Psalm 11
World English Bible
For the Chief Musician. By David.
11 In Yahweh, I take refuge.
How can you say to my soul, “Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
2 For, behold, the wicked bend their bows.
They set their arrows on the strings,
that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?
4 Yahweh is in his holy temple.
Yahweh is on his throne in heaven.
His eyes observe.
His eyes examine the children of men.
5 Yahweh examines the righteous,
but his soul hates the wicked and him who loves violence.
6 On the wicked he will rain blazing coals;
fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For Yahweh is righteous.
He loves righteousness.
The upright shall see his face.

Faith in the Lord’s Righteousness
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
11 In (A)the Lord I put my trust;
How can you say to my soul,
“Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
2 For look! (B)The wicked bend their bow,
They make ready their arrow on the string,
That they may shoot [a]secretly at the upright in heart.
3 (C)If the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?
4 The Lord is in His holy temple,
The Lord’s (D)throne is in heaven;
(E)His eyes behold,
His eyelids test the sons of men.
5 The Lord (F)tests the righteous,
But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
6 Upon the wicked He will rain coals;
Fire and brimstone and a burning wind
(G)Shall be [b]the portion of their cup.

Bei dem
Wie könnt ihr da zu mir[b] sagen:
»Flieh in die Berge wie ein Vogel!
2 Denn sieh doch: Die gottlosen Mörder spannen den Bogen,
legen den Pfeil auf die Sehne und zielen.
Sie versuchen im Zwielicht, ´wo keiner sie sieht`,
auf die zu schießen, die ein aufrichtiges Herz haben.«
3 Wenn jede Rechtsordnung zerstört wird,
was kann dann ein Mensch, der nach Gottes Willen lebt[c], noch ausrichten?
4 Doch der
im Himmel hat der
Von dort beobachten seine Augen prüfend die Menschen.[d]
5 Ja, der
Doch wer sich von Gott abwendet und Gewalt liebt, den hasst er aus tiefster Seele.
6 Er wird die Gottlosen in tödliche Gefahren stürzen[f],
Feuer und Schwefel wird sie treffen, und der heiße Wüstenwind verbrennt sie.
7 Denn der
Wer aufrichtig ist, wird sein Angesicht sehen.
