A song of ascents.
1 Out of the depths(A) I cry to you,(B) Lord;
2 Lord, hear my voice.(C)
Let your ears be attentive(D)
to my cry for mercy.(E)
3 If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
Lord, who could stand?(F)
4 But with you there is forgiveness,(G)
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.(H)

130 Cantique pour la route vers la demeure de l’Eternel[a].
Du fond de la détresse ╵je t’invoque, Eternel.
2 Seigneur, écoute-moi !
Sois attentif
à mes supplications !
3 O Eternel, ╵si tu retiens nos fautes,
Seigneur, qui donc subsistera ?
4 Mais le pardon ╵se trouve auprès de toi
afin que l’on te craigne.
5 Moi, je m’attends à l’Eternel, ╵oui, je m’attends à lui, ╵de tout mon être,
j’ai confiance en sa parole.
6 Je guette le Seigneur
bien plus que les guetteurs ╵attendent le matin,
oui, plus que les guetteurs ╵attendent le matin.
7 O Israël, ╵place ta confiance ╵en l’Eternel,
car c’est auprès de lui ╵que l’on trouve l’amour :
la délivrance abonde ╵auprès de lui,
8 et c’est lui qui délivrera ╵Israël de tous ses péchés[b].

130 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.
2 Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3 If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
5 I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.
6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
7 Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
8 And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
