Tehillim 114
Orthodox Jewish Bible
114 When Yisroel went out of Mitzrayim, Bais Ya’akov from a people of foreign tongue,
2 Yehudah was His kodesh (sanctuary), and Yisroel His dominion.
3 The yam saw it, and fled; Yarden was driven back.
4 The harim skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
5 What ailed thee, O thou yam, that thou didst flee? Thou Yarden, that thou wast driven back?
6 Ye harim, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?
7 Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of Hashem, at the presence of Elohei Ya’akov;
8 Which turned the rock into a pool of mayim, the flint into a spring of mayim.
Psalm 114
Lexham English Bible
Praise to God for His Works During the Exodus
114 When Israel went out from Egypt,
the house of Jacob from a people of a strange language,
2 Judah became his sanctuary,
Israel his dominion.
3 The sea looked and fled;
the Jordan turned back.
4 The mountains skipped like rams,
the hills like lambs.[a]
5 What’s with you, O sea, that you fled?
O Jordan, that you turned back?
6 O mountains, that you skipped like rams?
O hills, like lambs?
7 At the presence of the Lord writhe, O earth,[b]
at the presence of the God of Jacob,
8 who turned the rock into a pool of water,
flinty stone into a spring of water.
