124 Те, кто надеется на Вечного, – как гора Сион:
    не поколеблются, пребудут вовеки.
2 Как горы окружают Иерусалим,
    так Вечный окружает Свой народ
    отныне и вовеки.

3 Не вечно власти нечестивых
    быть на земле, принадлежащей праведным,
иначе праведные, по их примеру,
    сами станут творить беззаконие.

4 Будь добр, Вечный, к добрым
    и правым в сердцах своих.
5 Но тех, кто следует кривыми путями,
    да отвергнет Вечный вместе со злодеями.

Psalm 124

A song of ascents. Of David.

1 If the Lord had not been on our side—
    let Israel say(A)—
2 if the Lord had not been on our side
    when people attacked us,
3 they would have swallowed us alive
    when their anger flared against us;
4 the flood(B) would have engulfed us,
    the torrent(C) would have swept over us,
5 the raging waters
    would have swept us away.

6 Praise be to the Lord,
    who has not let us be torn by their teeth.
7 We have escaped like a bird
    from the fowler’s snare;(D)
the snare has been broken,(E)
    and we have escaped.
8 Our help is in the name(F) of the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven(G) and earth.

124 “If it had not been the Lord who was on our (A)side,”
(B)Let Israel now say—
2 “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,
When men rose up against us,
3 Then they would have (C)swallowed us alive,
When their wrath was kindled against us;
4 Then the waters would have overwhelmed us,
The stream would have [a]gone over our soul;
5 Then the swollen waters
Would have [b]gone over our soul.”

6 Blessed be the Lord,
Who has not given us as prey to their teeth.
7 (D)Our soul has escaped (E)as a bird from the snare of the [c]fowlers;
The snare is broken, and we have escaped.
8 (F)Our help is in the name of the Lord,
(G)Who made heaven and earth.
