被擄之民向 神的哀求
137 我們曾坐在巴比倫的河畔，
在那裡我們一想起錫安就哭了。
2 我們把我們的琴
掛在那裡的柳樹上。
3 因為在那裡，擄掠我們的人要我們唱歌，
苦待我們的人要我們娛樂他們；
他們說：“為我們唱一首錫安歌吧！”
4 我們怎能在異族之地
唱耶和華的歌呢？
5 耶路撒冷啊！如果我忘記你，
情願我的右手忘記技巧（“忘記技巧”或譯：“枯乾”）。
6 如果我不記念你，
如果我不高舉耶路撒冷
超過我最大的喜樂，
情願我的舌頭緊貼上膛。
7 耶和華啊！求你記念以東人在耶路撒冷遭難的日子所行的，
他們說：“拆毀它，拆毀它，
直拆到根基。”
8 將要被毀滅的（“將要被毀滅的”有古譯本作“毀滅者”）巴比倫城（“城”原文作“女子”）啊！
照著你待我們的行為報復你的，
那人有福了。

被掳者的哀歌
137 我们坐在巴比伦河畔，
想起锡安禁不住凄然泪下。
2 我们把琴挂在柳树上。
3 俘虏我们的人要我们唱歌，
掳掠我们的人要我们歌唱，说：
“给我们唱一首锡安的歌。”
4 我们流落异邦，
怎能唱颂赞耶和华的歌呢？
5 耶路撒冷啊，倘若我忘了你，
情愿我的右手无法再拨弄琴弦；
6 倘若我忘了你，
不以你为我的至爱，
情愿我的舌头不能再歌唱。
7 耶和华啊，
求你记住耶路撒冷沦陷时以东人的行径。
他们喊道：
“拆毁这城，把它夷为平地！”
8 巴比伦城啊，
你快要灭亡了，
那向你以牙还牙为我们复仇的人有福了！
9 那抓住你的婴孩摔在石头上的人有福了！

Lament over the Destruction of Jerusalem
137 By the waters[a] of Babylon,
there we sat down and wept,
when we remembered Zion.
2 On the willows[b] there
we hung up our lyres.
3 For there our captors
required of us songs,
and our tormentors, mirth, saying,
“Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”
4 How shall we sing the Lord’s song
in a foreign land?
5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem,
let my right hand wither!
6 Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth,
if I do not remember you,
if I do not set Jerusalem
above my highest joy!
7 Remember, O Lord, against the E′domites
the day of Jerusalem,
how they said, “Raze it, raze it!
Down to its foundations!”
8 O daughter of Babylon, you devastator![c]
Happy shall he be who requites you
with what you have done to us!
9 Happy shall he be who takes your little ones
and dashes them against the rock!
