颂赞上帝的美善

所罗门上圣殿朝圣之诗。

127 若不是耶和华建造房屋，
建造者的工作都是徒劳。
若不是耶和华保护城池，
守城者保持警觉也是徒然。
²你早起晚睡，
为生活操劳也是徒然，
唯有耶和华所爱的人才能安眠。
³儿女是耶和华所赐的礼物，
孩子是祂所给的赏赐。
⁴人年轻时生的儿女犹如战士手中的箭。
⁵袋中装满了箭的人有福了！
他们在城门与仇敌争论时，
必不致蒙羞。

Psalm 127

Good News Translation

In Praise of God's Goodness^[a]

127 If the Lord does not build the house,
    the work of the builders is useless;
if the Lord does not protect the city,
    it does no good for the sentries to stand guard.
²It is useless to work so hard for a living,
    getting up early and going to bed late.
For the Lord provides for those he loves,
    while they are asleep.

³Children are a gift from the Lord;
    they are a real blessing.
⁴The sons a man has when he is young
    are like arrows in a soldier's hand.
⁵Happy is the man who has many such arrows.
He will never be defeated
    when he meets his enemies in the place of judgment.
