Praise to God for His Everlasting Mercy
2 (C)Let Israel now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
3 Let the house of Aaron now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
4 Let those who fear the Lord now say,
“His mercy endures forever.”
5 (D)I called on the Lord in distress;
The Lord answered me and (E)set me in a broad place.
6 (F)The Lord is on my side;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?
7 (G)The Lord is for me among those who help me;
Therefore (H)I shall see my desire on those who hate me.
8 (I)It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man.
9 (J)It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in princes.
10 All nations surrounded me,
But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
11 They (K)surrounded me,
Yes, they surrounded me;
But in the name of the Lord I will destroy them.
12 They surrounded me (L)like bees;
They were quenched (M)like a fire of thorns;
For in the name of the Lord I will [a]destroy them.
13 You pushed me violently, that I might fall,
But the Lord helped me.
14 (N)The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.
15 The voice of rejoicing and salvation
Is in the tents of the righteous;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
16 (O)The right hand of the Lord is exalted;
The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.
17 (P)I shall not die, but live,
And (Q)declare the works of the Lord.
18 The Lord has (R)chastened[b] me severely,
But He has not given me over to death.
19 (S)Open to me the gates of righteousness;
I will go through them,
And I will praise the Lord.
20 (T)This is the gate of the Lord,
(U)Through which the righteous shall enter.
21 I will praise You,
For You have (V)answered me,
And have become my salvation.
22 (W)The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
23 [c]This was the Lord’s doing;
It is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Save now, I pray, O Lord;
O Lord, I pray, send now prosperity.
26 (X)Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.
27 God is the Lord,
And He has given us (Y)light;
Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar.
28 You are my God, and I will praise You;
(Z)You are my God, I will exalt You.
29 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

2 So soll denn Israel sprechen:
Ja, seine Gnade währt ewiglich!
3 So soll denn das Haus Aaron sprechen:
Ja, seine Gnade währt ewiglich!
4 So sollen denn, die den Herrn fürchten, sprechen:
Ja, seine Gnade währt ewiglich!
5 Ich rief zum Herrn in meiner Not,
der Herr antwortete mir und befreite mich.
6 Der Herr ist für mich, ich fürchte mich nicht;
was kann ein Mensch mir antun?
7 Der Herr ist für mich, er kommt mir zu Hilfe,
und ich werde meine Lust sehen an denen, die mich hassen.
8 Besser ist"s, bei dem Herrn Schutz zu suchen,
als sich auf Menschen zu verlassen;
9 besser ist"s, bei dem Herrn Schutz zu suchen,
als sich auf Fürsten zu verlassen!
10 Alle Heiden haben mich umringt;
im Namen des Herrn schlage ich sie!
11 Sie haben mich umringt, ja, sie haben mich umringt;
im Namen des Herrn schlage ich sie.
12 Sie haben mich umringt wie Bienen;
sie sind erloschen wie ein Dornenfeuer;
im Namen des Herrn schlage ich sie.
13 Du hast mich hart gestoßen, dass ich fallen sollte;
aber der Herr half mir.
14 Der Herr ist meine Stärke und mein Lied,
und er wurde mir zum Heil.
15 Stimmen des Jubels und des Heils
ertönen in den Zelten der Gerechten:
Die Rechte des Herrn hat den Sieg errungen!
16 Die Rechte des Herrn ist erhöht,
die Rechte des Herrn hat den Sieg errungen!
17 Ich werde nicht sterben, sondern leben
und die Taten des Herrn verkünden.
18 Der Herr hat mich wohl hart gezüchtigt;
aber dem Tod hat er mich nicht preisgegeben.
19 Tut mir auf die Tore der Gerechtigkeit,
dass ich durch sie einziehe und den Herrn preise!
20 Dies ist das Tor des Herrn[c];
die Gerechten werden durch es eingehen.
21 Ich danke dir, denn du hast mich erhört
und wurdest mein Heil!
22 Der Stein, den die Bauleute verworfen haben,
der ist zum Eckstein geworden;
23 vom Herrn ist das geschehen;
es ist wunderbar in unseren Augen!
24 Dies ist der Tag, den der Herr gemacht hat;
wir wollen uns freuen und fröhlich sein in ihm!
25 Ach, Herr, hilf![d]
Ach, Herr, lass wohl gelingen!
26 Gepriesen sei[e] der, welcher kommt im Namen des Herrn!
Wir segnen euch vom Haus des Herrn aus.
27 Der Herr ist Gott, er hat uns Licht gegeben.
Bindet das Festopfer mit Stricken
an die Hörner des Altars!
28 Du bist mein Gott, ich will dich preisen!
Mein Gott, ich will dich erheben!
29 Dankt dem Herrn, denn er ist gütig,
ja, seine Gnade währt ewiglich!

4 Let those who fear the Lord(G) say:
“His love endures forever.”
5 When hard pressed,(H) I cried to the Lord;
he brought me into a spacious place.(I)
6 The Lord is with me;(J) I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?(K)
7 The Lord is with me; he is my helper.(L)
I look in triumph on my enemies.(M)
8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord(N)
than to trust in humans.(O)
9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord
than to trust in princes.(P)
10 All the nations surrounded me,
but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.(Q)
11 They surrounded me(R) on every side,(S)
but in the name of the Lord I cut them down.
12 They swarmed around me like bees,(T)
but they were consumed as quickly as burning thorns;(U)
in the name of the Lord I cut them down.(V)
13 I was pushed back and about to fall,
but the Lord helped me.(W)
14 The Lord is my strength(X) and my defense[a];
he has become my salvation.(Y)
15 Shouts of joy(Z) and victory
resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The Lord’s right hand(AA) has done mighty things!(AB)
16 The Lord’s right hand is lifted high;
the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!”
17 I will not die(AC) but live,
and will proclaim(AD) what the Lord has done.
18 The Lord has chastened(AE) me severely,
but he has not given me over to death.(AF)
19 Open for me the gates(AG) of the righteous;
I will enter(AH) and give thanks to the Lord.
20 This is the gate of the Lord(AI)
through which the righteous may enter.(AJ)
21 I will give you thanks, for you answered me;(AK)
you have become my salvation.(AL)

23 the Lord has done this,
