee magacaaga daraaddiis,
Oo xaqnimadaada naftayda kaga soo bixi dhibaato.
12 Oo raxmaddaada cadaawayaashayda ku wada tirtir,
Kuwa naftayda dhiba oo dhanna baabbi'i,

Signore, ascolta la mia preghiera,
porgi orecchio alle mie suppliche;
nella tua fedeltà e nella tua giustizia, rispondimi,
2 e non chiamare in giudizio il tuo servo,
perché nessun vivente sarà trovato giusto davanti a te.
3 Poiché il nemico perseguita l’anima mia;
egli calpesta al suolo la mia vita;
mi fa abitare in luoghi tenebrosi
come coloro che sono morti già da lungo tempo.
4 Il mio spirito è abbattuto in me,
il mio cuore è tutto smarrito dentro di me.
5 Ricordo i giorni antichi;
medito su tutte le tue azioni;
rifletto sull’opera delle tue mani.
6 Tendo le mani verso di te;
l’anima mia, come arida terra, è assetata di te. [Pausa]
7 Affrèttati a rispondermi, Signore;
lo spirito mio viene meno;
non nascondermi il tuo volto,
perché io non diventi simile
a quelli che scendono nella tomba.
8 Al mattino fammi udire la tua bontà,
perché in te confido;
fammi conoscere la via da seguire,
poiché io elevo l’anima mia a te.
9 Liberami dai miei nemici, Signore;
io cerco rifugio in te.
10 Insegnami a fare la tua volontà,
poiché tu sei il mio Dio;
il tuo Spirito benevolo mi guidi in terra piana.
11 Signore, fammi vivere per amore del tuo nome;
nella tua giustizia libera l’anima mia dalla tribolazione!
12 Nella tua bontà distruggi i miei nemici,
fa’ perire tutti quelli che opprimono l’anima mia,
perché io sono tuo servo.

My Soul Thirsts for You
A Psalm of David.
143 Hear my prayer, O Lord;
(A)give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your (B)faithfulness answer me, in your (C)righteousness!
2 (D)Enter not into judgment with your servant,
for no one living is righteous (E)before you.
3 For the enemy has pursued my soul;
(F)he has crushed my life to the ground;
(G)he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead.
4 Therefore my spirit (H)faints within me;
my heart within me is appalled.
5 (I)I remember the days of old;
(J)I meditate on all that you have done;
I ponder the work of your hands.
6 (K)I stretch out my hands to you;
(L)my soul thirsts for you like (M)a parched land. Selah
7 (N)Answer me quickly, O Lord!
(O)My spirit fails!
(P)Hide not your face from me,
(Q)lest I be like those who go down to the pit.
8 (R)Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love,
for in you I (S)trust.
(T)Make me know the way I should go,
(U)for to you I lift up my soul.
9 (V)Deliver me from my enemies, O Lord!
I have fled to you for refuge.[a]

143 Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.
5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
7 Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
9 Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.
10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
11 Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.
