A Song of Ascents.
120 In (A)my distress I cried to the Lord,
And He heard me.
2 Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips
And from a deceitful tongue.
3 What shall be given to you,
Or what shall be done to you,
You false tongue?
4 Sharp arrows of the [a]warrior,
With coals of the broom tree!
5 Woe is me, that I dwell in (B)Meshech,
(C)That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
6 My soul has dwelt too long
With one who hates peace.
7 I am for peace;
But when I speak, they are for war.

120 Sa aking paghihirap akoʼy tumawag sa Panginoon,
at akoʼy kanyang sinagot.
2 Panginoon, iligtas nʼyo ako sa mga mandaraya at sinungaling.
3 Kayong mga sinungaling, ano kaya ang ipaparusa ng Dios sa inyo?
4 Parurusahan niya kayo sa pamamagitan ng matatalim na pana ng mga kawal at nagliliyab na baga.
5 Nakakaawa ako dahil naninirahan akong kasama ng mga taong kasinsama ng mga taga-Meshec at mga taga-Kedar.
6 Matagal na rin akong naninirahang kasama ng mga walang hilig sa kapayapaan.
7 Ang nais koʼy kapayapaan, ngunit kapag akoʼy nagsalita tungkol sa kapayapaan, ang gusto nilaʼy digmaan.

1 I call on the Lord(A) in my distress,(B)
and he answers me.
2 Save me, Lord,
from lying lips(C)
and from deceitful tongues.(D)
3 What will he do to you,
and what more besides,
you deceitful tongue?
4 He will punish you with a warrior’s sharp arrows,(E)
with burning coals of the broom bush.
5 Woe to me that I dwell in Meshek,
that I live among the tents of Kedar!(F)
6 Too long have I lived
among those who hate peace.
7 I am for peace;
but when I speak, they are for war.
